Such a wonderful experience with exceptional food, great service, and the whole atmosphere inside was perfect. We ordered things that we have never had before and enjoyed every moment. Truly, it was a fabulous experience. I very rarely walk away from a restaurant feeling wowed, but this took the cake. The flavors were out of this world. Hats off to the chef! Fresh off the plane from San Francisco, my daughter and family took me here for dinner. Izakaya reminded me of shops offering skewers in Tokyo, my not here, it is more modern fusion Japanese restaurant. We had a bowl of chips served with adamame dip, sooo good! Then chirashi, pomegranate honey black cod, butter clams and udon and tempura for my grandson. Everything was very delicious! We also added some nigiri but I forgot the pictures. We found this restaurant by chance as we exited the car wash nearby and it is a surprise about the food here. There is a parking garage on the side of the building and there are usually plenty of spots. We usually come on the weekend and even though there were not many people, we had to wait a long time at the entrance for someone to come. There were many empty tables as well but it seems like they were short on weekend staffs or something. But that may not be a good impression on new customers. There are tables of many sizes so it can fit different groups easily. The menu has many interesting options as they are specialized in fusion sushi and other Japanese dishes. Reading the menu is enough for us to want to try many things in there. The server is really nice as well and they try to explain as well as recommend many things clearly. It again takes a long time for the food to be served after ordering. The quality of the food is really good though and the flavors are combined nicely. However, the price is still a little bit on the higher end for the Redmond area so expect to pay a bit if you want to fill your belly. read more

Came here because my neighbor had mentioned some yummy eats here. Love the clean aesthetic but for how busy the lunch time got with only one host/server seems to make for slow service. It's izakaya style so food keeps coming out of the kitchen as soon as it's ready so it was really a lot of him to keep up with. We got the $28 wagyu ramen which is a lot for the smallest bowl of ramen I've even seen. At least they didn't nickel and dime you for each topping in addition! Server kept saying the dishes are meant to be shared but looking around at the tables the portions were very small. The lady next to us got the $20 don which came in a small rice bowl. Prices are definitely high and seems to serve mostly the Microsoft work clientele. read more

I will start by giving props to Supa Banana for their absolutely fantastic chicken karaage. The way they do the fry is pretty unique, it's more flaky than typical karaage and really light and tasty! It was the first dish that came out, so I ended up having pretty high expectations for the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal did not live up to those high expectations. I ordered the unagi char siew which seemed really popular here and on Google, but it was just OK and a bit too salty for me. The wagyu udon was also just OK, but the soft boiled egg tasted like one of those preserved soft-boiled eggs you can buy pre-packaged at the store (weirdly rubbery and vinegary tasting). If I ever came back, it would probably just be for karaage and drinks. The drink pictured here is the hot chocolate hojicha, which was solid. Very beautiful, open, and clean restaurant! The service here was very friendly, but unfortunately the food takes a while to come out. The drinks and desserts are delicious with a lot of originality! We came here around 8:30 PM on a Saturday and were seated quickly without a reservation, which was a great start. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, making the experience even more enjoyable. We loved the variety of sashimi, and the house-made wagyu dumplings were a standout. The restaurant itself was clean and beautifully decorated, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. Even though we took our time eating and chatting--and ended up being the last table there--the staff remained patient and attentive throughout. Parking was free retail parking in the nearby garage! First time dinning here and we say this place is pretty good. Plenty of seating and very modern restaurant. Service was good; got seated right away and the waitress was friendly. Food came out on a timely manner. What we got: Hokaido Blend pourover (4/5) Pretty good coffee and came with the milk and sweetner on the side. I actually like the coffee just as is without anything. Its a good coffee. Tokyo Mule (3/5) It was oke; not strong enough Kani Inari (4/5) This is a good deep fried crab filled inari sushi. The sauce that cane w/ it is really good. Tori Kaarage (4/5) A good chicken kaarage. Not your typical breading. Love the fried curry leaves? That came with it. Although not sure what the goal is for putting in fried chickpeas; it wasnt even crispy. The chicken itself is already good as is. Wagyu Zabuton (3/5) We have a mix feeling about this one. As a whole it has a good flavor profile; but the wagyu were chewy; it was really hard for us to bite through. Kanpachi Sashimi (4/5) Fresh sashimi. Simple as that but a good fish. Overall its a pretty good place. But like the usual izakaya/tapas; it can add up quick and be pricey. I've been here a couple of times and the food has been delicious. Really fresh fish for the sushi/sashimi pieces and some interesting modern/fusion nigiri options. Most recently I had a gyu-chirashi that was delicious with soft, buttery sashimi and similarly tender beef pieces. Their prices are on the pricey side, especially since their portions tend to be a bit small. Also I recently spent about 20-30 minutes waiting for my check and my server seemed to have forgotten about me, leaving me to have to flag down a different server to pay. I was pretty annoyed at that point, but this other server did give me a discount from my bill as an apology so I forgive them (as long as this doesn't happen again). read more

