Sales person on the phone is very rude and dismissive when I mixed up this location with one previously owned in the Galleria mall. I feel as though they discriminate based on whether or not you speak Korean and discriminate based on their inability to speak English. I was hung up on rudely rather than politely redirected to the correct location. Buyer beware! Creature of habit and have been going to the original location on Vermont for ages. Comparable if not more selection on site. Note, both locations can get whatever you want by ordering directly for you. If anyone's wondering, optometrist is also awesome and native English speaking. Definitely where you want to go if you need both eyes checked and prescription. Large selection of mostly designer brands. read more

It has been 28 years to come over here for all my family members sunglasses glasses and their optometric services including free check sight with optimal service when u have sunglasses or glasses. My dad had 3 different glasses for himself . I have 2020 vision so i got sunglass this time. We coming at least 2 times per year. He was extremely helpful in breaking down the prices and the benefits of each material the glasses was composed of. He was patient in answering my numerous questions and offered to always be there for help if ever needed. Came here to get my son an eye exam for glasses and while he's in the exam the optometrist talk about contacts with him...of course he's kinda interested (btw he's 13) and so does a contact lens exam which is an additional $95. Then gives him samples and shows him how to put them in and charges a "fitting" fee of $65! Seriously? For showing him for 30 sec. Utterly ridiculous. Never again. read more

I have been coming to Italee optics for almost 20 years on Vermont near Olympic. I missed Saturday and they told me they have a store #229 in Western plaza open Sunday. I went same great service. They looked up my history in the computer and assisted me in filling my prescription. Im a Kaiser member but itallee has a more high end selection and better pricing. I was a little shocked when Kaiser started me off with no name glasses lenses at 575. or refill prescription using old frames for 475. Back to itallee for a reality check. Very accommodating and refill prescription lenses only using my frame $3&&. Much better price and promised 4 day delivery. Im going back Thursday to pick up my new glasses. Their customer service heavily depends on which salesman you end up with. Some of the workers are very rude and pushy. There are plenty of other stores and boutiques nearby that provide better service and discounts. This is definitely not a four star venue. read more

i LOVE this place! Whenever I find sunglasses/glasses that I want, I always come here 2nd to find them. Usually they carry them and if not most of the time they can order them for you. I noticed that their retail price is usually cheaper than the retail price at american places AND on top of that they ALWAYS give you a discount and NO TAX too!!! The only thing they don't really discount on is prescription lenses. Yesterday I went in and got myself the latest Chanel sunglasses, a pair of ray-ban glasses with prescription lens, eye exam, free samples of contact lenses...all for $450! The Chanels, alone cost normally $340 and that's not including tax. The only thing I don't like about this place is that one of the workers recognizes me and KNOWS I love sunglasses and exactly what types I like, and even though I'm not looking for sunglasses he'll come up to me with a pair that he knows I'll like and I end up buying them. doh! read more

After consulting with Kaiser, LensCrafters, and iLA... Italee was my last stop to purchase new specs. Kaiser had a decent pair and it was inexpensive. But not exactly what I was looking for (I'm picky about my style of frames). Hoping for a better selection, I went to LensCrafters and they had two frames I liked. The price however was astronomical: between $500-600. Then I went to iLA, and they had a so-so selection. I managed to find a pair but decided to give Italee a look. They had an inexpensive pair of Paul Frank frames and Chris (the guy who helped me) gave me a discount, too. Nearly, $250 cheaper than Lenscrafters! The turnaround was great. I came in Monday and got my new eyeglasses on Wednesday! Free Parking validation too. I can't wait to buy a second pair... read more

