This little place was recommended by my coworker today. I don't know the area very well and she raved about this place and the restaurant next door. IT's TIME is a pre-made sushi place where u will find a good assortment of sushi plates or terriaki bowls. I went for the sashimi and California roll duo. The fish was very fresh and I was amazed at the huge pieces of sashimi I received! Even though I was having a major sushi craving and wanted to love this place, I just had a terrible experience. I got a spicy tuna roll and the creamy karaage chicken and both were inedible. The chicken was all breading and no chicken and I later realized that the bottom of the container was marked with yesterday's date as the expiration date. I have literally never left food on my plate with even mediocre sushi but the spicy tuna roll tasted like it was also old and I had to throw it away after one piece. If neighboring Oco Time should be found closed, this place makes a worthy substitute. The sushi, though pre-made, is just as delicious, and the usual tempura and soup is available as well. In variety, it doesn't compare to Oco, but what can you expect from a little take-out shop? They must regularly replenish their refrigerated goods, because my spicy veggie roll tasted quite fresh. The rice was soft, not hard and congealed as it becomes when kept cold for too long. My friend got something called Jenna's role, which I actually preferred to my own; it contained marinated shitakes and tempura green beans--delicious. I eat here at least once a week, up to three times a week. It's heaven for someone on a gluten free, dairy free diet. Very quick and convenient if you're short on time. Seating available indoors and on a patio outside. This business offers self serve and takeout style sushi, salads, appetizers, beverages and ramen with a clear, savory broth. The prices are fair for high quality Japanese food. I've tried sushi and ramen from restaurants all across the US, and it surprises me to find such excellent sushi right here in little Ukiah. Try to stop in before 3pm because the chefs will stop making more rolls for the day after that. I'm annoyed by the complaints by some previous Yelp reviewers. In particular, the woman claiming that there are no noodles for the ramen bar. She clearly didn't request the noodles, which is implied with the little paper signs stuck to the wall and counter, so she decided to have a goofy little tantrum about it online instead. You have the option of buckwheat soba noodles, traditional ramen noodles, or gluten free rice noodles. Ask the cashier for either chicken or miso broth, in either a small or large container, and specify the type of noodles you would prefer, if any. The cashier will bring your bowl with noodles in it, and then it is up to you to use the ramen bar to add your fixings (like seaweed, veggies and herbs) and ladle your own broth over the noodles. Also, there are bottles of communal soy sauce sitting on every table- you don't have to buy the 10 cent packets. My fav lunch here is a salmon avocado roll, with a small miso soup and the watermelon flavor Blue Monkey drink. But I also love the carpaccio, the smoked salmon rice balls, the salads & the spam musubi!! I miss the spicy pork ramen broth they had one winter. Wonder if they'll bring it back someday. read more

Sucks that it was Saturday and we wanted to check out OCO Time sushi for lunch, instead we had to come here which is right next door and some how affiliated with OCO time. Very bad move I should have walked out the door when I saw that they actually had day old sushi for sale in their cooler. I don't know what kind of hippy dogsh*t they were serving but it was not sushi and it was not edible. Plus it was over $28.00 for the few things we could even find in the cooler. We couldn't get a table at Oco Time for lunch so we ventured over here instead. This little shop is pretty amazing. You can choose from a selection of pre-made sushi rolls and other Japanese goodies. All the food's in a refrigerator, so if it requires heating, they let you heat it up in one of their microwaves. They also have a miso soup bar where you can add all sorts of yummy ingredients to your miso (or maybe I misinterpreted the purpose of their soup bar). They have traditional miso fixings like tofu and seaweed and not-so-traditional things like cilantro (I don't recommend putting a ton of cilantro in your miso unless you only want to taste cilantro). Prices are pretty good and you can choose to dine in or take out. I found it kind of surprising for a place like Ukiah (no offense) to have such a cool little store and highly rated sushi joint. Will have to get a table at Oco Time the next time I'm in town (err... if I ever go back to town). read more

Customers receive great value for their money. I ordered a Chicken Bento box. It was really filling. It took me a long time to finish. My gf ordered the California Roll. My bento box could have used a little bit more teriyaki sauce. I like the drink selections. I should have drank a fruit drink instead of soda. Love this place! The Sushi was amazing and not too expensive. I loved being able to grab it and go. I became addicted to the teriyaki seaweed strips though which are 10 cents each- but they sell 100 strips for $7.50, so I definitely got a package of those before heading back to LA this past weekend. Something that stopped me from giving 5 stars is the 99 cent charge for a soy sauce packet. I cannot think of any sushi place that charges for soy sauce with a purchase. It's Time! is the sister resturant to Oco Time, to which it is connected. While Oco Time offers the whole experience, It's Time is good for people on the go, or with more simple tastes. You can pick up your sushi (which is A+) here and be in and out in 2 minutes. There are a few seats if you do decide you want to stick around, though. I highly recommend the OcoPop, which is a little bowl of teriyaki chicken and white rice. Pop it in the microwaves they have next to the counter, and you have an instant meal that is simply amazing. read more

The only reason I gave them a 3 is because the fish is fresh. Other than that, I wasn't very impressed. It's different. That's the best way I can describe it. There is no menu. Sushi rolls are in a refrigerated case. More than half of it is vegetarian. Supposedly there's a noodle bar but I didn't see any noodles, just soup. I won't come back. read more

I've been to Oco time before, their sushi, while decent, isn't anything to write home about. I've been to It's time, it's the same sushi made next door. But this review isn't about the sushi. This review is about the noodle bar. Never would I've thought the best noodle spot in Ukiah is a self-serve noodle bar tucked in the corner of a to-go sushi shack. For eight and something mendocino county buckaroos, you can pick from a variety of noodles from Udon to ramen, pick from three choices of freshly made savory broth, and stuff that bowl with as much toppings as you can. We tried to go to Oco Time next door, and even though we were the first in line before they even opened, we couldn't get a table until 8:30pm! So instead we came here and got takeout sushi for dinner (probably same owner). They were good and reasonably priced. Love this place for take out or eating in. Everything is very fresh and the service is very attentive. I usually cannot pass up the noodle bar. The soups are fresh and flavorful and the additions are very varied and plentiful. Don't overlook all the delicious Sushi and prepared dishes to go. Though they don't really give you enough condiments like wasabi and soy so I always end up paying extra for those things. They like to sell those little packets of soy sauce and wasabi! read more

Sushi is not amazing, not super fresh looking or tasting either. they go through a lot of plastic because it's all grab and go plastic boxes for everything. Hi, This is the same place as the restaurant rated #6, which is OCO Time. It is really a world class place for what it is - even being in Ukiah, when it would do famously if it were in a big city. Great food friendly staff. Not a formal dining out place but a friendly neighborhood type sushi-bar/restaurant. I love the Hamachi which seems unusually fresh. The people who work there are friendly courteous and helpful. I don't know what gives with Yelp's rating system. This place is much better than at least 4 of the 5 places that rated above it (as OCO time) and it is cleaner than any of them to boot.
