Sometimes the simple things are best. There's no need for a large and ever changing menu when you can focus on 2 simple things that many people love. Beer and Pizza! I had this spot in my bookmarks but didn't really take a detailed look at it until I recommended it to a coworker who brought back tales and a few slices for me. Even reheating them a day later, the slices provided a glimpse of what this could be. Months afterwards I finally assembled a small but eager crew to join me there. The journey from NJ was fraught with pouring rain and flooding, but we wouldn't be deterred.... We were the first customers here on a very stormy day, and our kind server explained they way the beer walk operates. Our card in hand we proceeded to pour our own tastings from the 16 or so options. On board for this adventure was a friend who specializes in IPAs and other beers, so I thought it best to follow his lead. I'm not really an IPA guy, but these were not your run of the mill beers. I won't list what we tried as the taps change. However, on our visit we sampled 3 Vermont beers all rated over 4 stars. My friend who visits Vermont regularly was amazed that they had these. He remarked " you can't even find these on tap in Vermont"! Ok, say beer is not your thing, well there are also ciders and wine on tap. But let's get to the food. This menu is only red pizza, white pizza, Stromboli and salads. We started with a white that featured pears, mozzarella, Gorgonzola and topped with arugula. This came out looking great and tasting even better. One of the best white pies I've had in recent memory. And if pairing is your thing, those high quality IPAs went perfectly. For a red we did half Italian stallion and half got honey. Another very good pie, but that white though.... I imagine on normal weather days this place can fill up. And there is a lot of outdoor seating too. Our server was very friendly as were the young pie artisans on duty that night . I hope to return in warmer weather and enjoy their offerings outside. We love Vince's! The pizza and salads are delicious, and we also love the beer and wine wall. It's a cute concept. Service is good and prices are reasonable. We haven't had a pizza that we haven't enjoyed yet, and it's become a weekly spot for us. I'd highly recommend it! read more

The pizza is consistently cooked to perfection, and their self-serve beer wall is always well-stocked with IPAs from various regions, including New England. The pizza was good, nothing to rave about and growing up eating New York and New Jersey pizza not the best I've ever had... waitress was nice, good service. Ambience was cordial with many TVs to watch Sunday football on. Although I felt a bit rushed after the pizza was finished, and we wanted to sit around watching more football and drinking some more beers and I kept getting the nudge for "do you want to check yet" because others were standing in line waiting to have a table. read more

Amazing pizza!!! We moved out of the area 2 years ago and really miss good pizza. We were in town for a few days and friends brought us here and I am still thanking them. We started with a large house salad for the group which was very good. The 2 pizzas were great. One with extra cheese and pepperoni was delicious. The other was the house special sausage and honey was out of this world. (At this for me, hubby wasn't a fan of the honey on pizza). Ugh... I loved this place last summer when we went often but it's getting messy and our most recent experience really missed the mark. (I will say we have a baby and I know it doesn't make me special but there are certain things that we try to do to help everyone have a nice night) 1- we called to ask the wait, we're told no wait, arrived 15 minutes later & then had to wait 45 minutes 2- the valet was SO SLOW and my baby needed to eat (aka was SCREAMING) so we took an open spot so he could eat. They have 15+ curbside pick up spots so we left the car while we ate. The valet kid came to yell at us when we were leaving for not valeting. Also a lot of people don't like valeting their cars- this is not a good improvement. Parking was never an issue last year. 3- we were seated in front of the live band speaker and when I asked the hostess to switch she was annoyed. Luckily the waitress Christine (I think) was super helpful. The younger staff were hustling so props to them. The beer wall was good and so was our pizza. The house salad had too much dressing for our liking and was mostly romaine lettuce. read more

