Quick Notes: *kids have a lot of fun just running around and seeing the cool stuff they only get to see on videos here *this place is overpriced but it's niche items so understandable *Inside Ala Moana right outside Target across from Bdubs It'Sugar was a fun random place to take my siblings and nieces they definitely enjoyed all the little cool things around this store and got a good laugh out of some of the things like "urine candy" why that exists.. I do not know but the girls thought it was hilarious. Haha I personally wouldn't come back for myself although they had some intriguing pieces of candy and the place was decorated lively and fun I don't see myself shopping there often, candy isn't a huge part of my life though so I can understand for people that really love candy why this store would be a cool experience and sweets adventure. They also have the oreo place attached which my family enjoyed but wasn't in love with. Overall 3 star experience for me.

Super cute store! Very colorful and cool. I felt like I was a big kid here lol. The displays were stunning. They were made from jelly beans and other candies. I was mesmerized. Definitely true work of art. I didn't purchase anything but this store was definitely worth to check out. It is candy heaven for kids and adults.

Very unique shop that was huge and filled with sugar with an island vibe. I couldn't miss my opportunity to buy a blue sour patch kids plush. It's by far my all time favorite candy. Love this place and would come back (for more blue sour patch kids).

If you are looking to satisfy your sweet tooth you can definitely do it here! This is a candy fantasyland for kids and adults too. They have everything even some retro candies. Only thing is that everything is soooo expensive but great place to just wander and trip out on what they have. Loved the candy sculptures such great art!!!

The absolute coolest IT'SUGAR location I've EVER stepped foot in!!!! Located in the Ala Moana Hawaiian Center, this particular IT'SUGAR is large in size and has no shortage of things you will "ooh" & "ahhhh" over. Above all, there are so many photo opportunities. I literally found it hard to leave!! The displays are absolutely stunning, a true work of art. Employees are kind- offering help if it is needed but also letting you do your thing, browsing freely. My purchase consisted simply of a custom bag of assorted candies to share amongst my toddler and I. There are a number of gummies, chocolates, candy belts, and jelly beans to chose from. Sweet, sour, or even spicy- pick your poison! 5/5 stars because you cannot come here and not be put in a good mood. Prices are inflated but you walk away with EXACTLY what you want, no extra bits that you have to pick around.

The cutest candy shop in Honolulu! It's Sugar is located at the Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu and it was on the list of my places to visit on my recent trip to Hawaii because......there's a giant Hello Kitty statue inside. The Hello Kitty fan girl in me definitely wanted to say aloha to this store because of that. There indeed was a giant Hello Kitty statue that welcomes folks to the store on the south side. It's not jus the Hello Kitty statue however because there are other plenty of other cute statues such as Donutella of Tokidoki. There's so much kawaii eye candy but let's not forget the actual candy in the store! No matter what kinda of sweet tooth you have; you'll be sure to find your sweet treat here! They've got chocolate, jelly beans, nerds and even a whole section on the north side of the store for Oreo treats! It's Sugar is definitely sugar heaven! Sweet treats and sweet statues everywhere! Be sure to bring a camera for pictures and also be sure to bring your sweet tooth for a trip here :).

Located on the 3rd floor of the Ala Moana Center near Target. This store is HUGE and has all sorts of candy options. They even have a section just for sour patch kids and Oreos. I saw HK stuff and had to snap a pic! They also had the owl from the tootsie pop commercial from when I was younger. This store is well laid out to where you aren't crowded with other shoppers. Organized by candy brand. You can either bag candy and purchase by weight or u can buy prepackaged. Cool seeing all the candy. But who the heck would want candy that is Urine!? That's just gross.

A review that echos everything else -- this It's Sugar is truely one of a kind. The candy sculptures and the Japanese snacks really elevate it to another level. Had so much fun looking around, kids were going crazy from the free samples.

It's Sugar never seems to bore me! Their displays and items offered in the stores are funny and you can always find something sweet to eat! The decorations and displays are pretty funny, and you can spend a fair amount of time readying all the silly descriptions. They have a huge section dedicated to Oreos, and even have an Oreo Cafe!

This was one of the stores I wanted to visit when I come to the mall. It did take us a while to locate the store but it was definitely worth the hassle. The store was clean and organized. Besides the usual American chocolate brands, I was able to find a few unique items.

I didn't take enough photos... we were doing a bit of school shopping and ducked into It'sugar for a cheat treat! I usually hesitate going in here because oh my gosh it's sooooooo tempting to not just fill my basket with everything in the store! Lol I'm happy to say I showed restraint. I walked out with just 2 bags! Hahaha yeah I couldn't help it. They have a whole section dedicated to just Oreos which is like my middle name just about. And sour patch kids may as well be hubs' middle name... yup, they had their own section too! It's truly a sweet tooth heaven. Oh and they have a refrigerator full of specialty Jones and the like sodas. The sour ones are sooo tart and delicious! Really glad they carry them because our fam is obsessed with them!

