What a great neighborhood bistro. Portuguese flair, nice Portuguese wines & ports add to a creative menu. The appetizer was very good, flavorful and enough for 2. Portuguese stew was scallop shrimp fish and potatoes in a light red sauce. We sat at the bar and had great service. It's a local restaurant, nice group of customers at bar, we were warmly greeted. We will be heading back! Have a lot of other menu items to enjoy.

    Portuguese salad

Our go to, need to get a good meal with cozy atmosphere. The Portuguese salad is my favorite. Then usually grab a special, good priced and very satisfying.

First time visiting. I have heard a lot about this restaurant which is located in Chelmsford…read moreCenter. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. We visited on a very busy night, which is always a good sign. We were lucky to time a seat opening at the bar and we quickly jumped on it. While seated, we could see how busy the bartenders were filling drink orders for both the bar and restaurant patrons. We did not order an appetizer so we jumped right in to drinks and dinner. Our bartender was awesome with follow up and service. Our orders were a hamburger and fries (see pic) and a roasted veggie salad (see pic). We shared some onion rings, as well. My wife got a glass of wine and I had water with a lemon. We did not get a dessert, as the main dish was plenty. Vibe: definitely a happening place in Chelmsford Price: Average Pepsi/Coke: Not sure Parking: Plenty...be sure to check out back of restaurant Service: fantastic! Would I go back?: I would got back....excellent service!

We were seated outside on a beautiful evening at table with umbrella. All the food was good but I would return just for the onion rings! Service was friendly and very professional. The bathrooms are stylish and clean. And the wine/drinks list impressive with the spicy margarita outstanding. I go to this place every time I visit with friends in the area.

Last night…read morewas date night with my two girlfriends and we met up with some of our foodie friends for another food adventure--this time, it took us to the Caribbean. Criollo is located in a small strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside, but as soon as you open the doors you know you're in for a treat. The decor is polished and cozy with a nice bar area; the kitchen is semi-open so you can see the flames as your food is firing. They have fantastic Caribbean and Puerto Rican fare with beautiful, thoughtfully crafted cocktails. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. Here were some of the highlights: -Chicharron: crispy pork belly bites, need I say more -Alcapurria jueyes (Fried crab fritters): golden, crispy fritter with a crunchy exterior and soft, savory inside with flavorful crab filling. The fresh bites from the onion slaw were a nice touch with these. -Chicken empanadas: dip these in the pink sauce with a touch of their spicy sauce and you're in heaven. Slightly crisp and flaky exterior with a tender, chewy bite, perfect for holding the delicious filling. -Mofongo with shrimp and garlic sauce: if you've never tried garlic sauce on Mofongo, I highly suggest it. It's creamy and garlicky in all the right ways. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the Mofongo brought me right back to my trip to Puerto Rico where I first fell in love with it. -Churros: truly the best ones I ever had. It was a last minute add on because "why not!" and the best decision! We made reservations for 6:30pm and when we arrived it wasn't overly busy, but by the time we left every table was filled. And that's no surprise based on our experience.

This restaurant is quite strange upon walking it it is like your average chain bakery restaurant…read morewith pies in the cases. The manager (possibly owner) was at the counter talking with an applicant. There was another girl trying to get tables set up for two other people that were waiting. Nobody acknowledges us for about 5 minutes. After the manager dealt with the applicant she took a phone call and walked away. Eventually she came back and sat us. When you walk into the restaurant you are in silk flower land. Over the arches hanging from the ceiling. It seems as though you are maybe entering a wedding event center. In between dining areas there are tiny disco balls hanging. Like I said strange. The waitress was really nice she answered all of my questions. Water and tea came in closer to a wine glass than a goblet. To start we ordered clam chowder soup. It was lacking flavor. It was thick and seemingly rich but it was missing something. The chicken Marsala was one of the 20 specials of the night. It was breaded chicken cutlets (2) over a bed of fettuccine and Marsala sauce. The chicken lacked and was probably frozen the sauce was tasty. I had chicken cordon bleu with mashed potatoes and Cole slaw. The Cole slaw was ok. It was slightly soupy and not as much crunch as I like. The mashed potatoes seemed like box and the gravy seemed like jarred. Neither one had any substantial flavor. The cutlets were bland. Overall, the waitress was good. The rest left little to be desired. It seems that they are trying to be fancier than the diner they are.
