Couldn't get what I needed because they don't take cards under $10? It's 2021, get Venmo, PayPal, stripe, or one of the other millions of payment options. I've recently picked up thrift shopping as part of an easy weekend activity/hobby. Berkeley and SF has been fun to explore but I knew the best ones would be in LA. I'd been to this store before but decided to pop in when I was heading to the nail salon next door. This isn't your typical thrift shop. In fact, I'd say it's definitely one of a kind and the ONLY place you would find a store like this. Do you ever find yourself watching a show on TV and thinking, man...that's a really cute outfit. I wonder where she got it. Well, I can't tell you where it came from but I can tell you that there is a chance it will land here at It's A Wrap. The clothes are broken down by show and each item is labeled with the show it was worn on, if it was ever even worn. I found plenty of pieces that still had the original tags on. For you designer steal fiends like you me, go upstairs. That's where all the goodies are. I have been looking for a couple of more classic blazers and I hit the jackpot here. Literally, row after row after row of Theory, Vince, Boss, Max Mara...I was in heaven. In no time, I picked out more than I could hold in my hands to try on. I ended up with two Theory blazers (each retails for $400 and I got them for $150 TOTAL.) They have really good sales sometimes and I happened to be there when everything was an additional 50-75% off. SCORE. I hear there is new inventory arriving every day and it makes me glad that I am no longer in LA full-time or I would probably be here every weekend. But it's a fun place to check out and hey, next time I see that Shooter/Ryan Phillippe show, I'll keep an eye out for my new jacket. ;) read more

I found my wedding dress here for 325 dollars!! I wanted to note on Yelp so that if people search vintage bridal, used or preowned wedding dress, zero waste wedding, etc. that they will think of It's a Wrap! They had a ton of wedding dresses in the back of the store to try on. I am a size 4 and I will say they had a lot around size 4, not a ton of larger sizes. A mix of vintage and contemporary styles. Because these are from tv/movie sets they are also generally clean. I recommend shopping the Magnolia st. strip in general for vintage bridal because there are a bunch of shops - "Playclothes Vintage", Goodwill, and more and you could check out 5 or so shops in one day. The dress was marked at 650 but everything was half off for the month of April. Anyway, I just wanted to share this so when people search vintage bridal on Yelp this store will come up. They always have very interesting pieces to look through although I find that most of the women's sizes are smaller.

This is a really cool novelty resale shop. The clothing is mostly sorted by the movie it was worn in, so it's a little difficult to find something particular. I was looking for blazers and there just happened to be a blazer section in the back, so I got lucky. There are tons of men's dress shirts. A LARGE majority of the woman's clothing is a size small so be aware of that. I'm a size medium so a lot of stuff was too small, but I walked away with 3 items. Also make sure to check for stains and tears before purchasing something because a lot of the items were beat up and all sales are final. The upstairs has some really expensive designer clothing. Most of it was 50-70% off, but it was still often hundreds of dollars. The downstairs is more affordable. The woman checking us out was so slow. They have a very old fashion computer that they have to manually type in all of the items and prices. There were only 2 people in front of us in line and I'm not kidding when I say we waited 15 minutes. It felt like eternity. As soon as the woman in front of us left, they had to come back because one of the security tags wasn't cut off. Then, we had to wait for the cashier to find which item she forgot to cut it off of. There was another employee in the store, but he never came to help move the process along. Just make sure to give yourself plenty of time to look through the clothes and check out if you want to shop here. There are some hidden gems if you keep your eyes out! read more

Wall to wall clothing and accessories that have been unloaded by all the nearby studios. I saw everything from camouflage tops/bottoms to construction worker vests upstairs for Halloween costume ideas. Some prices seem like a steal, others are out of the park expensive. Knowing that some, if not all, of these clothing and accesories have been used in production doesnt make or break it for me. I'm definitely looking for quality at a good price. You can find it here if you're lucky and are willing to search and search. Store is 2 floors. The 2nd floor is geared for more costume type clothing. Downstairs you can find womens (left) and mens (right) dresswear and casual wear including a shoe rack. Parking is on the street along Magnolia. Read the signs. I believe it's 1 hour or 2 hour parking out front. read more

