If you're from Chicagoland, this place is going to hit you with instant nostalgia…read more Mojoe's Grill reminds me so much of those independent, Greek-owned fast food spots back home--the kind that do everything from gyros to burgers, and do it right. The gyro here is legit--carved from the spit, flavorful, and exactly what you'd expect if you grew up in the 708/312/630/847. Honestly, it's the closest thing I've found in the area to that classic Chicago fast-food experience. Their burgers and Philly cheesesteaks also look solid, and I'll definitely be working my way through the menu. I'll gladly go out of my way for this place whenever I'm craving a real-deal gyro like I used to get back home. The only thing missing? Throw hot dogs, Italian beef, and pizza puffs on the menu, and I'd swear I never left Chicago.

The cheesesteaks are not what they used to be from the bread to the meat that's used. I ordered a cheesesteak combo with onion rings and a drink. The exact same order i have been ordering for years, to my surprise the gentleman that took the order rang it all up separately. ($7.75 just for the onion rings and drink) When I inquired I was told that a combo was fries only. Nowhere does it say that, I told him I understood that onion rings are more expensive and I'd expect it to be more than just the $3.50 for a combo as it has always been. He said that he didn't know how to do that, and asked "are you good" sadly we will not be going back.

He was attentive, friendly, and very accommodating throughout our visit. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. I ordered the Mediterranean Street Bowl, and it was delicious. The chicken shawarma was flavorful, tender, and not dry at all. My only suggestion would be to add a few more vegetables and a little less rice. My husband ordered the Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad, and the flavors were incredible. The combination of savory ingredients, creamy avocado, and fresh greens was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, especially with the FIFA match on TV. We even caught the exciting end of the USA vs. Australia game. Overall, we had a great experience--excellent food, outstanding service from David, and the bonus of watching the USA secure a win over Australia. We would definitely return.

They saw my order, the only one sitting there, looked at it, then said they needed to get somebody else. So I waited a couple of minutes for them to get somebody to total me out. The food was properly prepared when I ate it. I really did like the flavor from the French fries. The only thing they need to work on is their initial customer service. 2026-06 #582

After 40 years of marriage, we've learned that a memorable lunch is often better than an expensive dinner. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to write our reviews the same day. Lunch for two came to about $45 plus tax and tip, and included: * Bánh Mì * Shrimp Tacos * House Lemonade * Key Lime Pie Location & Atmosphere SmokeStack Cafe is located in Raleigh's historic Oakwood neighborhood in a beautifully restored former grocery store. The setting is full of charm, both inside and out. There is outdoor seating available, but we chose to sit indoors where the space is open, comfortable, and inviting. Parking is street parking only. On our Juneteenth lunch visit, finding a space was easy, though I suspect many neighborhood residents simply walk over. The Food The Bánh Mì was outstanding. The bread was a true French baguette, fresh, crisp, and clearly high quality. The sandwich was generously filled with flavorful pork, more than we have received at most places serving bánh mì. It came with a large portion of well-seasoned French fries. The Shrimp Tacos featured three tacos on corn tortillas. The shrimp portion was generous, and the accompanying sauce added plenty of flavor without overwhelming the seafood. The House Lemonade was tart, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted on a warm afternoon. For dessert, we shared a slice of house-made Key Lime Pie. It was a generous serving with a bright, tangy lime flavor and a graham cracker crust that had a subtle hint of cinnamon. A wonderful finish to the meal. Service Service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout our visit. In a fun personal touch, our server told us he had made the key lime pie himself Overall What impressed me most was how diverse and eclectic the menu is. The food felt thoughtful and well executed, the setting was charming, and the service was first-rate. SmokeStack Cafe delivered exactly the kind of memorable lunch we hoped for on our anniversary, and we're already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu.

There was outside seating but it was a bit steamy this particular Sunday so we opted for a table indoors. A different take on chicken salad and so tasty! Loved the fresh pita as well. My husband had the hash and said it was delicious too!
