I personally haven't found a roll I love yet because I prefer something really fresh--no heavy sauces, nothing fried, just clean fish with maybe some lemon and vegetables. A lot of their rolls lean more toward the saucy, specialty-style, so it depends on your taste. That said... their sashimi and nigiri are to die for. Seriously. The fish tastes incredibly fresh, and the price for that quality is really good. That's what keeps me coming back. You can get things like ramen, yakisoba, bento boxes, and other hot dishes, so it's easy to go with people who don't like sushi. They do serve alcohol too--beer, sake, wine, etc.--which makes it a fun spot for dinner or a group night . There are also multiple locations (including West Valley, Midvale, South Jordan, Orem, and downtown SLC), so it's pretty convenient wherever you are. West Valley serves Korean food as well, we will be going there next time. Clean and friendly service and the time to get your food is very fast. Bottom line: If you love creative rolls with sauces, you'll probably love this place. Walked in on Saturday afternoon they only had one other table. Waitress was nice. Decor is nice typical Japanese restaurant decor. Ordered bento box chicken teriyaki. The chicken was good. Had a great experience here for lunch with a friend! We ordered the Chirashi and a Playboy Roll. The fish was fresh and the playboy roll was yummy. Great portion sizes for the price. My girlfriend and I go here for that sushi craving fix, especially on Tuesday's when they have a 50% deal. They have so many other good options besides sushi and are very accommodating with celiac disease as well being able to make any sushi roll and lots of other dishes celiac safe. I was glad to hear they have opened a new location in south Jordan. I usually go to downtown, or midvale location so it's a bit closer to home! I've always loved their sushi and decided to come try the new spot. Itto sushi never disappoints, no matter what location I have been to their sushi has been SO delicious. The firebird is my absolute favorite of them all! The flame to give it a fiery taste is just amazing. I had their tiger shrimp tempura and it was just the right amount of batter for that crunch with such great flavor. The service is as superior as always. It took 30-40 minutes from when the waiter brought the first order to the last order. We had to ask our waiter twice about missing orders. We are BIG fans of Itto and usually go to the Midvale one, but we tried this location after seeing the Christmas in Color lights. Itto was my dinner choice to celebrate a job offer I had gotten that day. The ambiance here is very nice and feels upscale compared to the SLC and Midvale spots. Our service was quick as always, and as attentive as we needed. The food tasted great, as expected. My only criticism is that the the rolls were cut in too large of pieces. Of course, we love the happy hour prices on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If I were in the area again, I'd obviously come back. But for most visits I'll stick to the Midvale location! read more

Our servers were friendly but could use some more trainings on knowing the items they offer. Every roll we tried was great. Sashimis and nigiris were meh. I must admit that I was slightly disappointed with the quality of the uni. While it was undeniably fresh, it did not meet the exquisite standards I have come to expect from establishments like Takashi or Chopfuku. The uni lacked the desired sweetness, an aspect I find essential, especially given the price point. Toro was satisfactory, as it melted effortlessly in the mouth. Nevertheless, in my personal opinion, it possessed a slightly stronger fishy flavor than I prefer. Typically, toro exhibits a delicate sweetness that almost eclipses any fishiness. The gunkan was disappointing. Although we ordered the Otoro, uni, and ikura combination, we were served toro with a quail egg instead. Realizing the mistake, we returned the dish to the kitchen, explaining that we had touched the sushi but not consumed it, and clarified that it should have featured uni and ikura on top. The server, displaying utmost courtesy, promptly conveyed the situation to the chef. Surprisingly, rather than preparing a fresh replacement, the chef opted to add salmon roe to the gunkan, omitting the uni entirely. We have been loyal patrons of Itto for years, primarily frequenting the Midvale location. Comparatively, the South Jordan establishment did not disappoint, but we would gladly make the drive to Midvale for a more satisfying experience. read more

The ITTO restaurant in Midvale has been our favorite sushi place so we were very excited to see they were moving into our neighborhood. This place does not disappoint. Originally the location of the Hokkaido, the interior has the same cool vibe, Chihuly-look lighting, and comfortable booths. There's also a long, rough-hewn table that will be the site of all of our family birthday and big moment celebrations. Today was their first day of opening, so the Hokkaido logo was still on the doors. We keep a list of our favorites. ITTO has THE BEST tempura in Utah. Definitely order that. We love the namesake ITTO roll. This time we ordered the Scallop Dream, and the new-to-us Caribbean. Other great rolls include Samurai, Lion King, Vampire, Tokyo, Playboy, Mars, and Godzilla. One of the reasons we like ITTO is that they are able to do almost everything gluten free. It makes it so easy for our daughter, who has celiac disease, to enjoy sushi without worry. The first order was so amazing made me order again. I just couldn't get enough of it but the second order was not consistent to the first and actually tasted different. It had more eel sauce or that brown sauce which gave it an overwhelming sweetness, less coconut and mango cream and the presentation was not there anymore. Yes it was still good but not the flavor I expected from the Romeo and Juliet roll. I am learning I will just be more specific on how I like it. The service is friendly and fast. I have not just walked out of a restaurant with nobody wondering why. We had been fans of Itto since they were a tiny location I Midvale with the owner creating great sushi. As they grew the original location, the quality remained. Now that they have multiple locations, the food quality has become very average and the service terrible. Today we actually walked out of the restaurant after waiting for 30 minutes without any acknowledgment. We did order a sake from the waiter which never came. I would almost understand if the restaurant was busy but it was empty. Sitting at the sushi bar with nothing was a waste of time. Now we need to find a new restaurant read more