Super creative Chinese and Japanese fusion restaurant, the menu is extensive and full of unique dishes. My favorites were the foie gras musubi, kuroge wagyu yakiniku and char siew unagi. We learned from our friendly waiter Sunny that the chef is half Japanese half Chinese which explains his inspired dishes. I quickly grew full even though the portions don't look huge but I wish I could have tried more dishes. They have good deals each day like 20% off on Tuesdays so I'll definitely love to come again. Got pick up from this place after considering it and passing for months, it's in a pretty easy to get spot, the inside feels a bit strange and empty but it's still nice in a minimalist corporate way. We ordered online and their mobile site is very poorly organized but after lots of scrolling we found what we thought sounded good. We ordered the Foie gras-gyu donburi and the Hokkai donburi. On the menu these aren't listed under "small plates" but "donburi & noodles" so I expected normal dinner portions however both of these dishes were very small, the size of a small/child's lunch plate, considering their $30 price tag the very small portion sizes are egregious. Both plates tasted good, the fish and meat quality were good as well but the foie gras was mid in quality (this is a French household we know our foie gras). The issue I have isn't that the food is very expensive for the portions but the non expensive items like cucumbers or mushrooms were basically nonexistent in the dish, filling out the portion wouldn't be difficult or expensive but maybe they think having a cute little box is more important than providing a filling dinner? It's good, it's cute, it's generally good quality but it's an absolutely terrible value and you will walk away hungry if you only order one entree so be prepared for a big check if you want to fill up. I'm rarely one to complain about portion size, I think most restaurants in the US have way too large of portions but a tiny cube isn't a dinner. $75 for two and both getting little cubes and still being hungry after dinner isn't acceptable. If you have cash to burn check it out, if you have reasonable expectations about value you'll probably want to find something more reasonable. read more

For us and our taste, this one didn't impress. Must be about the dishes that aren't sushi. Sushi dishes didn't taste fresh and it's overpriced for what you get. I'm sure the other dishes are solid. Sooo good! Everything is always really fresh and the cuts of sashimi are so nice and thick. They have traditional sashimi, but also modern choices with very interesting flavor combinations! We've been twice so far and both times were so delish. The parfaits/desserts are also delicious I would probably choose here for every special occasion! It's our first time here. We were a group of 5 trying out a new place. This is in Redmond. Parking is off to the side, in a covered building. The restaurant is quite spacious, brightly lit with glass on all sides. On one side wall of the restaurant is a long bench with throw pillows. There's a gender free restroom and also one for handicap. The decor is clean, with a simple modern feel. At lunch on a Wednesday wasn't busy, so there was only one server. She was very attentive, filling up empty water glasses quickly. She's Korean, very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is Japanese modern fusion---traditional Japanese food, mixed with foie gras, truffles in some. The food on plates and bowls are artfully designed. They also taste pretty good. The sushi pieces are fresh. The ramen with oysters and clams was delicate. The Black Cod wonderfully cooked and very buttery. The katsu shrimp was tasty and do were all the Pablo crusted vegetables. I would have given this restaurant a 5, but I thought it was a little on the pricey side. I've been to other Japanese restaurants that were priced similarly, but portions were larger. So at least you felt you were getting a good value. But I give this restaurant A for creativity and execution. read more