This place is amazing. I think 1/3rd of my shoes come from here. Amazing place for halloween costume pieces. As to what ppl say about high prices, 1. The more expensive stuff is legit designer. 2. Most of these clothes have been worn on average for maybe 20 hours, but usually more like 4 to 6. And I mean total. These are essentially brand new clothes, at least half price. 3. They are like always having a sale where approximately half the store is 50% off the ticket price. read more

I went to the store and bought some items, but they did not remove the censors. It's a long drive from where I live in West Hills. When I called to inform them, the receptionist did not even apologize or appear considerate. It is inconvenient for people who live a long distance away to return because they forgot to remove it. They should At least offer an apology or a refund for having to drive out there due to a mistake they made. read more

I was in desperate need to update my wardrobe without having to spend a bunch of money. Although I've shopped here a few times, I never really had a brag-able find...until now! I've been job searching forever now. Ok, more like 22 months but it feels like forever. I'm starting to think that my interviewing outfits are bad luck. The hardest thing for me to shop for are pants that fit well. Chances are slimmer at a thrift store. Yet, I found the perfect pair of office-chic brown pants. Guess what? Perfect fit! It even had the original store tag on it (retail $80) so there's a possibility it was never used. Not bad for $22! All of the clothes sold here are from the wardrobe departments of movie sets and tv shows. It's kinda cool to think about what projects these clothes have been a part of and which celebrities may have worn them. My new "job searching pants" had a tag on it that said "FLT" which is the code for the production it was in. I totally forgot to look up the code while I was in the store. But I'm hoping it was worn by someone who has good energy, good luck, and awesome experiences in their career. Job search clothes aside, I had no intention to buy shoes. Yet, I took a quick gander at the shoe rack only to spot the most beautiful pair of Nine West purple (my fav color) heels that I swear was meant for me to have because they were in my size!!! They were in great condition and looked practically brand new - even the soles. It was marked at $25 but since it had a "summer" tag on it, I got them for 50% off! We've been coming to It's a Wrap forever and we love it! They have an amazing variety of shoes, purses, jewelry and clothing for everyone from women, men, and children at great prices. Plus you are getting items that are in the shows and movies we watch. Some stuff is handmade for production while others still have their original tags from the store on them. Since filming has slowed a bit due to Covid there was not as much merchandise as usual but still great deals (entire store was an additional 75% off). Even great deals on some designer clothing. Went today with a printed flyer advertising "50% OFF ALL MONTH LONG" - meaning April 2017. The flyer was emailed to customers, but they refused to honor it, claiming that they had changed the terms of the sale. I spoke to multiple clerks and the manager; they all acknowledged what the flyer said but would not give me the promised discount. This is illegal and very disappointing because I was making a very large purchase and would definitely have been a repeat customer. Update: After emails and phone calls to the owner, I was credited the discount amount. Too much hassle, but at least the ultimate outcome was right. Had a horrible experience the other day trying to buy a bunch of stuff for a production I was working on. My arms were full of stuff I was purchasing and I asked the lady at the front where I could put it so I could continue shopping and she said "we can't hold items for customers" I explained I just couldn't carry it all and needed to put it down but she refused and said that was the policy. This is the stupidest policy I've ever heard, how am I supposed to carry everything around the store? I ended up buying much less than I intended because it was physically impossible for me. I used to LOVE going to It's A Wrap! They used to have fun sales and clothing from the studios; however, recently their customer service and management has been horrible. I had an issue with one one of their Sales Associates and have yet to hear back from a manager or an owner. I've heard their own sales associates complain about the owner who does not listen to them and made to work with outdated equipment. It seems this establishment does not care about long time customers in our community and only seek to turn a profit. The sales are not as good as they used to be and have so many contingencies on their pricing that it gets confusing for the customer. Unfortunately, I used to recommend this place to all of my out of town friends and coworkers and they would drive in to shop there. I will no longer be encouraging people to go there! read more

