I really want to give this a 4 or 5 star review but..... We wanted to try Itacate, but had some questions (i.e, what's the menu at your new North Chili location? Drinks there? Same as your Penfield location?) So we tried to call. Get the 3 tone error - your call cannot be completed as dialed. Hmm... check the number and dial again. Same thing. Ok, 3rd time's the charm? Nope... network error try your call again. We drove over anyway, and it was fairly crowded but not a long wait. We step up to order and mention to the guy, hey, we couldn't get through on the phone. He said "yep, I took it off the hook" (or disconnected it.. something to that nature). We asked why and he said it's crazy busy and he didn't have time to keep answering the phone. Hmm.. not great business practice. So, I said, "Can I get the pork burrito?" He said you could have if you were here 10 minutes ago haha. Again, hmmm... How about I'm sorry, that's a great seller and we're out of it? We placed our order and asked for the fried avocados - yes! That sounds delicious! Well, you can't have that either. Ok, why? We're out of those too. Sigh... disappointment all around. I'm giving this a 3 star review because the burritos were very good. Service could use some pointers. I may revise my review if I try this place again.

I'm giving this place 3.5 stars mostly because of ambiance and general service. After closing the doors on their sit-down location in Penfield, the owners of Itacate opened a fast-casual restaurant in Chili. You order at the counter like a standard fast-casual joint. All of the employees were kind. We ordered food to eat-in and sat down to wait for our meals. The employees called out orders when they were ready, sort of like a coffee shop. This became a little confusing with other patrons in the restaurant also waiting for their food. Yelling, "tacos" isn't super effective at a restaurant where many people are ordering tacos. My friend and I were also confused at times because it often was hard to distinguish if the employees were calling out to the patrons or communicating with each other. The ambiance in general was a little lacking. First off, it was freezing in the dining area. I'm not often one to complain about cold (I run hot most days), but more than once I considered putting on my coat because I was that cold. There was a can of paint out in the dining area as well, which was a little strange. The utensil dispensers weren't working. Little things added up to make my experience not as comfortable as I'd hoped. The important part, though, is the food. Itacate offers the standard chips/salsa, tacos, and burritos as well as entree options like enchiladas and flautas. There were other appetizers as well, including tortilla soup and fried avocado. The food was good and ingredients tasted fresh. I ordered chips and salsa to start and chicken enchiladas as my entree. The chips were very good - salty with a hint of lime. The salsa tasted great, but had random chunks of what looked like cotija as well as pieces of shredded mozzarella. My chicken enchiladas were delicious - not what I was expecting from a fast-casual restaurant (in a good way)! My friend, who is extremely picky when it comes to Mexican cuisine, really enjoyed her chicken flautas. We split an order of churros after our meal, and they were hot, crispy, and delicious. Overall, I was very happy with the food! I think if I were ever in the area again, I might order take-out from here, but I'm not sure if I would dine-in again.

Disclaimer: please remember this is a fast food restaurant not a full sit down. I ordered a chicken tortilla soup and was surprised yet pleased. The chicken broth was full of flavor with chunks of fresh chicken breast. There was large chunks of avocado and lots of seasonings. My husband ordered an enchilada. I found it to be outstanding as well. The rice and beans were good too! Especially, again, for being a fast food restaurant I was surprised at how fresh most of the food tasted. I'll be back!

I would definitely say this is pretty authentic in comparison to your other fast food Mexican food chains but it wasn't anything to brag about. The family deals are probably worth it but we would say it was a tad bit expensive for a fast food restaurant. As well, we definitely thought they put way too much chili seasoning on our tacos and I don't mind the spice but when it's like burning your mouth and that's all you can taste, you know it isn't portioned right. We did enjoy the hibiscus iced tea they had to drink but there were no refills which was understandable since it was only a 1.00. Another thing we thought which was unprofessional was one of the workers kept stepping out during his shift and took a smoke break in his truck leaving his other coworker. We understand he didn't have much customers but we thought that was a bit unprofessional especially if he was on the clock.

