We adore this local gem. Local tip they have a few private parking spots the back through the alley so you have the choice of street parking or their private parking. We got a salty pizza that we couldn't eat. Usually, we never return meals, but we politely asked the waiter to make us something else while one slice of the pizza was left on the table. The waiter put our replacement order last, and it took 35 minutes to get the second meal. Meanwhile, we had to feed our 2-year-old son because he was extremely hungry. It honestly felt like the waiter, or maybe even the chef, purposely made us a very small pasta portion compared to the usual size. To be fair, the pasta itself wasn't bad. We then asked for another pasta dish (our third order). When we asked the waiter for the ETA, she told us it would take 35 minutes or more. We were shocked -- 35 minutes for a pizza that normally takes 8-9 minutes to make? I worked in professional restaurants for 8 years, and it should not take more than 10-12 minutes, maybe 15 minutes max. At that point, we refused to stay and asked for the check. By the way, the restaurant wasn't even busy. They still charged us for the slice of pizza, and honestly, I don't mind the money. What bothered me was that the pizza was not good, and when we brought up the issue, the waiter didn't seem to care at all about the service or the long wait times. read more

Service definitely needs improvement. Place was HOT !! I needed more water, but waitress was nowhere to be found. I've been here plenty of times and service has always seemed to be an issue. Not ever with me personally, but with the parties I've come with. We've experienced servers forgetting plates or bringing food out when everyone else is already done eating. I could see this place being better suited for smaller parties or couples, or maybe they just need more servers. Either way, when it gets busy it seems like this is where the issues start. This time I came on my lunch and the food came out fairly quick, no issues. Portions are on the smaller end. I do like that the pasta is made in house and the chef makes it all fresh. Lasagna was a good size and tasty, I just personally didn't care for the sauce too much. Still worth trying though! The pasta was fresh and soft. The mushroom ravioli - 1000/10 !! Loved every bite! The pasta tasted sooo fresh and the sauce was chefs kiss ! Boy oh boy do I love flan and let me telll you.. this one knocked it out the park! Never have I ever had an orange flan before and it was soooo AMAZING. Texture was perfect and exactly the way I like it! Also loved that it wasn't super sweet. Creme brulee - 1000/10 ! I would come back on less busy days and avoid weekends, but definitely try it for yourself! Street parking is available, but fills up fast on busy days. Had to update my review because the last two times we've been here it was pretty underwhelming. Tonight our seice. Maria took our drinks orders and then meal orders after droppung of our iced teas. She didnt come back until 30 min later with our dishes. She rushed off before we could ask for refills. We had to ask for her to be notified that we wanted refills on our iced teas. The pesto that accompanied our pork maiale was very thin and clear in color. We got a side of pesto which was creamy and green. The pork was a little dry. Sorry for the late review... 08/06/25 - Went here with friends around 6pm. There is not dedicated parking for this restaurant, only street parking. From the outside, just looks like a small door and with a small window but it's actually bigger inside. This is more on the older decor, but not bad at all. I ordered the pasta with mushrooms and steak with it. I ordered my steak medium and they did a good job. My dish was so yummy. I also ordered a drink this time. I had the white sangria and it was soooo refreshing and yummy. Also tried the red one and it was good too. I preferred the white one though. This has to be one of my favorite restaurants in all of SD!!!! I've been coming since 2022 and it easily became a spot I've craved endlessly. My usual order is the house-made warm bread with oil and vinegar to dip, caesar salad to share, the truffle mushroom ravioli and then a tiramisu to finish. I feel that finding such high quality and affordable Italian food, with such a chill and cozy atmosphere is very hard to find here. I've always thought, "Little Italy could never! I'm also neurodiverse and have sensory struggles, so going to restaurants can be challenging at times. With the low lighting, comfortable couch seating, kind service, chill music- you feel right at home and relaxed here! This last time I went, I noticed that the filling in the ravioli was different and had a much too strong taste of vinegar. My partners pasta was also overpowered with vinegar. We unfortunately had a difficult time finishing our food and left with an upset stomach. I'm not sure if it was just that one time, but I'd love to see this change in the future so I can continue ordering my favorite dish without worry. The pasta itself is nice and bouncy. Sauces were rich and creamy. The maccheroni and cheese said crab meat, but it's flavorless, you could say it felt misleading. I wasn't familiar with this dish, and would've preferred something else. The chicken carbonara has pork in it. This was a special item so it didn't have a descriptor. Although it was a nice surprise for us, it may not be for someone who can't eat pork, so be forewarned. The home bread was excellent is a must if you come here. Overall, 3/5. Service was average and we were seated quickly on a Thursday night. Food was 3.5/5, felt okay for pasta but nothing to write home about. read more

