Cute French themed bakery located in Scottsdale with a lot of food options. The service was phenomenal and the cashier had a distinct french accent. There are tables inside the restaurant and outside of the restaurant. While it was hot outside (in the 90s) the shade and wind made it extremely comfortable to sit outside. The bakery itself was extremely cute and new bakery items were consistently being brought out and restocked. I came with my (extremely picky) mom and she really enjoyed Paris Rendez-Vous. We both got the Ham and Cheese Croissant to stay, it had bechemal sauce inside of the sandwhich adding a nice creaminess. The to stay dish does cost a few dollars more than the to go dish. This is because you are served and also it comes with a light salad with Italian dressing. The salad was a nice addition to the sandwhich, it added the perfect amount of freshness. My mom got an apricot cheese danish to go, and she wishes she would have grabbed 3 more, she is insistent that they are the best vanishes that she has ever had in Arizona...so I would recommend checking that out. I absolutely loved this Parisian cafe!! it took me straight back to Paris. The owners were speaking French and it felt like every customer was also fluent in French. Which to me, is the sign of an authentic French cafe. And they were so kind. Everything looked delicious! I wanted to try it all. I went with the savory French classic crêpe, and it was so good! Fabulous all around. Very impressed with this terrific French bakery and disappointed that I hadn't discovered it until today. Croissant = 10/10. No question. Flaky, buttery, crisp on outside with melting softness on inside. Same with their Pain Chocolate, beyond fabulous. Tried a dessert called Le Louvre. Stop everything you're doing and eat this. The chocolate is SO perfect in sweetness, texture and the lingering taste after your last bite - oh!!! Fabulous. Also tried the macarons. Pistachio was the fave but passion fruit also terrific. I was doing some last-minute holiday shopping in the area and happened to spot this shop at a glance while passing by and decided to drop by and take a look after finishing up my shopping. We were warmly greeted right away and given ample time to browse over their selection before deciding on which items to get. We did come around midday, so a lot of their baked goods were sold out. In the end, we decided to get a berry fruit tart and a quiche Lorraine to take home. Berry fruit tarts are one of my favorites, and theirs was simply superb. The crust wasn't too hard, the berries were well balanced in quantity and the consistency of the custard was just right. As we were going to check out, I saw that they had a menu for savory and sweet crepes and couldn't resist ordering one to eat there. After looking over the options, I decided to go with a strawberry sweet crepe. It came out freshly warm with a good amount of strawberries and strawberry sauce drizzled on top. A hidden French gem! Friendly service going out of their way to accommodate the customers. They made me a dessert called tarte tropezienne for one of my French theme dinners and it was delicious . The croissants and pain au chocolat are scrumptious. I didn't try the crepes it is on my to do list. I am French and the food is fine, but the service is terrible. I have been there a couple of times since they opened. The male owner is one of the rudest people I have ever met. He is very disrespectful to staff and clients. I recently witnessed him arguing with another French lady, while some customers witnessed, about some advertising and he was criticizing her and his employees. I think she said that she didn't want to argue in front of clients and his behaviour is unacceptable. While we were waiting and witnessing this, we just looked at each other in shock. I was disgusted and left! I tried to find her because she seemed really upset but she must have left very fast. I had read about this store and was looking for macaroons to bring to a dinner party and also a little sweet gift for a friend's Anniversary. The store is in the Desert Ridge Mall. I went on a Wednesday when they open at 12:00. Very nice place and the owners that helped me were extremely nice. I bought 2 pick your own 6 packs (Raspberry, Tiramisu, Lemon, Nutella, Salted Caramel, and Dulche de Leche), plus 2 for my friend and I. So, you may laugh at me because my friend and I must be the only ones in the world who have never had a macaroon, so quit frankly I have nothing to judge by. I chose the Dulche de Leche and the Chocolate for my friend and I. I tasted this very dainty cookie filled with the Dulche de Leche... it was very good, but again, I have nothing to judge by. When I brought them to the dinner party the host was so delighted that I brought his favorite dessert. He tried one later that night and texted me this, exactly quoted "They were delicious!! Fresh, crispy