This is one of the tougher reviews to write! I really couldn't decide between 3 and 4 stars. Upon walking in, we were a little taken aback. We should've known it was just a fast casual place, but we didn't. We came here on a whim without much research after not getting into Rohrbachs before a show at RWC. It was FREEZING in there, and even though I know it's been there awhile, it doesn't look quite finished. The drink selection is very minimal, which was disappointing (it's literally just a cooler with a few bottled Pepsi products). We ordered our food and went to a table to wait. The table was gross. Its like wood planks with grooves between them and the grooves are filled with old food. They call you to get your food by what you ordered and not your name, and since the kitchen is open you honestly can't tell if they are calling you up or calling out orders to each other, so we were a bit confused. We got chips and salsa to start. The chips were fine. The salsa I'm pretty sure was homemade and had decent flavor, but the textures were waaaaay off. It has small and big weird chunks and long fat pieces of tomato skin, and bits of shredded cheese that we were not sure were supposed to be there. It was edible, just very strange. My friend ordered the Chicken Enchiladas and I ordered the Flautas. She was disappointed that we got black beans instead of refried on the side, but I was actually happy about that. The beans, IMO, were great and had excellent flavor. The yellow rice was great too. My flautas were nice and crispy and the chicken inside was moist and flavorful. They were topped with big hunks of fresh avocado (also a happy surprise for me but maybe not for everyone), shredded lettuce, fresh tomato and onion, a drizzle of sour cream and some very hot (at least for me) sauce. It was ok once mixed with all the other flavors but whew! It was a bit much for me and I would ask to have it left off the next time. I ordered us some churros for dessert, which as another yelper mentioned is really just 1 frozen churro broken in half and served as "2" for $2.50. A little crazy if you ask me. Overall, the food really was great which made me lean towards 4 stars. There were some beautiful murals on the walls, and whoever the guy was running the show was very nice and accommodating and came around talking to everyone asking for honest feedback, which I appreciated. But the temp, cleanliness, confusion, weird salsa and churro-corner-cutting brings me back to the 3. Maybe 3.5, if that was allowed. I also really wish I could've had a margarita-might've helped me overlook some of the obvious flaws

Quick service! I had a chicken enchilada entree and my wife had a beef campechanos entree - both were delicious but the campechanos were a bit greasy. The black beans were fantastic! I think it was a sort of black bean soup because I could taste broth in it (I think). Really great though. Rice was standard issue for the cuisine. But the biggest win for this new restaurant in North Chili is definitely the speed of service. Ordered in-person and had no complaints for the prep time. Nothing spicy in the enchiladas at least - next time I'll be sure to try their spicier sauce. Can't wait!

Food's okay but expensive. It's cheaper to go to one of the area diners and sit down for a full meal than buy a steak burrito.

On Wednesday, April 22 I was in Henrietta for an appt and decided to place an order at Chuy's to pick up on my way home. I paid and received my email confirmation. My mouth was already watering... I arrived to the restaurant early, hoping it would be ready. They were closed. A sign hung on their door stating they were "Closed Wednesdays and Sundays until further notice". Nothing on their site indicated this and my order went through with no issue. I was a bit upset. Not only for the inconvenience but also because I was hungry and wanted my burrito! So the next day, I had to be back in Henrietta anyway so I stopped in and asked about the order. They immediately apologized profusely - apparently there was a glitch that allowed several orders to go through. They assured me that I would be refunded. I asked if it would be possible to just give me my order instead of a refund (I was still dreaming of that burrito). They said of course and even offered me a free drink which was not expected (I was happy to pay but they insisted). The burrito came out in less than five minutes and they said they would still refund me - even though I assured them it was not necessary. I wasn't even mad when I came in; I didn't make any scene or demands. I just wanted to ask about my order assuming it was an accident, and give them a chance to see what they could do. They went above and beyond anything I would have expected. They more than made up for any minor inconvenience it caused. Even if they didn't refund me, I would have still felt the same way in how I was treated. So yes, the food is incredible, but it is matched with a masterclass in customer service which feels increasingly rare these days. I'd post a pic of my burrito but I've been chowing down on it while trying this review and, well, it's gone...

