Browsing around Ala Moana and accidentally found Its' Sugar! If i didn't look up i wouldn't have seen it. It's kid of in a hidden place (3rd floor) by target. Everything is so eye catching. My kids had so much fun in this store. Of course as we walked in the first thing we did was take a tour around the whole store, when done then we actually went around again to choose what we wanted. My kids filled up bags of candies that was available. We also got a Chico-stick and a duff beer (soda). As i checked out the cashier told me this is the largest it's sugar store even compared to the ones in the mainland. We gone to the ones in the mainland and this truly was the largest be been in. Gosh it's the biggest candy store I've ever been in! It's where Williams Sonoma, Ann Taylor and other small stores used to be- the space encompassed all! It's next to Target if you're looking for a landmark. It's a fun place to browse and reminisce and it's got a fun playful vibe with the music and displays. The displays were made from candies (jelly beans) and were awesome. I saw Japanese Kit Kats too! One end was an Oreo store. I wasn't sure if it was a separate department but it had all kinds of Oreos including the thin mint ones (I love mint Oreos) Even if you're not an candy lover (do they even exist?) you have to stop in to see the displays and the candies. The main draw comes from the large merchandise figures. It's Sugar! A very large piece of property that once was home to vera Bradley, Janie & jack, William Sonoma & Ann Taylor! What a massive size candy store filled with a ton of candy to give your teeth enough cavities to make your dentist rich and make you diabetic! LOL! I just took a walk through the store only because my sugar is high and I can only see, no touch, no eat! Lots of great treats, very similar to Dylan's candy shoppe but this store is way more bigger. We came upon this place while perusing the Ala Moana Shopping Center and of course we had to go in because it was a candy store. But it wasn't just a candy store. It was the MECCA of all candy stores! It was so bright and colorful inside with so many eye-catching displays and well as popular statues of characters and candy icons. The candy was overpriced and a lot of it can be found at cheaper stores such as Target and Walmart. But that didn't stop us from buying a few things. I was disappointed that they didn't have any Red Apple Jelly Belly's, which are my favorites! It was fun experience and fun exploring this candy candy haven! Review for the Oreo Cafe As a lover of Oreos, this is a must!!! They offer soft serve in a cup/cone, shave ice and milkshakes in the Oreo and Golden Oreo flavor. This is a cool place to browse around but really not to purchase anything. It's so expensive and although it has cool nostalgic stuff, it's just a major tourist trap. One thing that I felt super disappointed about while waking through was the super small section of the local candies. They only had 13 different kinds of local candies available in this huge store! The POP collectibles of Spam, White Castle, and others that make you go, "Really who collects this?!?!?" 6. The PEZ aisle of all your favorite characters. Not including any presidents. 7. Hubby, my friend and I came in here to check out the candy. Oh my gosh! Candy heaven here. All sorts of candy they weigh by the pound or half a pound. I totally enjoyed looking at the different characters they had here from old school to new school stuff. I definitely want to take my daughter here on Wednesday when she gets off early from school. This location by far is the biggest one I gave been to. Maybe next time I will have to buy some candy here. I know my daughter would love to try candy from this place. The store was very organized and neat. The display was spread out and organized by candy types or brand. We definitely had a sugar rush just walking around the store. Located near Target, in a massive space that used to be like four stores, IT'SUGAR is exactly what it says it is. Sugar and high-fructose corn-syrup in every form. One of the highlights is probably the make your own bag of gummies and other candies. Another plus are the Kit-Kats from Japan. For the Oreo fans, there's an Oreo milkshake and ice cream bar. There's also a whole section of Sour Patch Kids. Personally, we came in for a gift. The person lives gummies and the gummy bar was perfect. Other than that, I think the real seller is the service. This store is so cute, very big and displays are very spaced out. We went to an it'sugar in California at universal studios a couple of years ago and it was kinda cramped from what I can remember. Anyways, this one was so pretty, lots of fun things to see. Prices were a little bit high but we still bought