I think this is my favorite restaurant of this year! The flavors were immaculate, I love the design and space inside. Our server was super friendly. The menu is expansive, everything that we tried was delicious, it melted in my mouth. Overall, I highly recommend and I would come back.

We came here around 8:30 PM on a Saturday and were seated quickly without a reservation, which was a great start. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, making the experience even more enjoyable. We loved the variety of sashimi, and the house-made wagyu dumplings were a standout. The restaurant itself was clean and beautifully decorated, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. Even though we took our time eating and chatting--and ended up being the last table there--the staff remained patient and attentive throughout. Parking was free retail parking in the nearby garage! Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience with great food and service. Highly recommend!

We tried this hip Izakaya Supa Banana over lunch. We had a variety of food and everyone seems happy with their order. Nice place. A variety of food available for order. Servings are on the small side but they taste good. Also price of the food is on the high side. The restaurant parking is inside the building that offer retail parking. Limited street parking.

New offerings and changes to HH deals; best mochi I've had--the texture and flavor are wonderful! Sunny is amazing and treats you like you're the only customer every time. We try to enjoy ISB at least once a month and treasure our meal and experience.

Super creative Chinese and Japanese fusion restaurant, the menu is extensive and full of unique dishes. My favorites were the foie gras musubi, kuroge wagyu yakiniku and char siew unagi. We learned from our friendly waiter Sunny that the chef is half Japanese half Chinese which explains his inspired dishes. I quickly grew full even though the portions don't look huge but I wish I could have tried more dishes. They have good deals each day like 20% off on Tuesdays so I'll definitely love to come again. The environment is more industrial than I expected and has ample seating.

Teeny tiny little Hokkai donburi for $30

Got pick up from this place after considering it and passing for months, it's in a pretty easy to get spot, the inside feels a bit strange and empty but it's still nice in a minimalist corporate way. We ordered online and their mobile site is very poorly organized but after lots of scrolling we found what we thought sounded good. We ordered the Foie gras-gyu donburi and the Hokkai donburi. On the menu these aren't listed under "small plates" but "donburi & noodles" so I expected normal dinner portions however both of these dishes were very small, the size of a small/child's lunch plate, considering their $30 price tag the very small portion sizes are egregious. Both plates tasted good, the fish and meat quality were good as well but the foie gras was mid in quality (this is a French household we know our foie gras). The issue I have isn't that the food is very expensive for the portions but the non expensive items like cucumbers or mushrooms were basically nonexistent in the dish, filling out the portion wouldn't be difficult or expensive but maybe they think having a cute little box is more important than providing a filling dinner? It's good, it's cute, it's generally good quality but it's an absolutely terrible value and you will walk away hungry if you only order one entree so be prepared for a big check if you want to fill up. I'm rarely one to complain about portion size, I think most restaurants in the US have way too large of portions but a tiny cube isn't a dinner. $75 for two and both getting little cubes and still being hungry after dinner isn't acceptable. If you have cash to burn check it out, if you have reasonable expectations about value you'll probably want to find something more reasonable.

First time dinning here and we say this place is pretty good. Plenty of seating and very modern restaurant. Service was good; got seated right away and the waitress was friendly. Food came out on a timely manner. What we got: Hokaido Blend pourover (4/5) Pretty good coffee and came with the milk and sweetner on the side. I actually like the coffee just as is without anything. Its a good coffee. Tokyo Mule (3/5) It was oke; not strong enough Kani Inari (4/5) This is a good deep fried crab filled inari sushi. The sauce that cane w/ it is really good. Tori Kaarage (4/5) A good chicken kaarage. Not your typical breading. Love the fried curry leaves? That came with it. Although not sure what the goal is for putting in fried chickpeas; it wasnt even crispy. The chicken itself is already good as is. Wagyu Zabuton (3/5) We have a mix feeling about this one. As a whole it has a good flavor profile; but the wagyu were chewy; it was really hard for us to bite through. Kanpachi Sashimi (4/5) Fresh sashimi. Simple as that but a good fish. Overall its a pretty good place. But like the usual izakaya/tapas; it can add up quick and be pricey. We didn't try anything else but the Don/Ramen sounds good; probably will try them next time.

I've been here a couple of times and the food has been delicious. Really fresh fish for the sushi/sashimi pieces and some interesting modern/fusion nigiri options. Most recently I had a gyu-chirashi that was delicious with soft, buttery sashimi and similarly tender beef pieces. Their prices are on the pricey side, especially since their portions tend to be a bit small. Also I recently spent about 20-30 minutes waiting for my check and my server seemed to have forgotten about me, leaving me to have to flag down a different server to pay. I was pretty annoyed at that point, but this other server did give me a discount from my bill as an apology so I forgive them (as long as this doesn't happen again).