Vince's is a gem of a pizza place and taproom just outside of the crazy crowded downtown hub of Newtown. Vince's originated in Northeast Philly and opened this second location a few years ago to the happiness of those that were familiar. There is ample seating inside and out, and during the nice weather they offer entertainment on the weekend. Their pizza is just delicious, with great combinations or create your own. The offer salads, Stromboli, dessert. The menu does not have many other options but no one cares because basically you NEED to order pizza here. They have a wall of beer, and some wine options, which is so much fun. You pay per ounce so you can try any or all of their offerings and as much or as little as you wish. Love Vinces. Been here many times over the past few years and used to go to the one on Grant Ave for years when I lived closer. Tonight was the first time I had a negative experience and I pray that it was a one time thing and an off night. We got a Caesar salad which is usually very good. Something was off and just didn't have the same great taste. White with broccoli was missing almost all the broccoli and we still got charged for it after complaining. Plain pizza and the sausage and honey, not as good as we expect it to be. Again, hope this was a off night and maybe some inexperienced kitchen staff as they looked very young. The toppings are plentiful and the standard pizzas are unique!! We had the Fun Guy (Funghi). 3 diff mushrooms, Gorgonzola and mozz cheese topped with truffle oil, olive oil and parm cheese. We added spinach. Don't worry about the cold. They offer outdoor dining and a covered gazebo. All have propane heaters. They offer blankets (my wife took 2). Really great pizza spot in a great location. Jess and I stopped here right before our improv class, at Unscripted Productions, which is two minutes away. If you haven't heard of them you should definitely search them out. (Yes, that's a plug!) The restaurant is modern and clean with a host stand upon walking through the door and a take out counter to the right. The Great Wall of beer and wine is straight ahead. Surrendering your plastic to the waitress and loading money onto a card is how you utilize the machines. Service was great and friendly, noticing they take great pride in the customer service and pies. We got a traditional pie ($16) and it was right out of the oven. Plentiful cheese, cooked nicely with great flavor and a strong crust. Two cokes ran us $7 that came in plastic cups. Although free refills, $3.50 for a soda is my only grievance. We will absolutely be coming back to try a different pie and their Stromboli, which looked amazing. Also, they do have a small patio outback with about 3 picnic tables! read more

You can tell that folks in the Newtown, Bucks County, PA, area were hungry for great pizza, because Vince's Pizzeria and Taproom was absolutely jammed at 4:30 on the weekday afternoon I stopped in to check it out. There was hardly an empty parking space to be found. And, I understand why. Our region has a load of pizza shops, but extremely few that really know the pizza business (read, none). The people behind Vince's have several generations invested in making superlative dough and sauce, and using quality cheeses to create exceptional pies. Only the sainted DeLorenzo's transplanted from Jersey compares. Luckily for me, there was room at one of the large community tables in the back of the house. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We ended up in extended conversations as we chowed down. There was a couple from Yardley, and another from Trenton, NJ. We were all there to sample the wares, and drink from the fountain of beers along the rear wall. It worked fairly well, although it was obvious that they were still on their shakedown cruise, this being their first week in operation. The taproom concept is still new and not readily available. It requires the purchase of a RFID chipped card that attaches above the tap to the beer selected, releasing the brew into 12 oz. glasses which are filled by the customer. The available inventory is pictured above each tap, with brief description to help you choose. The beer card is good for 32 oz., after which you must pay for a reinfusion of funds. It all gets a bit complicated, as it seemed that the staff was repeated asking for a credit card for that, and again at check out. I handed mine over three times - there should be a better system in place. Yet, all is forgiven because the tomato pie/pizza is so damn good! The crust is thin, but stays firm from first munch to last. No drooping points here. The taste is like a first rate cracker, with a little saltiness that offsets the mild sweetness of the sauce above. There is just the right ratio of red to white, so there is no excess run off from cheese oils, nor watery tomatoes. From first steaming bite to last cool belly filler, the consistency is constant with crunchy crust and easily distinguishable ingredients. These are high quality pies. All I can say is that the other pizza joints in and around Newtown are in trouble now. The competition just jumped up a few notches. Once word gets out that Vince's is the new sheriff in town, the old boys will find themselves out of luck, and will have to improve their game if they want to stay in business. It's about time! As a recent transplant from California, this is that east coast pizza I've been looking for! Absolutely wonderful service from the moment we walked in, our hostess was friendly and welcoming. This is a family establishment and you can tell, we loved the pictures on the walls. The real star of our experience was our server Casey. She explained the menu and drink system so kindly and expertly. She noticed I needed help at the (very cool) serve yourself beer wall, and after her demonstration I had a great time tasting and choosing my own draft beers. Without our asking, Casey offered to cut our toddlers pizza up into little pieces, truly above-and-beyond service, it was such a help and she anticipated our needs. The Caesar salad was stellar! Fresh and crunchy and well dressed. Our pizza was delicious, we had half classic/half steak and pepper and we loved both halves. Very disappointed in the lack of ingredients on the mushroom pizza. I was eating more crust the mushrooms and cheese. I was there in the summer and it was very good not so much this time. Seemed that the young guys in the back just threw the pizza together and forgot to put the ingredients on. Also it was burnt where there was no ingredients. For 22.50 the pizza should be a loaded with mushrooms and cheese. I will try again hopefully it will be better. read more

