I've used "The Guys" several times over the last few years, and for various appliances, and can I vouch for the positive results every time. The price structure might be offputting to some (travel fee + additional diagnosis fee + labor cost) but having fast and pro service for your busted freezer a phone call away is a pretty damn nice convenience that I didn't mind paying for. Logan troubleshooted our 10 year old fridge and got it back to status quo in an hour; a previous tech had come out last year to correct our 20 year old GE washer (yea I know, it's time) without breaking a sweat. Dishwasher on the fritz. Made an appointment, someone came at that time. He spent approx. 20 minutes, looked inside dishwasher, pressed buttons and listened. It was determined I needed a new dishwasher (mine was 22+ years old). No worries, yet I was still charged the full $99 for the visit. No work was done, no repairs, nothing other than 20 minutes to look and listen. Due to this very short and exceptionally SIMPLE visit, the fee should have been prorated. The fee should commensurate with the work. I paid $99 for 20 minutes and short chat. I believe I was taken advantage of and it just felt wrong. In comparison, fireplace needed work. Another, different, company came out about 30 minutes later, thoroughly look into fireplace, adjusted some buttons, replaced sets of batteries, check remote, gas lines etc. Spent about 30 minutes or so, explained everything and they charged me ZERO. They said it was a simple, easy fix and they departed, no charge. I emailed Appliance Guys explaining what happened, I have yet to receive a reply. These guys are great and VERY responsive! I contacted them since I am doing some major kitchen remodeling and wanted to have an already vetted local appliance repair shop in my back pocket should something go south on me. Couldn't be happier with the support I received here! I had several questions and they were very open as to which were the best brands to look at and which ones weren't. There is no financial incentive for them to do this, and, in fact, if I buy an appliance that is very reliable they make no money, right? So this is the sort of locally owned business that I like to patronize. They put their customers first. I've had occasion to contact them several times about issues involving repairs and parts procurement for appliances that I currently have and they always got back to me quickly and cheerfully. Prior to entering our home he removed his shoes so as not to track any dirty inside. Kevin replaced the element in my oven. He was very quick with the replacement when the part arrived. He also provided great communication with scheduling the service and informing of the delays from receiving the part needed. It took 2 weeks from the time I put in the repair request. 1 week to schedule for a tech to come look at the model number of the oven to order the part and another week for the part to show up. read more

We had a great experience with Appliance Guys a couple of weeks ago. Needed a repair tech to come out to investigate / fix a suddenly-squeaking dryer. Lorena, the scheduler, arranged for Patrick, the tech, to come out and take a look. Awesomeness 1: It didn't take too long to schedule (scheduled on 8/23 for a visit on 8/28). Awesomeness 2: Patrick diagnosed the issue ... and Awesomeness 3: he actually had the necessary parts in truck. It took less than an hour all in to complete the repair. Summary: Price was reasonable, work was done quickly without drama, and dryer has not let out a squeak since then. Patrick was professional and seemed knowledgeable. In the unhappy instance we need future repair, we would be happy to call Appliance Guys again. read more

My dryer was making a funny noise and I could not place what was causing the issue. It also had a burning smell I was really worried about. After some quick evaluation and taking off an access panel, Brandon explained what component had failed and what the costs would be for replacement. Fortunately, we did not have a major appliance breakdown, but were concerned because our dryer was taking a long time to dry clothes. I read up on how to do the job of cleaning the dryer's insides myself, and realized I would much rather have a professional do it. Appliance Guys sent out Samuel and he was polite, efficient, and disassembled the dryer much quicker than I could have done. (He even wore protective coverings on his shoes to not mess up our floors!) He said everything really was OK (I think it's our new washer not spinning fast enough), but pointed out that the drive belt was beginning to wear out, as was a door gasket. We had him replace those, and I figure we should have more years before our dryer has a breakdown. He cleared the repair price with me and I agreed. I think we were charged a reasonable amount. This is our second time using this company, and we will continue calling them when our appliances get upset. read more

Long overdue review here. I have been using these guys for years. Staff is always prompt in returning calls if I don't get a hold of them first try (but often do), super nice and transparent so that there are no surprises. Latest repair was my dishwasher today. They came with a spare pump in case it needed it, but instead Kevin the technician just unclogged deep in the pump (I know how to clean the filter, etc, but didn't know about this part) and he even showed me how to do it in the future. Many repair folks would've just replaced the pump. This saved me about $250! Net-net...they have worked on several appliances in my house over the years. Kevin came twice, once to see that we needed a part, and again after he had received the part. He is very professional. Both times he arrived when he said he would. He has great communication skills and was able to let us know what he was doing each step of the way. He showed me that our older drier, (maybe from 2008?) is in good shape. He replaced the hose which was put in by a construction guy who bought the wrong one so it had fallen out and couldn't be replaced. He also cleaned all the lint out of the drier--including a toothbrush I had used to try to clean the lint and couldn't retrieve when it fell in! I'm so happy to find this company. When I had called another company about our front loading washer, I was told that those can't be serviced. But Kevin said he can! So now we have someone good to call when we need it. Major kudos for prompt service! Submitted a maintenance request with my property management at about 6:30am today, on a Friday. I proactively called Appliance Guys at 8:30am, when they opened, and Christiana informed me the day was booked but they'd be looking to shift things around and would update me asap if service couldn't be provided today. I was already mentally preparing to go through the weekend without a working fridge! Fast forward, it is 1:15pm and Kevin, the repair man, arrived exactly at the time he informed me he would be, and repair was done in a matter of minutes! Relieved it was an easy fix! Had an issue with a new to us Jennair range and Patrick came out on time and very professional, had clearly listened to our situation. with four different burners it wasn't surprising that they didn't have the exact switch but he helped me locate one and even explained how to do it myself. Even took pictures to so I could see how the old one was connected. Well worth the service fee. In the end I chose to have Patrick come back out and replace the switch, once the part arrived. It had been just long enough that I didn't trust myself with electricity and replacing the part correctly. He was here replaced it and we checked it all and then was done. Our gas oven was having issues getting to temperature and would occasionally leak gas. Appliance Guys we're recommended to us from our neighbors. It was easy to setup an appointment and communication of cost and time was clear. Date of the appointment 2 guys arrived promptly and even have a call ahead that they were on their way. They assessed the oven quickly and did some troubleshooting and found that a part had to be replaced. They made it clear of the cost of the part and that service for it would be covered with the initial service fee (since it was a quick job). Our 2004 Dacor cooktop/oven started ringing incessantly with a display of the "F1 Error code." After an efficient scheduling call to Appliance Guys Portland, OR, Canh Nguyen came out. He quickly diagnosed the problem and later emailed me a link to Ebay that I could use to buy the replacement clock part no longer stocked by the manufacturer. Canh came back out and replaced the part and the problem was solved. I noted he paid attention to (my) time and just got the job done. Cahn was super efficient. Canh is a pleasant, low-key guy.