outside and the flavors were excellent! I've had some where the flavors were so mild it was hard to identify. This isn't to just be polite they were great. This is an extremely well decorated dessert shop in the middle of an average looking plaza. The service was simply fantastic. We decided to try their macarons. The highest price is $3 per macacrons but the more you buy, the cheaper it gets. They had a wide variety of flavors and I was able to try pistachio, white chocolate, and red velvet. The pain chocolat is made with a lovely and gooey chocolate that is distributed through the pastry... unlike other local croissants I've had where they've inserted a small stick of chocolate in one center spot. The kids love Macarons and we were at Desert Ridge already so when in Rome.. or Paris in this case. We walked in on a Friday night and there wasn't anyone in there at the time. There is gelato, fudge and of course macarons. I loved that there were plenty of different flavors to choose from. We went with an order of 6 macarons. It was $14 and change for 6 of them which seemed kind of pricey to me. We got Passion fruit, blackberry chocolate, strawberry, mint and vanilla. They didn't care for the passion fruit (I tasted it and thought it was delicious) but both really loved the other flavors. The lady working, I assume the owner was quiet but friendly and checkout was easy. This is a small place that when you walk in you can't help but smile. It's clean, bright, and the pastries and macarons in the cases say welcome. And of course the crepes. Sweet or savory. I had the classic which had ham and cheese folded into a buckwheat crepe topped with a perfectly fried egg, accompanied with a small salad with a balsamic dressing. So good and filling. My wife went with a sweet crepe which had pears, almonds, whipped cream, a caramel sauce. It was so good, and somehow not overly sweet. Service was perfect. Stopped in to see if this place would be a good option for my elderly father who is wheelchair bound. Jeannie (front cashier/baker) was pleasant and outgoing and made us feel so welcome. I used to live in France and really appreciate good French food and this was spectacular! We split a quiche Lorraine (yum!) and a sweet crepe (the cinnamon sugar) and both were authentic and delicious. They also make beautiful pastries, croissants and macarons; even homemade fudge (sent some home with Dad). The owners are French, as is the head pastry chef, and I look forward to chatting with them in French next time. We will for sure return-- everything about this place was just perfect. I had walked by this shop every time I went to the movies and finally decided it was time to check it out! It's a pretty cute shop with a large selection of macaroon flavors. They have gelato too and I saw some fudge and chocolate pieces. We grabbed three macaroons to try. I'd never really experienced one so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was much softer than I anticipated. I quite liked them. We tried coconut, coffee and rose. The rose truly did taste like rose.. whatever that taste may be. I liked them though! Again, if I had more experience with macaroons I could speak more to their quality, but I was certainly pleased with them. The gelato was pretty standard but still a tasty treat. I tried the moccachino and my girlfriend tried the cherry vanilla. It was cool that they had something more jazzed up than just vanilla. Overall it's a little pricey but hey, they are macaroons and this is Desert Ridge. I'd like to return to try some other treats! OH MY GOD!! Today my husband brought me home an eclair with creme de patisserie he had made. I love eclairs and have eaten all over the country. We were actively looking for a dessert bar (apparently not a thing here) and found Paris Rendez-vous. It was a little after 9 and when we first arrived we were convinced it was closed. The lighting (while on) seemed low. Only one of the three neon signs was lit & it wasn't an "open" sign. There was nobody at the front counter. I tried the door and it opened. An attendant came out from around the corner. She didn't welcome us warmly but rather was just present. We smiled and she said something I couldn't hear through her mask that I assumed meant, "what can I get you?" We placed our order and she filled it. We paid, she thanked us and we left. While she wasn't at all rude, she was so timid that the experience came off as awkward and charmless. We consumed our little treasures outside where we saw other couples approach the store and walk away, I presume convinced that it was closed as well. Others tried the door and went in, but I couldn't help but wonder if this is common and how much business they must be losing to impression. The macarons, BTW, are phenomenal! You should buy from them if you are a fan. But I hope they develop more personality to capture more business. read more
