Another average ramen spot that will just last here as a food option. Their Tonkotsu broth was lacking flavor, but had the proper denser consistency. The Noburu Black (black garlic oil) Ramen seems the way to go for something more flavorful. At least their chashu was tender too. Pass on the Noburu Bun which was just eh and soggy; the sauce profile is a bit tangy and odd. They offer a variety of sushi rolls, but as tempting as they are to add onto the order, the prices are expensive and probably not worth the cost for what I assume would be average quality too. Service was ok, minimal if anything. Some tables received physical menus while sitting down, while we weren't offered them. We came here on a Sunday for lunch and I ordered the Katsu Bowl. It was pretty underwhelming though. The portion was smaller than expected, the rice was soggy/mushy and the katsu wasn't crispy. We've come here other times for their ramen which is pretty standard but we probably wouldn't order the katsu again. Checked this restaurant for dinner. Let's start with the basics. Plenty of parking. And friendly staff. Upon entering the restaurant, you see a section of Japanese anime figures , cute items, matcha etc for purchase. It wasn't too crowded and we were seated pretty quickly. They have both online and paper menus. I tried the shrimps karage ramen - my on my it's a creamy tonkotsu based that comes with 2 tempura shrimp and 2 chicken karage in the ramen bowl. The noburu bun is also a nice choice with soft bun and crunchy and crispy chicken, lettuce, mayo and sweet(ish) sauce. We also tried nigiri salmon belly and lemon double salmon roll. Personally, I like the sushi over the ramen at this location. Just one callout - I ordered a good sake. And they didn't have it at the store and offered to replace it with a hot sake. However, the person forgot to bring it and then deducted the charge from the menu without bothering to ask us. Weird. Also, their online menu has poor descriptions and errors and can use some serious updates. read more

What a difference a year makes!! Last year we had some issues with odd timing of food delivery and a couple other quirky things, but today went great! Shop is very clean and open easy to just have your own conversation. Host brought us right to the table, and pointed out the QR for ordering. She got right on the drinks as the order went in. For me, Kirin on tap, and an iced mango matcha that was probably one of the best we have had. Super high quality green tea! Ordered a roll, some tempura prawns, spicy tuna crispy rice, and tonkatsu for the two of us. Servings were generous. The seafood dishes were extremely fresh and flavorful, but balanced. The tonkatsu ramen broth had a great fat content and decent depth of flavor - maybe a little more tare. Was great to see one of the sushi chefs from the old Sushiland that was formerly in the same space. Host came back to check frequently, and offered to run the bill so that we didn't have to deal with the QR system again. Had a great chat about the matcha and the shop. Family friendly delicious ramen! Located in the Bella Bottega shopping area, parking is easy. Overall ambiance is clean, pleasant, and casual. You order via QR code on the table with your phone or via the server. Food came out in a timely manner and service was very courteous and considerate! We got 2 bowls of ramen and a small chicken karaage bowl and everything was well seasoned with good texture. Noodle portions were generous and the chicken karaage were the hugest I've seen. Pretty disappointed in the food. Was craving sushi and decided to stop by this spot after seeing the reviews. The interior is definitely cute and clean, but the food was a miss for us. We got the black garlic ramen, sashimi carpaccio, and the shiitake mushroom tempura. The black garlic ramen didn't have a lot of black garlic flavor and didn't stand out. The meat was tougher than what I've usually had in ramen and overall a very mid bowl of ramen. The texture of the noodles were good though. The sashimi carpaccio had a good flavor to it, salmon and yellowtail were decent. The tuna tasted a little old/not as good quality. I think with the other two it's just easier to hide any imperfections and tuna is easy to tell if it's not up to par. The mushroom tempura was weirdly hard. Usually it's very light and airy, but crispy. These felt like they were a day old already fried and then just quickly refried. The very outside was crisp, but the inside had a thick layer you needed to get through. Overall would not recommend stopping by here. This place is somewhat authentic as everything seems to done slightly different compared to a regular ramen shop in the US, but there are some concerns. The pancake is beyond small for that price. The ramen was good but the sushi tasted meh with a burnt feeling so I guess that's just how it should taste for authentic rolls. It is not bad overall but the taste/flavor is just not there. We all enjoyed our dinners, and I was glad to learn about this Japanese restaurant in a busy spot in Redmond. Noburu Ramen and Sushi is located in the shopping center where the Regal Cinemas and QFC is in Redmond, so is around many other businesses, with plenty of parking and not far from downtown Redmond. Of all the restaurants in the area, Noburu Ramen and Sushi is a great addition, offering Japanese favorites, like ramen, sushi of all kinds, kaarage, etc. I ordered two rolls that had seared salmon on top (my fav!) - the Godzilla Roll and the Volcano Roll. Although the Godzilla Roll had more to it, with shrimp tempura and eel, I preferred the Volcano Roll because I could taste more of the seared salmon on top since inside was just cucumber and crab. Sometimes, simple is better! For both of the rolls, it had too much of eel sauce. But it was