I grew up in the SF Bay Area, so when I moved to Mendocino County, I missed Thai food. Last year I tried a new restaurant in Redwood Valley called Thai Tasty- and we have been going there ever since. Every birthday, special occasion- we get to go Thai Tasty! It was actually a local doctor who recommended the restaurant! Last week we ordered special Thai food for Mother's Day with the in laws, and it was superb. I tried a new dish for me, the Clay pot prawns. The cellophane noodles are just delicious and full of sauce, the prawns were tender and plentiful- it was an instant hit. Our new favorite thing on the menu. I am driving home from work tonight, and drove by the restaurant to stop in and have the dish again. It's so delicious. Large portions, and I love the woodear mushrooms too! I recommend this dish (pictured) as well as the pumpkin curry, and pad Thai. The owners and employees are very kind and welcoming. I hope more people frequent the restaurant- they sure deserve our support!

The best Thai food in town. It's comparable to what I used to go for thai food from my favorite Thai place in LA Thai town. Delicious!

    Cozy vibes!!!!!

Good atmosphere delicious food, clean bathroom. I will definitely come back. They have Ramen now. It's good.

We stopped by this restaurant off the freeway on the way to Humboldt county, noticing this place having freshly opened. I ordered: Tom Yum fried rice - overall solid quantities, the rice was quite sticky which was the main negative as a fried rice, but it had a good tomato flavor, albeit lacking the sourness from tom yum. Fried Banana - Overall super solid, hit all the banana notes you would want in a dessert, while having some creamy ice cream. The chocolate sauce didn't taste super great however. Overall, this place felt super homey, and had quite a lot of space. The service was pretty hands off, but for a roadside stop this place is pretty much exactly what you would want. Good, cheaper, homey food in decent quantities

Right off Fwy 101, it's a quick stop for a good bite. Don't be afraid if the place is not crowed as you walk in. This place meets or beats typical Thai restaurants in big cities. We tried (in order of our likes] red curry, pad see ew, curry pop and stir frid vegitable with basil. All tasted good. The stir fry could use more basil flavor though. Overall good taste but less salt would make them taste better. Or perhaps general public is craving for saltier food than my party's taste.

    Pad see ew! Delicious!

Ask the Community - Thai Tasty

I was looking at the photos of the delicious looking tofu dishes posted but I could not tell so I wanted to ask how the tofu in the curries and pad thai etc is prepared? It looked like it was cut into cubes and baked or fried? Thanks for any info!

The menu is extensive, covering everything from pho and vermicelli bowls to sushi, curries, and chow mein. Whether you're craving a warm, aromatic bowl of noodle soup or a crisp, fresh roll from the sushi bar, they've got something for every palate. I especially loved that they have traditional dishes like Vietnamese Sandwiches (Banh Mi) and a full list of rice and stir-fry plates, all reasonably priced. The bar? Top notch. It's a legit full-service setup with plenty of taps, top-shelf liquor, and an inviting granite countertop where locals and travelers alike can relax. TVs were showing the game, and the atmosphere struck that sweet balance between chill and lively. Bonus points for cold beer served with proper respect. Service was friendly and efficient, and the space itself is clean, modern, and way bigger inside than you'd expect from the exterior. We ordered the pad see ew gluten-free and it was perfectly flavored. The pumpkin curry with tofu was also delicious and just the right level of spice, though I would have liked it to have a bit more pumpkin. And the mango sticky rice was gorgeous and delicious. The waiter was knowledgeable about gluten-free options and very accommodating. We came here when Harbin Hot Springs cafe was unexpectedly closed and what a gem to find. Though the service was slow (they were completely packed and understaffed), it was 100% worth the wait. Our friend ordered the Tom Kha soup and raved about it. I'll definitely be coming back.

We ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer, and Pad Thai and the Tom Kha soup for main courses. Service was great & attentive. The spring rolls were delicious and very fresh ingredients. I would definitely order again. While the soup was also good, it was sweeter than I'm accustomed to, almost as if they added a touch of sugar. If you are familiar with the dish it is a light coconut broth with lime, lots of veggies, and topped with fresh cilantro. It is normal slightly sweet from the coconut milk, but this was an exaggerated sweetness, which is why I believe they may have added sugar. If you like it super sweet, you may enjoy it. The pad Thai was great. If I come again I'll probably try the Pad See Ew, the spring rolls, and the mango sticky rice.

Worst food experience ever. I give them one star because ZERO is not an option. I should have seen…read morethe problem at $80 for 2 soups and 2 items. We ordered 2 wonton soups, first an orange chicken then switched to lemon due to them not having orange, and a basic chicken chow mean. When I picked up the food the lemon chicken was on top and clearly wrong. It was a huge bed of rice with 4 little flat pieces of breaded chicken ( it did come with a half lemon), but clearly not what we ordered. I went back in and tried to point it out but they insisted thats how it was ordered. The younger girl asked if we'd like another but at our cost, I declined. After going back out to my truck my wife asks why they added $11 for chicken and $2 for large on each of the wonton soups, making them $22each? This is the point where we took all the food back and asked for our money back. The younger girl tried to explain what was on the menu to somehow justify what we got. We explained that we phoned our order in and never had a menu. Excuses were all we kept hearing until an older lady came out from the back. She too kept trying to cut both myself and my wife off including talking over me after asking me what was wrong. She tried to say that there was no such thing as a basic wonton soup even thought the receipt clearly shows an up mark up of $13 for chicken and making it large, neither of which we asked for or were wasked about. After I asked her to stop talking over me so I can answer her question and after we said we just want our money back she got very heated and started yelling about how she had been doing this a long time and been there for years and blaw blew. They refused to give us a refund even after taking our food from the counter and placing it on another table. We left without a refund and without food. My wife just had surgery today and all she wanted to eat was some basic wonton soup for her throat. Instead Kour Thia served up the largest dish of BS Ive ever seen from any customer service. Most people who try to argue at least have a valid point, this lady argued out of pure ego because she didnt want to except that they got an order wrong and upcharged us for items we never asked for. I will never go back to this place again and I will encourage everyone I know to steer clear of this place. Probly best aways, by the smell of the place, the health dept should probably pay them a visit.
