The service was amazing. We just moved to the area and got sat with Emily. She took great care of us and gave great recommendations. Jimmy stopped by the table and greeted us. Whenever I'm on the northeast side of Houston and looking for a meal, I think of Italiano's as there are 3 in this general area and I think people that live around here are lucky. I visited this restaurant for lunch last weekend for the first time at this location. This is a smaller restaurant than the others but the food is just as good. My order was a special not currently on the menu. It was lobster ravioli Florentine for $19 that also came with a side salad. First to arrive was a basket of complimentary garlic knots which were delicious and a different take on the traditional bread basket. Shortly later the side salad arrived with iceberg greens, sliced tomatoes, purple onions and ranch salad dressing. It was good tasting but had a little too much dressing dolloped on top. The entree arrived about 10 minutes later with plenty of ravioli stuffed with lobster along with shrimp on top all bathed in a creamy Florentine sauce. This meal was very good tasting and I enjoyed it. This was an enjoyable and filling meal. Also the table service was prompt and professional. The app said it would be available at 4:57 so we showed up and waited an additional 10 minutes, when we got home, they forgot the chicken in our pasta dish. Italiano's has been a go to restaurant for us for 10+ years and we have always enjoyed the delicious food. However, we stopped in yesterday around 2:30pm for a late lunch and to miss the lunch crowd. They were not busy at all, and in fact we got a rare parking spot right in front of the door! Upon entering, we waited a couple of minutes before anyone acknowledged us, but were finally taken to a table and told someone would be right with us. We waited 15 minutes at our table - enough time for both of us to make restroom stops, and still no one acknowledged us with a "be right with you" or anything. There were only two to three tables with customers that were eating. We could see all the wait staff behind the area where drinks are prepared, and they appeared to be just chatting. We finally got up to leave, and I just said to the women behind the cashier counter - "No Service Today???" and we walked out. She started apologizing to us and trying to get us to stop, but when we continued on out the door, we could hear her loudly talking to the staff - what are you doing, etc. I'm not sure if this was a one-off bad experience with them, but it will be some time before we stop back in to see. I ordered a pizza WITHOUT Olives for carryout and received a pizza with OLIVES. I placed the order online and even included a generous tip with the payment. My order NOTES field said "NO OLIVES" When I went in to pick it up I even told the restaurant associate my pizza was ordered WITHOUT Olives and he said I have it right here and opened the box to confirm it. Mistake one. There were olives on the pizza. Mistake two. The associate didn't show it to me. Mistake three. I didn't ask to see it. I have been too trusting obviously. Mistake four. I called and told them what I needed and they were very helpful with how much to order. I ordered 3 large trays of chicken penne, 2 large trays of lasagna, 2 trays of salad and rolls. Everything was very delicious. Everyone loved the food. Their portions were large and plentiful. I only regret not taking pictures of the set up.