I've been to Vince's pre-pandemic and post for curbside, both were delicious experiences. When indoor dining is safe, their taproom experience is unique and fun. I helped myself to wine on tap while my husband enjoyed craft beers. Staff was friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed watching Christmas themed cartoons under the heated tent outside while we waited too. Post pandemic we have enjoyed curbside pickup. You can order directly from their website which is easy and convenient. Pull up to designated parking spots and they'll bring the order right out. The pizza is amazing, both inside and for takeout. Where to begin. Apparently I have been to the fishtown location, I would not have went if I knew it was the same establishment, and let me start by saying those locations both are bad but are even inconsistent as one does cheese before sauce, and the other one does it with sauce first. The newton location is not a good pizza. It was so soggy I had to eat it with a fork. I also had to eat all my food in wasteful paper plates/bowls. The sauce is weak. And has too much parm in it. The cheese is the glooby kind where it balls up in your mouth and is a chore to chew. Entire group thought it was awful. read more

We got half pie classic with extra sauce and other half was a sausage and honey. 16$. Crust was definitely crispy which my boyfriend loved but it tasted a little cracker like to me. Service was okay. Some were friendly others were just there to do their jobs. It was never clear who was serving us bc we had more than one person. Came here to have dinner last night. Ordered two pizza and a beer flight. Service was a bit slow, took some time for a server to greet us. They also did not have a few of the beers on tap. When we did order, food came out pretty fast. This place is great for families as they only have outdoor seating. Seating is 6 feet apart from the rest of the tables which I appreciated. Very good pizzeria. Pies range from $16 - $23. We had the Classic and the Steak and Hot pies. Both have 8 slices each. Not a ton of cheese. Just a nice sauce with the right amount. The steak meat and banana peppers provided a nice flavor. This was a busy night, but we only waited about 30 mins for a table for three. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Now on to the Wall of Beer. This is a nice touch, especially when waiting for a table. You give your credit card and you get a "beer card" that you swipe and pour your own beverage. They have about 10 beers and a couple of wines on tap. It's nice that you only pay for what you pour. They also have an outdoor dining area out back. Stopped in to Vince's around 7:30 on a busy Thursday night and had a short wait before being promptly seated. The service was professional and efficient even with the dining room and outdoor seating area packed to capacity. This location has a newfangled electronic self-serve beer/wine/cider tap wall which is activated by a refillable card acquired from your server. You pay for each drink by the ounce and they have many different sizes of glasses to choose from enabling you to pour yourself full pints and flights of the 15 or so options. Overall this was quite a bit of fun and I cant wait to stop back and see a different selection to choose from. I thought it would be quite pricey for the novelty of it all but the two of us ended up paying only 25$ for 2 flights, a pint, and full glass of wine. Very fun. We ordered a decent caesar salad to start with and then a very delicious "Traditional"pizza which was a sort of NJ style tomato pie. The food was quite good but it felt a little strange eating off of the paper plates and disposable plastic water cups that we were given. Maybe they're being used temporarily or something. read more

I wish I'd taken some photos - next time. And there will definitely be a next time because this place has some darn good pizza. We got half PAG (pear, arugula and Gorgonzola) and half classic. Both were phenomenal and we appreciated being able to get half white/half red on a pie because a lot of places won't let you do that. My husband tried the beer wall flight and really enjoyed being able to taste four different beers for less than the cost of one drink elsewhere. Service was great but we're a little biased because our daughter's 1st grade teacher was our waitress. Love you, Mrs. K! The only real issue is parking. When they took over the space I hoped they'd redo the parking lot to add more spots but they didn't.