a small bag of mini jawbreakers. My disappointment was that they didn't have watermelon jellybeans, they had a bunch of other flavors but not that one. Sugar overload!!! Wow, now this is a candy store that every kid, and maybe some adults, dream of! Located in Ala Moana Shopping Center on the third floor, right outside of Target. It took the old William Sonoma location and then some! When I heard of this new place, I got so excited that it finally opened. I decided to bring my niece after school one day. To my surprise, the store was pretty empty. Even better! What I didn't realize was that the 2 doors we passed were also part of this one candy store! The candies are somewhat in categories.... Nostalgia/old school sweets, sour patch kids, Japanese treats, jelly belly and a whole section of Oreo products. What I brought my niece here for wasn't too much for the candy. But I saw some of my foodie friends posting that they sell Pusheen! If you're not familiar with this character, it's a fat cat plush doll. Haha. But my niece loves this character for some reason. They're a little pricey, but hey, it was a special day and she deserved a special treat! As you enter the main door, right in front of you is this massive ALOHA display. All made of jelly beans! Wow!!! I wonder how many beans it took to make that. Hehe. We ended up buying a handful of my nieces fave normal candy. When you walk in, they have a Hawaii exclusive line of products in the middle of the store which I heard have been pretty popular. They have a variety of treats from abroad too (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) and I love that they have themed goodies like a Naruto mystery snack box ($50). I can't even begin to describe all the candies they have, but just to name a few there's: Chocolates, gummies, hard candies, lollipops, Skittles, Oreos, Sour Patch Kids, Nerds, Reese's, Swedish Fish, etc. etc. etc. I got a few of the gigantic candies (like reese's and a huge hershey's bar) for gifts for my friends, and some of the pre-packaged candies (like dark chocolate almonds, gummy bears and sour belts) for the family.They also have gag gifts like boxers and stuff, as well as some good deals going on right now! I will admit it's a little on the pricey side but I like that you can find all of your candy/gift needs in one spot - plus they have products like this M&M and Oreo popcorn that I've never seen at any other store, and my mom pointed out that they sold candies that she saw when she first came to Hawaii 30 years ago that aren't sold anymore, which is super cool! Candy Heaven!!!!!!! This place is so big we couldn't hide it from the kids even if we tried. The smiles on their face was worth the sugar rush that lasted for days. They went crazy grabbing all their favorites (and so did we!). You can get the same stuff at Target or Walmart for a fraction of the price, but the excitement of buying it in heaven is worth the price. Let's just say we racked up a hefty bill and didn't walk out with a much as you'd expect. But like I said... the smiles were worth it. I tried calling Carousel Candy in Kahala Mall for 20 minutes and they refused to pick up the phone. So, I found this place. Which had what I wanted in many different colors. While shopping I picked up a few other things... Their chocolate covered oreos are not as good as Godiva or Diamond Head Chocolate Company, but they were better than the Oreo brand one. Their milk balls were good. Very surprised by the quality on those actually. What made my experience even better was the cashier named Dylan. He was so helpful. Wow I felt like "a kid in a candy store" . Very nostalgic yet fresh and new. Located in the old William Sonoma spot is a haven of sugar. This location is their 100th store, hence the massive size. What a way to celebrate. They had everything from Oreo to sour patch to Lex and even mini gummies. They also had a Hello Kitty section with surprise boxes available for lurches. Tons and tons of candy themed merchandise and super friendly staff. Next time I have to buy a gift I'm coming here. Check out the photos. The use candies to build sculptures. It's amazing. I was definitely more excited than my kids! The kid in me came out when I walked into the store. I've never went to those big candy stores in the mainland so this was so much fun to browse at all the different selection of candy they had! We recently went to Dylan's a few months ago, so when I took my son here, he was running around the store like he already had a sugar rush lol! He loved all the gummies, he wanted everything lol. They have specific sections that are product specific like the Gummy Bear section and the Oreo section and so forth. Amazing displays of candy sculptures and backdrops.
