They took a look over my insurance, which doesn't offer a Vision plan apparently, but they figured out how to bill as medical, and it did offer $200 for frames. Free exam. The place I went to on the Westside said no Vision coverage so total would be $550. I walked out of France Vision paying $50 which was co-pay. Advice, call and make an appointment, not necessary, but helps speed things along. Overall, I learned my lesson, stick with what worked for over a decade.

The people saying that it's too expensive have clearly never looked up the retail price of frames online and don't understand the materials and labor differences it takes to make a pair of Mykita or Lindberg glasses as opposed to something plastic or made from stainless steel. If you can't afford it, then please just calmly take your business somewhere else. The opticians and the optometrists, especially the lady optometrist, are the nicest and the most hardworking people. Placing a bad review because of a clear language and culture barrier is weird! You won't find anywhere else that will only charge $50 for an eyeglasses exam w/out insurance. Not only that, but they will never put cheap, plastic lenses in your glasses. To speak from personal experience, I have had TERRIBLE optometry experiences at OTHER establishments. One time, I went to a fully English-speaking, opthamologist-staffed, in-house optician establishment. They somehow managed to get my prescription wrong even after I told them that I couldn't see out of one eye at the time because of a cornea abrasion, then they put in an offensively blue-purple bluelight filter on my glasses, and while I was only changing lenses at the time, I noticed that they had really ugly frames. I was pretty desperate for help then because of said cornea abrasion and was in a different state, but if I had the choice I would have just gone to the tried and true!!! Support local businesses. Really cherish your eyes, even if it means spending more money and investing a little more into something that's lighter, less likely to corrode, and more likely to last you longer than GlassesUSA.