Named after race-car driver Lorenzo Llamas. Luckily he doesn't use any of his infamous namesake "Llamas" as meat here. Gives new meaning to the query "como te llamas?" And to "alpaca lunch for you." Lorenzo's ex-wife is Shauna Sand, but she didn't teach him to make food this good. She looks like she's never had a taco in her life. Yet she does have a taco. It's well-publicized, everyone's seen it. But the point is, Lorenzo Llamas does not use Llamas to make his tacos. What to get: best authentic sopes & tacos this side of Steve Guttenberg's basement And: tortas are really good too Plus: real mexican sodas and coke with real sugar, plus free menudo on fridays Tips?: 5 types of salsa or more. Dark smoky red one is not always available but is the best. Yellow oily watery alcoholic one with big chunks of pepper in it is delicious. And: Amazing customer service. The teenage boy and young girl are absolutely adorable. The owners are great too. The female chefs are lovely, if very busy. They've served me at 8.57pm even though their food takes 15 min to make, and they close at 9! Fantastic. Warning: only open 3 days a week. Fri, Sat, Sun - late morning, until 9pm. Don't here too close to 9. If you do, then get it to go. If this were a high fashion taco outlet, it'd be Ralph Laurenzo's. Whereas if Mariska Hargitay owned it, it'd be Lorenzo & Order: Sope Victims Unit. But then we'd have problems, and I don't think we could solve 'um. The amazing smoky salsa does look like "bad blood" come to mention it. Not that I know much about blood. Unless I'm drinking it in the middle of the night while avoiding crosses. I can't believe this exists in WNY. Not only is it authentic, it's one of the most delicious taquerias in the country. It caters almost entirely to Mexicans. Several employees don't even speak English. It's part of a Latin grocery store filled with delights. But the true gems are the hot prepared foods coming out of the kitchen. They only make 3 things here, if you don't count the delicious, greasy Menudo they hand out free on Fridays. (1) Amazing tacos. (2) Even better Sopes. (3) Very good Tortas. While the tortas are fantastic and the bread is heavenly, I'd recommend skipping them, since (a) they cost $8, and (b) the $5 versions down the road in Medina (Monte Alban Truck) are even better and covered in Mexican white cheese. But if you do get a torta here, smother it in the smoky dark red salsa, and always ask for avocado on it. The food is from Chihuahua in NE Mexico, by the Texas border. The tacos are heaven. The sopes are better. They're similarly sized and priced (around $2 each or 5 for $7), but they're quite different. Tacos are floppy soft corn tortillas, 2-ply, loaded with bits of your meat of choice, plus onions and cilantro, then salsa, radish & lime on the side. Sopes are harder, thicker, greasier squidgy doughy chewy fried corn bases, like a mini pizza bases, topped with meat of choice as well as cream, cheese, onions, cilantro and whatever else. Similar to "picaditas". The sopes win, although both are perfect. Meat choices: Cabeza and Tripa - brain and intestines, nah. Lengua - tongue, nah, but my brother had it, loved it. Asada - bits of steak, delicious. Pollo - I usually skip chicken but the spiced, marinaded, smoky flavour here is amazing. Carnitas - really good stewed pork, give this one a try. Barbacoa - juicy, similar to Carnitas with beef. Worth a try. Pastor - star of the show. Dark, smoky, delicious marinaded pork. Asada, Pollo and Pastor are my faves. There's a reason Lorenzo's only makes 3 things, and why it's always packed. It's absolutely freaking delicious. Salsas: Green - hot, tastes a little of guac. Light Red - very hot, tastes of fire. Dark Red - hot, deep, dark, smoky and rich, by far the best one. Yellow - super hot, do not try it. Yellow with bits of peppers visible in it - hot, delicious, made with alcohol, the 2nd best. Try all 5 but be careful. They are so hot, they will burn your mouth out. Also you can get Jarritos soda (try Mandarina and Tamarindo) here. And Mexican Coke regular (1.85) and medio litro (2.50). All soda made with real cane sugar and you can really taste it. One of the best taquerias in the USA. You absolutely must get out here and try it. It makes no sense that Lorenzo's exists so close to Rochester and Buffalo - two cities with no authentic Mexican (except the home cooking of Buffalo's Valle - tacos and tortas are not the best items). Need affordable lease housing? Look for "low-rent-homes." Packet of mints just fell onto the floor? They're "low-mentos." Have an intimate knowledge of the former Fu-Gees singer? Then you know "Laurynsholes." And you know you'd better watch out. Some girls are only about that thing. But this is not that thing, nor any of those things. This is Lorenzo's.