I was overdue for an eye exam and decided to come here as it was conveniently walking distance from my place and they accept walk-ins, so I was able to get a new eye prescription and contacts the same day! PARKING: Italee Optometry is located in the Koreatown Plaza so they have a parking structure, which is great especially in Koreatown. Be sure to validate your parking! I believe it's good for three hours. AMBIENCE: Very clean and bright. PRICING: I don't have vision insurance, but the prices were fair. The eye exam was $65, and 6-months worth of contacts were $140, which is the same price as 1-800 Contacts, which is where I would've bought my contacts otherwise. SERVICE: Dr. Elizabeth Noh took care of my eye exam and was very thorough, professional, and knowledgable. She really goes through the process of everything she is doing while also encouraging and answering any questions I had. I was concerned there would be a language barrier coming here originally, but there was no issue at all. Every worker who I encountered here was very friendly and efficient. I was in and out within an hour at most. What more can you ask for? read more

My wife got a pair of Kawasaki frames here which are not only difficult to find but very expensive even online. There prices here were not only $40 cheaper than the retail price of their closest competitor but $10 cheaper than that same competitor's "discounted" price. Service is fine except if you don't know Korean you'll be kind of lost (like most of the places in K-town). Fortunately, Im Korean but if you're not, you should probably take your token Korean friend with you. :) Very good experience overall. read more

I recently came here to get new glasses.. I absolutely loved the upgraded technology they use to take your eye exam. I've wore glasses, practically all my life and I must say their exam was a breeze! Very quick & impressive!! my only complaint- sale assistant was too pushy having me try on frame after frame.. not really giving me space to show my boyfriend and have HIM help me decide, He was a cool dude, just needs to back off a bit. When I came to pick up my glasses I notice another sales man opening a Prada cabinet that I was never aware off, and saw super cute glasses... except I'd already paid half for the pair I initially chose, I was bummed... still, good experience. read more

This store is located within the Korean mall and is not its own standalone store. You may want to check out the other locations in here as well. If they don't have the glasses you want, they can order it. They also take insurance but your selection of glasses is limited at that point. read more

Avoid this place. Optometrist got prescription for glasses wrong and when I went back to have them corrected, they wanted to charge me again for the lenses. Two things wrong with this place. Terrible optometrist who got prescription wrong and horrible customer service for wanting to charge again for their mistake. Also, they overcharge for their frames. I didn't comparison shop beforehand and when I checked online sites, the same glasses were substantially less online. Why go here when there are thousands other optometrists to go to. Never again. I read somewhere recently about this place as being pretentious, and not worth the price. I don't know what that lady had for breakfast that day, but I personally am a lifetime customer. My mother is Korean and followed this company from the motherland. She's told me how she's attempted "cheaper" places, with much dismay. I can understand how this kind of place may be intimidating (they have a GREAT selection of the latest eye-wear!), however in the 10 years I've been there as a customer, they were always frank, courteous, and generous (yesterday a gentleman knocked off $50 from my prescription glasses). I got my glasses at italee and was able to pick up my order fairly quickly. The problem is that the eyeglass pads were put in upside down! Since I live far from italee, I went to another place to have them adjusted. That's where I was informed the eyeglass pads were placed upside down. After l wear the glasses for a long time, I get a headache because the glasses become very heavy. I've never had this problem before with my prescription being filled at other places. It's probably the "glass" material they use for the lenses, as the frame itself is of a light material. For the price I paid for the glasses, I would expect better quality of service. I had gotten my eye check up by the optometrist and the doctor and the nurse were actually super nice and not intimidating like I thought for some reason. The doctor and I talked during the exam and really put me at ease. They were able to make my glasses in the same day after about 30 mins. It was my first time getting glasses and it was actually very awkward to try different styles out but I think it turned out great and they have numerous choices. After I put the glasses on for the first time it seemed like my world got so much bigger and clearer. It was amazing, like the world I was living in was much clear than I was seeing. I am also a bit older than most people who get glasses for the first time. I was want to say thank you. I'm very grateful I can actually see the world again! read more

There are a lot of unique glasses and posh name brands in here. Customer service is a hit or miss. When buying glasses it was great. When I went to pick them up the staff didn't check the fit and I had to point out that the glasses sat crooked on my face. Typically optical shops ensure it sits well on your face so you walk out with fitted frames and a happy customer, but today was a different story. Nevertheless I would choose this location over the Vermont one. read more
