The best food ever! From the moment you walk in your treated like family. I'm a Florida native who had no clue what "TOMATO " pie was. I can tell you one thing it was absolutely delicious. Crispy crust and a sauce like no other. Some of my other favorites is the seafood chowder and the fried chicken( I don't even like chicken) . My 3 day trip and I ate at Nutts two separate times. Everytime I visit family in the area (I live in CA) I like to stop here for the tomato pie which is delicious. Tonight we had the special- Basa fish stuffed with crab, an anti pasta salad and a classic tomato pie. Everything was great- the fish was surprisingly good. You just don't expect such a nice presentation and excellent flavor from a place that specializes in pizza and fried chicken. Be sure to try the specials if you can resist the fried chicken! I passed this place many times and thought it was just an ice cream shop. I was pretty hungry so I stopped for a slice of pizza just to fill my gut until I got home. Just got a slice. It was the smallest thinnest slice I ever got. The crust was about the thickness of cardboard, not the corrugated type. It was as if there was no yeast used in crust. I can't even imagine how they can get a crust so thin. It was like a tortilla wrap. I basically inhaled the slice it was so thin. The taste was ok, nothing to rave about. The price of the slice was overpriced, however, looking at the menu, it seems everything is overpriced. I will not be going back. We both managed to eat a two, two piece fried chicken dinners with mashed potatoes, without utensils in the car, and it was delicious. Might've been nicer if we actually had a fork but we managed to use the fried chicken as a utensil to eat all the mashed potatoes. I even managed to get some gravy on it. The coleslaw was a much easier task. We usually sit outside and enjoy pizza but this was a easy and quick alternative when we were on the go hungry. Highly recommend. read more

I'm not from the area, but am a frequent visitor and this charming spot is just irresistible. The inside of the restaurant has a certain appeal that makes you feel like you're home. The service is fast and the server is very nice. The menu isn't at all overwhelming, but then again, I go there for the chicken. Its fresh, crispy where it matters and juicy inside. The flavor is just right. It came with a side of either mashed potatoes or fries and coleslaw. I didn't realize that it was the same "place" where I had some really amazing chicken years ago alongside a "river" till I recognized the giant rooster standing out front. Unusually cut and spectacularly delicious, this super-thin crust pizza still makes it to my BEST list, even after having eaten real Italian pizza. The stiff, crisp crust and thin layer of cheese merely act as a vessel for the glorious chunks of tomato and sauce exploding all across the top layer. The pizza shines with olive oil (not grease) and the seasoning is light but good; it really only complements the three aforementioned ingredients, not adds to or overpowers. If you like pizza, or you like tomato pie, don't miss out on the best there is!! Everything always looks good on the menu - and I can vouch for their delicious (and warm!) crab and avocado dip, house salad (and dressings!), and potato soup as well - but I can never bring myself to order anything as my meal besides their plain pie. We stop here for eats after we've been walking the dogs or biking along the canal. The omelets and the crepes are our favorites, and they've always got something with an unusual twist on the menu that differenciates them from your average diner. I'm not a huge fan of the home fries (there's rosemary or something in there that I really don't dig for breakfasts), but I grew up on hash browns and am not a big home fries fan to start with. The corned beef hash is also very good, but make certain to ask for it to be crispy. They took the waffles off the menu recently, which is a downer, but the pancakes are gigantic. If you're looking for a bready breakfast, the French Toast is tremendous. The burgers are very good and I had a portabello burger there once that was terrific. In the Summer it get's very busy, so try to get there early before the swells in their BMW's and Jags start arriving and fill the place up. read more