Izakaya Supa Banana in Redmond is a masterclass in balance. between precision and comfort, creativity and restraint, energy and calm. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was intentional and flawlessly executed. You can tell the chef here cooks with discipline and respect for ingredients; nothing felt excessive, nothing was under seasoned, and every bite landed exactly where it should. This is food that doesn't shout for attention, it earns it. The atmosphere is where Supa Banana truly sets itself apart. The space is relaxed, open, and thoughtfully designed, with high ceilings and ample seating that never feels crowded. Sitting here in the late evening with a beer feels almost meditative haha, borderline zen. The calm, soothing music ties everything together, creating an environment where time slows down and conversation flows naturally. It's the kind of place you come to unwind during work weeks, not rushed. The menu is impressively extensive, offering something for everyone. Beyond savory dishes, they also shine with a strong selection of desserts and beverages, making it an ideal spot not just for dinner, but also for afternoon tea, casual meetups, or late-night dessert runs. That versatility alone makes it a standout in Redmond's dining scene. Service was nothing short of impeccable. I watched a single server (Sunny) confidently and efficiently manage eight tables without missing a beat. His attentiveness, timing, and composure were remarkable. At this point, Izakaya Supa Banana has firmly earned a spot on my list as one of the top five restaurants in Washington State in the $30-$50 price range. It delivers excellence without pretense, quality without compromise, and an experience that keeps me wanting to return, not just for the food, but for the feeling. Highly recommended.

4.5 Stars Pros: -The menu is expansive and unique. There is a lot of luxe sounding ramen, sushi, drink, and dessert options. "Foie Gras", "Wagyu", and "Truffle", pepper the menu. - The Hokkai Mini Donburi Bowl ($28) was very nice. - We also tried the strawberry and chocolate tiramisu parfaits ($15) and they were so unique - there were lots of housemade components with mochi and creamy toppings. -Staff are very polite :) -The interior is clean and I loved the cushion seats. Cons: -VERY expensive, equivalent to high end sushi prices. Probably the only reason to dock a star. There aren't really normal rolls on the menu, so expect small plates / sashimi / nigiri mostly. Overall, I enjoyed this spot!

It's our first time here. We were a group of 5 trying out a new place. This is in Redmond. Parking is off to the side, in a covered building. The restaurant is quite spacious, brightly lit with glass on all sides. On one side wall of the restaurant is a long bench with throw pillows. There's a gender free restroom and also one for handicap. The decor is clean, with a simple modern feel. At lunch on a Wednesday wasn't busy, so there was only one server. She was very attentive, filling up empty water glasses quickly. She's Korean, very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is Japanese modern fusion---traditional Japanese food, mixed with foie gras, truffles in some. The food on plates and bowls are artfully designed. They also taste pretty good. The sushi pieces are fresh. The ramen with oysters and clams was delicate. The Black Cod wonderfully cooked and very buttery. The katsu shrimp was tasty and do were all the Pablo crusted vegetables. I would have given this restaurant a 5, but I thought it was a little on the pricey side. I've been to other Japanese restaurants that were priced similarly, but portions were larger. So at least you felt you were getting a good value. But I give this restaurant A for creativity and execution.

Food was great. Fav being the truffle Kampachi. Didn't care so much for the wagyu sukiyaki, felt like the smoky taste of the broth would have came out cleaner without the kimchi but my bf did enjoy it. Fantastic service, very attentive and knowledgeable. ambiance is cute minimal aesthetic. Will definitely come back!

    Frank L.

Delicious. Fresh. Everything, but the highly recommended foie gras that the server was touting - it didn't go well for some reason. The sushi itself was clean, beautiful, and just screamed "photo me." Something was just slight, slight off as in not enough wow flavor, but still 4 stars worthy enough to say it was really enjoyable. Couple that with an open, bright, feeling vibe, in a Japanese contemporary minimalistic setting, it was a very pleasant lunch.

I love Japanese curry, and was so stoked to see such a unique curry on the menu (made with dark chocolate so it gives a richer flavor). $5 more to add shredded cabbage and miso soup; I definitely think this is worth it because there's no other fresh greens in the entree. It helps cut the heavy, fried-ness of the katsu and provides a different texture. My shrimp (ebi) katsu curry was so flaky and crispy, which is so hard to find at katsu shops where the breading is cakey and falls off the protein. However, the shrimp to flakes ratio was off and I could hardly taste the shrimp or know when I bit shrimp versus the flakes because there was so much breading. This wasn't a problem for the pork katsu, though! The portion size is massive; half the plate is rice, and the other half is the curry. For $29 for the shrimp katsu ($34 total pre tax and tip after adding the shredded cabbage and miso soup combo), I think it's worth the price if you're starving or sharing. I think it'd be cool if they did a protein combo where you pick two proteins, especially because they have a variety of pork options. This would help people justify their cost while tasting more of the menu with less overwhelming commitment. Servers are kind and attentive, and they don't rush you when you order or need more time. The interior is beautiful and well-lit with bar seating, tables and booths, and high top tables too. I'd come again if I wanted to share a katsu entree with a friend!

On top of that, when we politely asked a server about a dish that never arrived, his response was extremely rude. He told us, "We know what we're doing," instead of offering an apology or solution. To make matters worse, we noticed cockroaches on the walls, which is completely unacceptable and very concerning from a hygiene standpoint. Between the long wait times, poor customer service, and serious cleanliness issues, this is not a place I would recommend. We expected much better.

The broth (I had kombu) was pretty light, so it wasn't the best. The service was pretty friendly and the only fault to them was they didn't come around to refill our pots with hot water.