If candy or sweets in every form and size is your thing you'll enjoy visiting this store. Very peppy music is played inside this very colorful and bright shop. When I saw the sign $17+ a pound for candy I thought... dentists must be rejoicing for an onslaught of business once the sugar bugs create cavities. There were rock candy on sticks for $1.99, Skittles for $9 and even bubble gum machines for sale. The line for Oreo Cafe housed in the left portion of the shop is still visible. I saw Kit Kat, Tootsie Pops and Tootsie rolls but didn't come across truffles or Horlicks or Flicks . Maybe I didn't look hard enough. Fun novelty store across from the now playing Search for Snoopy Peanuts Adventure.

This place is located on Target wing of the mall. The ambiance is a store full of candy, Oreos, and other goodies. You are a kid in a candy store and you don't know what you want to buy. Employees are friendly when they ring up your purchase. There is Oreo snack shop where you can buy drinks and shaved ice.

We saw some people illegally parked on the street right on the corner, but they didn't care, they would brave a citation just for these amazing treats! I am sure the neighbors who live across from this place think this is a massive headache, to have such a popular chocolate place right in their own neighborhood - either that, or a blessing, since they can just walk right across! There are 4 tiny stalls in the driveway in the front of the Doggie Bakery and this place, but it looks far too challenging to get in and out and onto the main street, which is insanely busy on a weekend. We parked in the neighboring lot and purchased something from another business just so we could get some chocolates here. If the parking situation were better, I'd come back. I purchased the Hokkaido Soft Serve (weekends only, I think), it was delicious but I was expecting more fatty mouthfeel for something that was labeled as "Hokkaido". It was lighter than I was expecting. The chocolates, on the other hand, were fabulous and worth every, expensive, penny. By the way, who the heck nowdays says "worth every penny"? Probably old folks like me who knew what a penny was, and now due to inflation and the Federal Reserve nixxing the penny, it's probably worth 0.0012 cents now. Rainbow Shave Ice - it really does taste like shave ice! I came here mainly for this, as I've heard the hype and the hype is real! Hibiki Whisky Chocolate - nice and lovely. Dubai Chocolate - with gold leaf and everything. The Dubai craze is insane. This was good, but the least of my favorites. Six chocolates + one soft serve = $30.

Every morning, without fail, people gathered outside waiting patiently for pastries. No flashy signs. No gimmicks. Just quiet consistency. That alone intrigued me. By the second day, my mind was made up. I'm an early riser, so the plan was simple: go on my usual morning run and arrive before the rush. Japanese culture and craftsmanship have long fascinated me. Through close friends with family roots tracing back to Japan, I've developed a deep appreciation for the culture -- the discipline, the rituals, the precision, and the respect for process. There's a beauty in the intentional pace at which things are done. Nothing rushed. Nothing careless. This bakery embodied that philosophy perfectly. The space itself was small, modest, and aromatic. No overdesigned interiors. No influencer bait. Just the comforting smell of fresh bread and butter hanging in the air. Some bakeries hide behind elaborate architecture and presentation, but this place understood something more important: when the product is exceptional, the product becomes the attraction. The pastries ranged from playful and charming to elegant and refined. The Salt & Butter bread was an instant staple -- savory, warm, and impossibly light. The dough practically dissolved like air. Thankfully, nothing felt overly heavy, because I completely lost control of my ordering strategy. The Kobo Kuma -- a soft bear-shaped bun filled with homemade vanilla bean custard -- was perfection. Equal parts cute and comforting. The Cinnamon Roll was solid, but the Haupia pastry completely stole the show. For those unfamiliar, Haupia is a traditional Hawaiian coconut pudding found throughout Polynesia. The flavor here was subtle yet lingering, delicate without disappearing. The kind of flavor that quietly stays with you long after the last bite. Then came the Blueberry Danish -- beautiful, buttery, and perfectly sweet. I didn't even make it to the savory options this time, which honestly just gives me another reason to return. And I absolutely will -- whether back here in Hawaii or perhaps at one of their mainland locations in Los Angeles. Some places become popular because of hype. Others because of quality. This bakery earned its line.

As someone who's vegan, it can be hard to find a dessert I actually feel good about, and this is one of those places. Everything is taro-based and cooked in coconut oil, which I really appreciate. Just a heads up-all of their donuts are taro donuts. The flavors come from the toppings, so if you see something like a strawberry one, the donut itself isn't strawberry--it's the topping. Their offerings change, ( they do have their core donuts that don't change-and I usually go for one "naked"--no glaze. Sometimes I'll get the honey and sea salt one. If you don't want a whole donut--or you're eating in your car and don't want to make a mess--their little donuts called Holeys are the perfect pop-in-your-mouth option. The place has always be well kept and clean - and they have a very spacious, and equally as clean, bathroom. They also have an app where you can check the menu, keep track of your rewards, and manage gift cards, which makes it really convenient.