The only problem with this place is the kitchen is slow or they don't have enough staff because it takes forever to get your food. Wow! What a great experience. Our server, Gustavo, was fantastic. When we arrived, there were no other tables; however it quickly filled up. Gustavo was just as friendly, attentive, and informative while handling 6 large tables as he was when it was just us. I ordered the boscaiola with pappardelle, and added salmon. On my way back from Las Americas Mall, I had a craving for something delicious. In the past, I've visited Italianissimo, but this time I decided to change it up and give Italgo Pasta Bar a try. I'm glad I did! This cute little place is located right on Broadway. Although the parking is limited, I managed to find a spot right on the street. The menu offers a variety of authentic favorites, and I ended up choosing the homemade bread to start. For dinner I had the Tagliata flat iron steak, marinated with rosemary, and served with a side of linguine pasta in their lemon caper sauce. This combination was simply delicious. Chula Vista is full of charming mom-and-pop restaurants, and I always enjoy eating local when exploring new areas. We were impressed with the restaurant upon arrival as the dining area was decorated with Christmas lights, trees, and holiday themed items. We were served by Sarahi and she took great care of us! We ordered their house bread, Caprese salad, mushroom ravioli, and their large meat pizza. We got a large bottle of Saratoga sparking water. The pace of our food coming out was on point, Sarahi checked on us regularly to make sure all was going well. LOVED: Caprese (plenty of fresh mozzarella cheese & tomatoes), and mushroom ravioli. LIKED: meat pizza (tasty but Italgo is called a pasta bar for a reason, it won't threaten to put a pizza house out of business) but it was reasonable, fresh, served hot, and was tasty enough to order again. We came here to celebrate my parents anniversary by coincidence at first they had said they wanted to go to another Italian spot that was very busy and long wait around the corner.. and being that we were hungry and didn't want to wait about an hour to be seated we searched yelp that led us to Italgo and we were so glad we came. The food was great my family and I shared a pizza and 2 different pasta dishes spaghetti and fettuccine Alfredo were amazing! When we came in we were seated right away and there were other families and couples enjoying their dinner. We were glad we accidentally stumbled in here and will definitely be coming back. At the end they even brought a dessert to celebrate my parent's anniversary that was really sweet of them. Italgo has a pizza of my heart. I would go there with a family friend and our kids since they opened. Now we knew it would be an experience. We weren't expecting food to pop out in warp speed. Went here several times when they first opened. It's been a while, but came back this past weekend for a friend's birthday event. It's a small/cozy restaurant with intimate yet casual vibes. Clean with nice decor. Two separate dining rooms, our most recent party of about 30 took up most of the second area. There was a bit of a wait for our food, but the servers and staff handled our large party well. They were kind and attentive. Don't come here if you want something in a rush. We were given Bread with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar, a charcuterie board, bruschetta, and their soft mozzarella to start. All these appetizers were tasty intros to our meal. Lots of cheese and bread, it's easy to get full from these appetizers. Husband ordered their ribeye special. Multiple people in the group ordered ribeye, and I noticed some ribeye were boneless while others were bone-in. It may have been because of our large group, but my husband ordered medium and he was given steak that was well done. Even then, the steak was juicy, well seasoned and relatively tender in that well done state lol. I ordered the salmon pasta w citrus cream. Noodles were al dente, lots of sauce and quite satisfying. Didn't get too much lemon flavor.. would've liked a little more. The kids got chicken Alfredo and a pepperoni pizza. They were happy! Very pleased with all our experiences dining here. However, we came on a Monday night at 5:30pm definitely not a busy day or any peak hours, food took a very long time to come. I am a bit surprised. Overall taste is okay. The Italian soda was yummy and have many different options for flavor but honestly half of it was ice. Pasta was in the more greasy side so I don't love it. Meatball is yummy, pasta's texture was good just too greasy on the sauce. The homemade bread is a very small portion of focaccia. Decent but nothing too impressive. As for authenticity, I honestly don't think they are authentic Italian food. Not that I am a great judge since I never went to Italy. I have been to many high rating "supposedly authentic" Italian restaurants and I will say this is very different from those "authentic ones". Decided to check this place out since I heard great things. It is definitely unassuming from the outside, but very spacious inside! We started with an Italian soda and orange juice for him. The complimentary bread and olive oil/vinegar combo was really good. The bread was fresh and soft, but dense. I ordered the beet carpaccio and proscuitto, but realized it was beets instead of beef when it arrived LOL. They said it was a common confusion, but I'm glad I tried this app because it was really light and yummy. The shrimp taglioni was my favorite! The pasta was cooked perfectly and it was so flavorful! The rigatoni and margherita pizza were both great as well, so you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. For dessert, we shared the creme brulee and he got a glass of white wine. I've always loved going to Italgo! My partner and I have been going here since 2021. It's amazing to see a business grow. We always get the main course! I specifically get chicken all the time because it's a pretty big serving, and I think it's worth it for the price. I know it looked burnt in the picture, but it's not always like that. The chicken is cooked perfectly and it's very juicy! I change the pasta sauce from time to time and I personally liked the chicken with the cream sauce. You used to be able to choose your own pasta a couple years ago. Now, you only get one option for the pasta w/ the main course. The white sangria is the best! It's sweeter compared to the red sangria. The wait time for Italgo is pretty long, but the food is worth it. I guess it's a good date place to get to know somebody, you just can't go starving because you'll have to wait. The service is good and the servers are pretty attentive! The place used to be darker or there wasn't a lot of lights. It's a lot better now :) I've seen people celebrate their birthdays here and can accommodate large groups. read more

I stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere to go to dinner. It is just a little hole-in- the wall on Broadway, but it is beautiful inside! The decor really makes the atmosphere. As for main dishes, we got the Pappardelle, spaghetti with chicken, gluten-free pasta with tomato sauce and chicken and gluten-free pasta with creamy sauce and chicken. It was so delicious and flavorful! I throughly enjoyed my gluten free pasta and everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. It was a Monday evening and not very busy, service was great and friendly.