With all these similar comments and recommendations, you would think that the proprietor of this store would take those suggestions as a gift. Nearly everyone who has written here agrees that the concept of the store is unique and attractive. But the execution of it is poor. Disorganization and cleanliness of the product is paramount. To be successful, you also need competitive pricing - otherwise you are just another thrift store. Seems like you have your work cut out for you. But look at this as opportunity!. This is a store with an identity crisis and thinks it is Nordstrom when it is a thrift store. You used to be able to find really good deals here, now everything is overpriced and you can find pieces online in better condition, in different sizes, and you can return it. For instance, they sell nice designer shirts for $120.00, dresses for $250.00. The other thing about the sales are that there is usually always a sale, but some certain code is not on sale. Usually that code is the nice new stuff. Often you will go to purchase and then be told the item has a particular bar code that's not on sale. It's just not worth the time to dig through all the junk to find a steal and then find out that the item is priced more than retail. You're better off going to goodwill across the street and test your luck to find some nice clothes for actually cheap. read more

I had been to this store only twice. The first time was to find out what's in store and second time was merely to browse. The store's name is literally, it's a wrap. It carries wardrobes worn by actors and actresses either on tv shows or movies. They are sold here at the end of the tv series or movies. You can even see some of these wardrobes hanging in the walls but not for sale. Each rack is arranged and tagged from which show the wardrobes came from. One of the photos I posted shows items worn from dancing in the stars. In the two occasions I'd been here, I didn't buy any. Why? I feel that they are overly priced, unless they consider the sweat of the actors and actresses valuable. So, if drowning in Angelina Jolie's sweat is your cup of tea, go for it. Also, I find the sizes too small for me. Damn, these skinny actresses. I felt a slap in my face when I realized that "Yes, I'm fat". I should not come back here unless my figure is star material. read more

This place is awful. We just walked by and saw a whole garbage dumpster full of used clothes. There is a charitable gift shop right across the street. When I asked one of the workers why they're throwing all those good clothes away as opposed to donating, he said that's with the owner told me to do. Shame on these people read more

Some background: They get all the clothing, shoes, accessories from the sets of TV shows so some items have been worn, lightly used or even new. Omg! They just had a 50% sale and I got 7 pieces for $16!!! With brands like J Crew, Bebe, etc. costing a fraction of what you would originally pay for them. Also sometimes they have racks outside and the pieces there cost $1-$5!!! On the 2nd floor they high-end designer clothes. Even with the 50% sale most of the dress items still came up around $80-$150. The cashier said they have varying sales all the time. I was excited for this place when Reddit said it was LA's hidden gem. What could be better than buying clothes directly from the movie set? Well, I could only say that this store looks and feels like a legit second-hand store. Most of the clothes are out of style or require some level of fashion sense to style them. Also, kinda wish they wrote the name of the show on the tag somehow instead of just putting the show code. AS SEEN ON TV! :) Vintage clothes with a twist--a provenance from the costumers of TV show and movies. If you are, most of the clothes are marked with the production they were in. If you don't care--the clothes are interesting and the prices are reasonable--it's not a thrift store, but it's not high-end vintage, either. The store is well-organized and maintained, the staff is nice, and it's a fun place to shop for clothes that might have been worn by your favorite actor or actress. There was everything from t-shirts to high-end Italian suits, with lots of shoes (in very good condition since they weren't worn much) in between. There are even some funky movie props. Today they were having a "back to school sale" of 40% off everything in the store, so get on their mailing list to find out about their serious sales. read more

Went there on Saturday w my daughter. Saw some shoes we wanted to try on but there wasn't many seats. One was taken by somebody simply sitting in it. Another had a sign caution wet floor. Not wet seat. So we sat and started trying shoes on when an employee came over and said you can't sit there. I said oh ok. Sorry we'll move. The whole time he had a condescending tone and looked angry. He then said that's why there's a sign there. I said. Got it! Didn't feel like having a confrontation. But seriously? Fix your sign to state do not sit here. We put the shoes back and left. Y'all obviously don't need our money. Will never go back. What a nasty way of talking to somebody. read more