still good. The menu had a lot to offer, and everything out of the kitchen looked delicious. Staff was friendly, and what's nice is that you can order at your table with the QR code, so you don't have to wait for a server to take down orders. I can't pass up a new ramen and sushi restaurant when I see one... so the four of us picked up takeout one Saturday. As we walked in, the host kindly guided us to one of the self-ordering kiosks. The screen was easy to navigate with clear pictures of all the items. We waited for 15 minutes before our food was ready, which wasn't bad at all, since we ordered three bowls of ramen and a few different sushi items. With multiple waiters, a couple sushi chefs and several employees in the kitchen, the restaurant appeared to be well-staffed and they had a good system going. + NOBURU BLACK RAMEN ($16): The to-go container came packed with the bowl of soup and a tray of noodles and toppings above it. For the price, the serving was very reasonable, including a large portion of noodles, half an egg, mushrooms, corn, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts and two slices of pork chashu. Although a little dry, the chashu slices were pretty meaty compared to what you receive at other ramen places these days. The egg was perfectly jammy and the noodles were nice and firm. Unfortunately, there wasn't anywhere to request low sodium broth. When drinking it alone, it was on the saltier side. Despite the visible layer of black garlic oil on top, the garlic flavor itself was quite subtle. + VOLCANO ROLL ($17): Spicy seared salmon, crab mix, avocado, cucumber & unagi sauce. The salmon was nicely seared, although the roll was overly saucy, in my opinion. With the crab salad and avocado both having a creamy texture, I was glad the crunchy cucumber livened it up. + DOUBLE SHRIMP ROLL ($20): Shrimp tempura with cucumber, avocado and seared shrimp with green onion on top. Since the shrimp is fully cooked, the sear didn't really add much overall other than just a little smokiness. This was like a typical shrimp tempura roll, taken up a notch. + CATERPILLAR ROLL ($18): Unagi, avocado, cucumber, tobiko, sesame seeds and unagi sauce. This roll was okay. The eel consisted of more skin than meat, which is a peeve of mine. In general, I feel like it's tough to find a place that serves meaty unagi in sushi rolls, so this was on par with other restaurants. The sizes of the rolls were reasonable with an ideal rice-to-filling ratio. For those who don't eat raw fish, Noburu offers several rolls with all cooked ingredients. This is a nice addition to Redmond and I look forward to tasting more off their menu in the future! read more

Came here on a whim, because I was looking for a noodle place and I was headed to the Vietnamese place a couple doors down, but I saw this and decided to try it. We got the creamy chicken ramen, the veggie ramen with a side of pork, and the spicy chicken ramen. All the ramen's were delicious!! The fried brussels sprouts were really good as well. Decided to give this place a try. The interior is nice, sushi bar counter and plenty of seating. Service was ok - they just brought my order never checking in again. What got me was - 1. The glass for my water was filthy. First there was something black floating in it. After I rinsed it and dumped the water into my bowl of miso (which doesn't come with the lunch and is extra), I poured some water into the glass only to see many floating particles - there was something dirty dried to the bottom of the cup - so gross 2. Had an early dinner here, mostly to find out whether it could be an alternative to Sushi Samurai in Seattle. Sadly, they do not offer any vegan sushi, even though many of their rolls could easily be made vegan. The only vegan dish offered was the vegan ramen, which was very good. I certainly would've gotten the fried jalapeños and some sushi if any had been vegan. The ambience here is very relaxed, with good music, and pleasant interior design. For anyone with social anxiety, they offer contactless ordering and pay, which is very convenient. Servers dont loom over you and interrupt often, which I appreciated. I went in and walked down to the bar to grab it. Super easy. Glad I checked in my bag because there were no chopsticks. No utensils to speak of. I grabbed some myself and walked out. Unfortunately, there were also no soy sauce packets, so I ate my roll dry. Also, the wasabi was so bland I had to put so much on to even taste it. And the roll was just bland and almost too creamy... are they mayo obsessed? Keep reading- Miso was really bland as well. I was looking forward to that nice soybean flavor, but it wasn't there. I did like the amount of seaweed though. Finally, the potato croquette was a big surprise- it did not have Katsu sauce drizzled on it like I'm used to, but instead had a horrendous amount of kewpie mayonnaise. I don't like mayonnaise much and had to wipe off as much as I could with napkins..... from my car because they gave me none. I only ate half because I got too grossed out. Sad too because the croquette itself was tasty. They have many things that need improving, I think. We were craving ramen and decided to give this a try. Prices are a little up there, but in line with any other place. Ramen was decent. Probably not the best that is out there, but it was flavorful and came with a hefty number of toppings. Broth seemed minimal though. Ramen: there are a TON of noodles -- very generous helping but you will run out of toppings quickly before finishing the noodles. Less soup than noodles I'd say when comparing to other ramen shops. I found myself moving the noodles aside to reach for some soup. Yes, the noodles reach all the way down to the bottom of the bowl! Tonkatsu Ramen: rich broth that's not overly salty or greasy!