I'm giving this place 1 star not to trash it, but to bring attention to management to fix things. I love this place and will continue to eat there. I had lunch there yesterday 10/7/2020. Staff there is a revolving door but perfectly understood. There's this one waitress who's been there a long time. She's always nice. I'm not always critical of service until something goes wrong. Yesterday, the knives were dirty so we asked for a replacement. It never came. Our food arrived and are now prevented from eating because of a lack of knives. She disappeared yet I maintained my patience. When she appeared, I waved to her again. However, before she went to get us clean knives, she attended to new customers first, cleaned spilled glass (we were outdoors and it was windy, everything blew all over). After some time inside, she came back out with some cleaning supplies, cleaned another table, went to another customer, then went to us with our replacement knives. No apologies. Common sense tells you if your customer asks for a utensil when their food is there, drop everything and get them clean utensils ASAP. En Pronto! You are preventing your customers from eating their food. I could have, should have, walked away. But no, I even tipped 20%. I've known this lady by face even though she was wearing a mask. She has worked there for a long time. I'm sure she recognizes us because we've eaten there so many times. Anyway, I was not in the mood to be cheap, nor was I in the mood to call her out. The owner was there, but I did not decide to tell him either. This is not the time to bilk hardworking people of their tips, and people are going through some hard times. Let me start by saying the food and the help are excellent. It was very busy this Sunday afternoon and they were taking names. I stood in front of the cash register and waited for a guy with dyed greasy looking black hair playing in the cash register. I assume he was the owner. He never looked up, never greeted me or acknowledged my existence then simply walk away. We were seated next to the door that goes out to the patio. Apparently, they don't make enough money to repair the door closer assembly and we listened to the door close with an extremely loud bang. We paid with a tip $60 for a bowl of soup, and two half chicken fried platters. So based upon the outrageous pricing and the owners ignorance we will never return. We came here on a Friday night for ice cream, hoping that this local spot would be our new go-to. Unfortunately, it won't be. I can't speak to the meals, but the ice cream was overpriced and underwhelming. The cone was stale, I've had a larger one scoop at every chain and non-chain ice cream place I've been to, and they charge an extra 60 cents for a weak attempt at sprinkles (more than a singular sprinkle, but nothing exciting). If the prices were cheaper or the serving size bigger or the quality better, I'd go back. As it is, I don't feel the need. read more

I've officially visited It's Nutts. We stopped in for breakfast on Monday morning around 9, which is certainly not their busy time. One other patron seated nearby, which was just fine for us. I got a PR, egg, and cheese on a hard roll. It was standard jersey fare-- good, but nothing amazing. My mom, inspired by my Southern home, tried the biscuits and sausage gravy. This did not resemble any biscuits and gravy from the south, but did come with a large portion of eggs and home fries, which saved the meal! Their ice cream looks worthwhile, and I would definitely come back to try the famed pizza. Cash only-- though they do have an ATM near the restrooms. Overall, it was an okay breakfast! read more

This is a cute little spot near the bridge between New Hope & Lambertville, and lives up to its tag line of a "small town joint with uptown flavor". That means good food at decent prices, which is hard to come by right around the bridge where it's difficult to park and most places are higher priced. It's Nutts offers a good variety of American foods like burgers and fried chicken, plus pizza, with hand-dipped ice cream and special cakes. The 7-layer cakes are the showstoppers, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I had to take off a star for customer service. For a place that is asking to be nominated for the show Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives, you would think they would try to be memorable. Unfortunately, this was a fail. Barely a smile and our server seemed inconvenienced, even giving us our check without asking if we wanted dessert-- when I had even joked at the beginning that I was saving room for the cakes on display. Then when I asked for the carrot cake, she asked if I wanted it to-go! And they ran out of coffee, too. The place was still full, and nowhere near closing time, so it was a passive-aggressive way to get us to leave. Too bad because I wanted to have that cake, but don't worry we won't be back. Based on all the reviews I am seeing, I guess I will have to give it another try. I stopped here for lunch on Saturday and the place was very busy with people sitting inside and outside (it was a beautiful February day). Service was quite slow, and believe me, I am not that picky. I arrived at 12:40 and was seated inside right away. Quite awhile went by before I was given a menu and I didn't even get my drink until 1:10. Incidentally, I was seated facing the counter with the tables behind me all occupied. My interior photo is a bit misleading cause it looks like the place is empty. I ordered French Onion Soup and a Cheesesteak with a Diet Coke. I thought for sure they were going to forget the soup, but it did finally come at 1:20. It was good and piping hot. There was a very dominating spice in there - I think tarragon, but it was good. It was ironic that my waitress dropped off the hot soup and then took my glass to refill my diet coke and then didn't even come back with it until I had finished the soup. The cheesesteak (with fried onions and provolone) was very good and the bun was great too -- very airy and not hard or dense like some places. Overall, yes, I would definitely go back and give it another try and go when it's not so busy. It was just the strange timing of the service that threw me off, especially being just one person for lunch. I did like it, but everything was "off". read more
