Breakfast burrito with sausage, egg, cheese, and hash browns, no green chilies, added bacon
    Greg B.

As you can see by my previous review, I wasn't impressed at all by my only other stop at Ivee's. I decided to give them another chance when I learned that they have a breakfast burrito. I ordered one for pickup to go without green chilies and added bacon inside. The menu on their website as of 12/24/2021 states that their breakfast burrito has sausage, egg, and cheese in a grilled tortilla and comes with salsa, sour cream, and hash browns. A picture of the burrito that I saw on social media, though, looked like it had hash browns inside the burrito instead of on the side like the menu implies. The first thing I did when I called was ask what actually comes in it because the information I had was contradictory. Apparently the burrito comes with sausage, egg, cheese, hash browns, and green chilies (which aren't mentioned at all on the online menu) all inside it. Quite different from the online menu description. I received a side of salsa but didn't receive the sour cream. I wouldn't have used it anyway so I'm not mad about it, but again, yet another thing that's different from the online menu. The tortilla wasn't grilled at all and was only warm because of the contents inside. They added a good amount of bacon inside, to the point where it overshadowed the sausage. It's not my favorite breakfast burrito, but it wasn't bad. It would be my pick if I HAD to go to Ivee's again, but Town 9 Tap in Richfield and Kurt Schultz Deli in Brown Deer aren't too far of a drive for breakfast burritos that I prefer.

Alright not really in the mood to overanalyze everything here, kinda is what it is in this case. I've eaten at Ivee's 3 or 4 times in the past few years. No complaints on the service and the food's usually good. I like their Eye Opener Burger...fried egg with bacon and American cheese on top. I've never tried it, but their brunch menu definitely looks on point. One of my friends pointed out this is the only place we've ever known to substitute toast for pancakes....UNHEARD of, right?! Also like to point out that this place seems to have a ginormous 4 page menu so likely to find something for everyone. The atmosphere is that of any laid back bar. There's a horseshoe bar surrounded by tables and booths around it. There were a couple families and some younger people alike dining or just drinking. Anyhow, seemed like an acceptable place to bring children (stopped in during lunch last Sunday), but I'm unsure of the night crowd.

Remember when local places had these paper ads on the tables? Yep, old school and digging it.

Casual small sports bar with tasty pub grub at reasonable prices. The grumpy waitress the reviewer below may have had is gone.

The 1 star is for the great service given by her. It's a bit excessive when patrons are warned beforehand of NO changes to the menu. The creativity of the chef seemed more important than the desire of the customer. My husband ordered the hamburger and it had no flavor and the fries no seasoning. It looked like something they didn't put effort in making either. He also said that the iced tea that was cloudy. Came here for dinner and unfortunately left pretty underwhelmed overall…read more The restaurant itself was clean, and service initially started off fine. When we first arrived, the restaurant was not busy. Only a couple other tables occupied, so expectations were fairly high for a smooth experience. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. The food took quite a while to come out despite how slow it was. When it finally did, it was first delivered to the wrong table before eventually making its way to us. The food runner then randomly grabbed a ranch from our table and brought it to another table. He seemed potentially new, but overall the service felt very disorganized and clueless, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered the cheese curds to start, and they were disappointing. The breading was mushy and extremely greasy, and the cheese itself tasted low quality rather than the fresh curds you'd expect at a Wisconsin pub. We also ordered several wing flavors since they were on special: garlic parm, buffalo, bourbon BBQ, and lemon pepper. One issue right away was the lack of flavor variety overall on the menu. The wings themselves were inconsistent. Sizes varied dramatically, which clearly affected the cook quality. Some were fried so hard they were like chewing leather, while others had soggy, undercooked skin. Flavor wise the buffalo were almost completely flavorless. The lemon pepper was extremely mild. The garlic parm was probably the best of the group, though still just average. The bourbon BBQ was rough. The sauce tasted like an overly sweet, overly salty cheap jarred glaze rather than an actual house-made BBQ sauce. My wife ordered the Mary Mac burger without a bun and was told extra lettuce leaves could be substituted to make it a lettuce wrap. Instead, it came out with just shredded lettuce. The burger itself was overcooked and lacking flavor. The fries were decent enough, but nothing memorable. Overall, this felt like a place with potential that just missed the mark on both execution and consistency during our visit.

Signage outside indicated that they have fish fry on Wednesday night so that was a plus for me. He had a water street melt with chips and fried cheese sticks. He asked for his burger to be cooked medium. The menu indicated his burger had onion spread on it. His burger was not cooked medium but well done. The onion spread was a "sauce overload" and not a pleasant addition to the melt. The cheese sticks were wrapped in a won ton wrap and deep fried. They were served with a marinara. The cheese sticks could have used some type of seasoning to give them flavor. Very bland. I had the fish fry special of fried perch. Mild fishy flavor and definitely frozen. Thin crumb breading that had some type of seasoning. I choose fries, coleslaw, and rye toast. The fries and toast were the best parts. I wanted tartar sauce for my fish but it was so sweet that it wasn't good with the fish. Service was fine. She needed to leave before us and asked if we wanted to close our ticket. We didn't plan on staying as we're traveling so we closed it out. Location was easy to find. Bar area was clean.

On one of our visits the guy behind the bar was so loud and basically stood back there and drank lite the whole time. Then a local (I'm assuming) said something to the bartender and he shouted back "F**k you old man"! I asked someone at the bar does the owner know that his employee uses that kind of language? Much to my surprise he told me that the bartender is the owner! Are you kidding me? If you are visiting from out of town or new to town there are a lot better places to go that they don't use that kind of language. Not that I'm a prude or anything because I've used that language...I guess it's more shocking to hear it when you have people in your bar you've never seen. I was going to give it one star but decided I'd give it two because we just moved here and some friends of mine were in town and I thought I'd give them a second chance. We were met by a very nice bartender named Cassie. She was attentive and probably knew as an EMPLOYEE not to talk that way. Anytime someone came in she greeted them. The kicker here? The "owner" was sitting on the other side of the bar playing dice and still using that language and of course drinking miller lite. We'll go when she is working and/or their daytime bartender Ray. He knows a lot about sports and had a great conversation with my husband.
