What I liked best about this little German shoppe was the extra "oompf" of the bakery goods. The owner was nice and personable, fielding our questions about all the goodies. Worth checking out!

I went for donuts and the local shop was closed. Lucky break, because it led me to find the nearest bakery and I found this gorgeous shop. Owner Susan greeted me and offered so much info and to show me everything that she has in the bakery case. I bought over a dozen baked goods and a quiche. Everything was yummy and beautiful. The shop itself is so cute! Susan is German and the shop looks like a quaint German shop. The walls are painted with flourishes and the shelves and display cases are packed full of goodies from baked goods to tea tins to small gifts.

Chocolate Chip Shortbread, Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

We stopped in here after having lunch next door to pick up some treats for our family - the shop itself feels like granny's bake shop, very cute but overwhelmed with product. All of the pre-packed treats looked delicious, some outsourced not from the bakery. However, the pastries in the case looked very stale - to the point where I questioned if they were display items. To be safe, we got some oatmeal raisin cookies & chocolate chip shortbreads - the main reason for my low rating is that these two items were $30, absolutely insanely high pricing. These were a gift to our family so I was just going to pay to give them the treats, but otherwise I would've put them back. The good side is that both cookies were good! Oatmeal raisin was soft and chewy, the chocolate chip shortbread buttery and flakey. Nothing too special though for the price pint.

First time coming to this bakery and it didn't disappoint! Plenty for you to choose from! Fresh pastries, pies, macrons, speciality popcorn, chocolates & the list goes on! Even doggie cookies! (No pic, gave them to my baby & he loved them!) There was 1 big wild berry homemade pie. I bake myself, this pie, a 10!!! Absolutely delicious!!!! More on the pricey side, but worth every bite! Enjoy! The owner is super sweet & friendly!

Terrible macaroons! Stale and fell apart. $32.00 for this mess

What an absolute rip off! $32.00 for 6 macaroons and 2 shortbread cookies. The macaroons were absolutely disgusting and stale! They seem old and have been sitting for ... idk a month?! Wish we wouldn't have paid cash so I could dispute the charges. Terrible... and nothing had pricing on it! $32.00!? Wth

Amazing chocolate cake! With importedBelgium Chocolate and frosting to die for.

The best chocolate cake we ever had! Bought the amazing cake for dad's 90th bday, and he said it was the best cake he has enjoyed in his 90 years! It made his birthday celebration even more special. Thank you, Susan...You are gifted! We could tell you put some extra TLC into this cake for him. Will return for every special occasion moving forward!

Photo of Cake on Divine Bakery Website - Cake I Ordered

Review the negative reviews, Now I know they are accurate and I wish I had considered them prior to losing $100 plus at this merchant. I encourage persons reading to look for a more honest baker/bakery, one that is not over-priced and advertises products where they change or modify ingredients including the look of the product from a picture clearly posted on their website! Divine Bakery stands among the quirky, cute shops of Cave Creek, but it is not divine. The owner Susan agreed to make a cake for Sunday 10/27/24 for me. I called Friday 10/25 asking for availability of her European Mocha Fudge Cake, as pictured and named on her website! I assumed this was a popular product and at least would be available as a whole cake or slices on Saturday 10/26. An associate Barbara, I believe shared she would have to call the baker and that the cake could maybe be made last minute, but would cost extra. Instead of the usual $25-30 extra, they charged ~$10 extra to make the cake last minute. In total, I was charged $107.46 on my credit card on Friday 10/25. I did think this was a very expensive charge for a cake and wished I had said no to the purchase at that time. There is no cake price list on Susan's website. The picture of the cake I was to receive and the ingredients (for example fudge and mocha) were not part of the cake I received. This was a weird texture chocolate cake with buttercream that did not taste good or like any buttercream I had in the past. I emailed Susan Sunday evening requesting a 75% refund, to which she immediately went into defensive mode about her product, sharing she made it last minute and pretty much not as it usually is made, adding, or doing extra things for the cake I received. That is even more weird. Susan was defensive and she also texted anticipating I guess that I would write a bad review. I usually do not write reviews unless something is very wrong. Susan's lack of awareness and humility in perhaps something being wrong told me to at least be honest and warn others. Susan kept trying to offer a $25 gift credit to return to her bakery, but her cake texture was so off-putting, I would prefer to stay away from anything she bakes and I do not live near Cave Creek. I would never return a cake and understand the rules on perishable products, but she kept discussing that as well. I felt foolish for spending a $100 on a cake 8-10 inches and hope to spare others from making a similar mistake at Divine Bakery. See some copies of Susan's texts below and the picture of the cake on her website compared to what I received.

Excellent Bakery...Love this place. My favorite is the baklava...fresh, made with real ingredients and comes in bite sized portions.

You walk up and order, get a number, grab a table, and they bring you everything. The coffee drinks are amazing. The lavender honey latte, the cookie butter cold brew, and the red velvet latte are downright addicting. The veggie wrap is awesome, as are the scones with brie. The butternut squash omelet is also a favorite. I don't know if they make their sourdough bread there, but I've never had better. We grabbed some pastries to go this time as well, so I can't wait to try them. It gets busy but they really hustle to keep everyone happy.

I would definitely give this place 5 stars for ambience. It totally reminds me of Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants. The attention to detail was on point. I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk and asked if the matcha was gluten free and the server seemed a little annoyed and handed me the bag of matcha. I could not tell from the bag if it was or not but I ordered it anyways. I was really hungry but didn't want a salad at 8am. My latte came out in a paper cup and tasted ok. I wanted to love this place but it wasn't for me but definitely would be great for gluten patrons and for the atmosphere.

This review is strictly for the cupcakes - not the customer service- it was very lackluster…read more Tried Small Cakes for the first time this week and had a hard time deciding which cupcakes to try. So many wonderful choices. We went with four Peanut Butter Cup Cupcake If you love peanut butter and chocolate, this cupcake is hard to resist. It features a rich chocolate cake topped with smooth peanut butter cream cheese frosting. A sprinkle of crumbled peanut butter cups adds the perfect finishing touch. Decadent, balanced, and full of flavor, it's a must-try for anyone who loves this classic combination. Red Velvet Cupcake This cupcake reminds you why red velvet has stood the test of time. The cake is soft, moist, and lightly chocolatey, while the cream cheese frosting is smooth, tangy, and perfectly sweet. Every bite is rich, fluffy, and gone before you know it. A classic done right! Vanilla Cupcake with Pink Buttercream Don't let its simple appearance fool you--this cupcake is anything but ordinary. The vanilla cake is light, fluffy, and moist, while the pretty pink buttercream is silky, sweet, and piped generously on top. It's a timeless classic that proves vanilla never goes out of style. Chocolate Cream Cupcake Calling all chocolate lovers--this one is for you! A rich, moist chocolate cake with buttercream before being topped with a decadent fudge frosting and a swirl of even more buttercream. It's rich, chocolatey, and every bite feels like a celebration. It's a shop that we will visit again. Our dilemma will be to get what we know is wonderful or try one of the other terrific options.