Not bad for a vintage or thrift type store, but when we overall just hype. I will say the store is clean, and pretty well organized. Racks that are not shambles like other places, but don't expect sizing to be organized. It's definitely not messy though. There are quite a few things that are not labeled price wise though so not a giant fan of that. As for the selection it is pretty broad; dresses, tops, and coats. However, most things are from season and styles that are years old. Things do loop around but it doesn't seem like they intentionally switch things up to be on trend or even to be vintage in a cool way. Lastly, price point is a bit all over; some of it is fair some of it seems overpriced when we are dealing with Old Navy brands and Forever 21 as well. The staff is friendly, and can't fault them for anything they definitely are helpful. Overall, just an okay experience but don't expect to score a deal! read more

The security guard lost my stuff while I was in the dressing room on two different occasions. Only one guy in the store would help me. The manager was rude about it. I work as an extra on a lot of kids shows, so I knew I would find stuff here for me easy. This store is great if you are small and forage through the "kids" area, which does have small adult sizes mixed in! I bought a like-New Columbia fleece for $15!! I grabbed a number of items that are great and left barely spending $30. The clothes all come from tv shows, so it's good if you know what kind of clothes that would mean for you! As a small woman, I knew I'd find stuff here, but you might have a harder time depending on your sizing and style preferences. I am constantly complimented on my wardrobe and people ask me how I can afford such things, but it's all from here. Also, lots of items are brand new with tags. You have to know when to go. Only come when items are 75% off. These types of sales occur around most holidays. Or sign up for the email list to find out about the sales. I honestly could care less what show these clothes are from, but it helps to know, because if a certain character on the show is my size I will try to find items from that rack. Had high hopes when reading about this place but ultimately the prices were high and the selection was low. Most of the clothing here was dated and older looking and super expensive. To charge $200-$250 for a Hugo Boss sport coat that is 5 years old is ridiculous. Same sport coat on EBay would be $30-$40. Even the no-name brand stuff was $50+ for plain and hideous looking stuff. It became clear to us within a couple minutes that this was a wasted trip. They have a uniform section with police officer uniforms from all over the US which is kind of scary to think about. The people I saw browsing in that section were creepy enough looking that those were not the type of people I would want to see buy police uniforms. They also had cheap military clothes like pilot flight coveralls and Iraqi military shirts. Upstairs was the most interesting section ... there were mismatched costume pieces. We saw giant fur teddy bear suits with no head ... civil war tunics and officer coats ... futuristic leather warrior costumes with several of the matching pieces gone ... rubber toy store Halloween masks, etc. All ridiculously priced at $150-$300. Most were a few pieces short of resembling complete costumes but the level of custom craftwork was astounding. $250 showgirl dresses with hand set jewels etc. We spent 20 minutes and won't return. Waste of a drive. Way too expensive ... you'd seriously do better at an outlet mall for new designer clothing for cheaper and the costumes are incomplete. Trust me, we had real high hopes but it was just a junky thrift store with outrageous price tags. read more

This store is very fun to go to find clothes that were used in films. They are priced reasonably and are very affordable. I found multiple clothing items that were in pristine condition and this place has so many options to choose from. This place is also an excellent place to go if you are looking for costume attire. I found the most beautiful white and gold floor length coat/ gown for only $100! Another bonus is that they have a 50% off Summer Sale! I have gone in there & have found some really nice clothing and other times I've gone in & walked out without finding anything of interest. First, I must preface this by saying I'm not a big thrift store shopper. I had read about It's a Wrap a while ago, and I thought it would be fun to bring a friend from out-of-town who loves thrift store shopping. We both left very disappointed. There were a lot of items from stores such as H&M and The Gap. Most of the clothes seemed cheap, old, and worn-out. It was hard to believe that they had only been worn once on a show. I hadn't heard of most of the TV shows and movies that were on the list. Additionally, a large amount of the clothes was marked with WR18, which wasn't on the list at all. The most disappointing thing was the high prices. I saw a Vince Camuto top that I own. It costs $59 at Nordstrom. The It's a Wrap price tag said the original cost was $200, marked down to $100. Once I saw that, I was very leery of the prices and pretty much stopped wanting to shop at that point. They did have a nice selection of costume jewelry. read more