A unique spin on sushi! We ordered 4 different special nigiri's - seared spicy salmon, otoro with salsa, salmon with Brie and cereal, and otoro ceviche. All of them were super flavorful with a lot of fish! They top these nigiri's with marinated chopped fish, so they are more filling. I thought each one was a flavor bomb and super unique - nothing like any sushi I've had before, but not in a bad way - very interesting and delicious! We also loved the pomegranate black cod - a good amount of fish that melts in your mouth and flavorful cucumber salad. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the gyu don although I've read good reviews about it - the beef wasn't super tender or juicy. I recommend coming here for sushi and fish! They also give you fresh wasabi from Kyoto and house made soy sauce, which definitely elevate the experience. This place has been on my list so excited to finally have tried it! My friend and I came in on a Sunday for dinner and it was super empty. Parking wasn't too bad, there's a garage nearby for retail customers. The place itself is roomy and spacious but feels modern clean and cozy. Their menu is pretty large and has a good variety of items. I knew from reviews that it was on the pricier side, but damn seeing the actual prices per item was crazy. Service was super nice and we were checked on throughout our meal. We ordered the miso soup, the butter clams, the gyuniku chirashi bowl, and the scallop crab sushi. Miso soup had radish, mushrooms, and tofu, and didn't have that rich umami miso flavor. It was more sweet, which was okay. The scallop crab sushi was a bomb of flavor. The curry flavor was so yummy, and didn't overpower the natural sweetness of the crab and scallop. But for $8 per piece, it's definitely a treat. The gyuniku bowl was a lot smaller than expected, the cuts of beef and fish were good quality. The beef was super tender, the bite was like butter. The toro was really fresh as well. Clams were really good too. It comes with some daikon radish which had soaked up some of the clam sauce, but maybe not enough for my liking. I had to dip it in soy sauce for full impact (lol). The soup from the clams was umami and perfect. We ended up mixing the clam sauce with the miso soup which worked so well together. For dessert, we ordered the matcha affogato which is largeee. It's filled to the brim with cream, red bean, boba, ice cream, etc. when it first came, there was no space to pour the matcha over. The flavors of everything was really good. But once you mix the green matcha with the brown and beige cream... it turns into a really nasty, unappetizing color of puke brown/green. Still yummy.. but gross looking haha Overall, I had a good experience. I don't think the prices are that reasonable given the location, but the food was really delicious. This place has a feel of a modern city izakaya. It is not the bustling Tokyo izakata with their grilled selections. It dues sushi well and is decent on the other foods. We didn't try the typical nigiri but the nigiri with all the extras. At first I missed the flavors of the fish because there is do much other stuff on it but so you feel and taste the amazing texture of the fish. The more we ate, the more we liked it. We also hit a ramen and a curry. Both were good but not great. The service was nice despite being a busy Friday night. We will come back but mainly focus on the sushi. read more

I discovered this place a couple weeks ago while researching for Japanese restaurants around the Eastside, but had no plans on going since the prices were pretty intimidating (on google the average range is $50-100). However, this evening, my parents wanted to go out, and chose this restaurant for a new dining experience. For the first impression, I was surprised by how spacious the restaurant was. The decorations are minimal, and the overall ambiance was like a chill lounge with an underlying feeling of classiness. There were very few people in the restaurant, and one server managing was the area. However, he was very friendly and efficient, taking the time to introduce himself, and checking in occasionally to answer questions. The prices were, as expected, higher than we'd like, and this in contrast with the casual environment was not a great first impression for some in my group (I liked the ambiance and lofi music, but it's definitely a subjective preference). Once the we've tried the food though, we were all pleasantly surprised. We got three dishes- kare gyu, Katsu-chirashi, and Mori sashimi. The sizes were a little small, but very filling and delicious. We could definitely taste the high quality of ingredients-the sashimi was very fatty and rich, the tempura/vegetables light/crisp, and the curry sauce is so flavorful- I loved every bite of it. We finished everything feeling satisfied. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I personally would like to come back for more kare gyu. read more

This is my 2nd time here and I cannot wait to come back again. It does hurt the wallet every time I go but it's so yummy. My 2 girlfriends and I got the poke and chips, chirashi mini don, and the miso tonkatsu to share. We had leftovers and we didn't finish but we were all full. The poke and chips were my favorite - it was so refreshing and crunchy and addictive. The miso tonkatsu was very juicy and tasty and a large portion. The mini don was hard to share but solid as well. My friend got a drink too and I wish we had space for dessert. I can't wait to go back for dessert. We made a reservation for 3 people on Monday night and it wasn't too crowded. The chopsticks were interesting since both ends were pointy. There weren't that many people there at 11:45a. Two families and one with a crying loud child about 4. Parents just let him cry and scream all through lunch. It was super annoying that even the waiter didn't say anything. The food looked good. We got the tori karaage. It was definitely unique and tasty. We like the light breading and the fried corn. Next was the Nami, 10 pieces of sashimi. It was fresh and nicely size but no rice. It was unusual since most sushi places would give you one bowl of rice. We just wanted a taste since we were going to a dessert place right after but really... 2 items and a rice for over $53 was not worth it. Plus the service was a bit slow.
