The location for JJs isn't the best but the food is good, specifically the fish and chicken, I usually get catfish with wings.

I am visiting Minnesota and saw a familiar restaurant name. I thought this was a franchise like the one in ATL. NOT EVEN CLOSE!! The place was clean but nothing eye catching! They had my order ready for pick up on time. The cashier was really nice and easygoing. We got the fried catfish and chicken wings combo, and it was delicious. The batter on the catfish was just right and the chicken was perfectly cooked; not too dry and the seasoning was balanced. Definitely coming back here to try more of their menu later. read more

I'm so pissed at this place. I've been going there since it opened and loved everything on the menu. Now, they just don't give a good hoot about what they serve or customer service. I placed an order on #GrubHub and the menu included oysters. Needless to say, they didn't have oysters as the menu indicated, and they have a problem keeping them in stock. Who's responsible for purchasing items for this biz? It don't seem like they got a handle with what's in stock or when to purchase more. On top of that, they won't let me order oysters over the phone, I have to come in and place the order. You ask, how do you know? We'll that's the only thing my sickly mother repeatedly asks for. Good thing Millions Crab opened right across the street!!! So, I called back once my order arrived and it was missing sauce. I called and indicated they didn't include any sauce e.g. hot, bbq, sweet&sour, etc. First of all, why isn't that an option? Ahmad indicated that they don't add sauce on deliveries. Really?!?!?!? Ordered through Door Dash and our order was messed up. We called JJ Fish and tried to explain the problem. The first person asked what they could do to fix the problem and put us on hold and then came back on the line and dropped an f bomb and said don't call us back and hung up on us. We have been long time customers and to be treated this way is completely unacceptable. read more

Awful food old shrimp and mushy fried mushrooms with the batter falling off

yeah this place was gross! I ordered a special which came with 4 wings 1 Catfish 5 shrimp, fries and drink was not included for the price they was asking for I had to pay an extra 2 dollars for fries and a drink. then I got my food the fish and chicken was old and dry the shrimp I guess was freshly cooked. all the matter is I'm going to ask questions about how old the food is before I order again from there. Take out only place for Chicken wings and fried fish and other southern treats. There is another locaton in Saint Paul. I'm not sure where Chain started, but recently moved into MN. According to their website they just expanded their menu. I always get the chicken wings with BBQ sauce, it's pretty tangy BBQ sauce. Their hot sauce is more like a buffalo sauce. They serve it with fries that are good, not great, and slice white bread to soak up sauce. read more

I use to go here when I lived in Brooklyn Park 2 years ago. And I love to come here because it's like A &J chicken in south Minneapolis in some ways. But what I dislike about this place is that the customer service is not up to par. I would love to really have some friendly service with some good food. I've never had poor service here! The Chicken Tender Dinner is my go-to meal but at times I'll order a pizza puff or gyro. Everything is consistent and the prices are very reasonable! Great owners and great food!! read more

Decent food AWFUL service. First off it is a takeout restaurant so there are no seats. This would be fine except if you are a casual diner you may be unaware of this if its your first time. And more importantly the wait there is crazy. I came in on a relatively slow night placed a small order that took 40 minutes to complete. It is all fried food so i am not sure how it took so long. And it was hot! Like BLAZING. The outside temp was somewhere in the 80's-90's and they had no A/C running. Since i made the mistake apparently of expecting my fried food to come out in sooner than a 1/2 hour, I was forced to sit in their hot unaccommodating seating area. Which makes not sense as there is plenty of space to throw at least a table and a few more chairs since they clearly expect people to wait. The servers were not very hygienic and the girl at the register acted like customers were inconveniencing her by buying food. I used to go to the North Mpls location and they were fast in a smaller area with seemingly more clientele. What is baffling is that they appear to opening another restaurant like up the street... The food was good but I could not recommend this spot. read more

Ordered gyros, fried okra, and jalepeno poppers- AMAZING spices on their food, not greasy at all, and very good! My husband and I ate everything up very fast because it was so good. We are definitely going back to try some more things off the menu. Seriously a diamond in the rough for places to get food around here! read more

This happened on a Sunday afternoon I went in to purchase a gyro when i placed my order the cashier specifically asked me if I want everything on it and the cook heard me as well he was looking directly at me the order was placed to go so I waited until i got home to open it confident that i knew exactly what I was going to get. When i opened it there was just meat and onions wrapped in a pita bread. No tomatoes or cucumber sauce as everyone should know that's what comes on a gyro. I was a regular customer there now I found a new place to get my gyros. read more

My experience is not good. The customer service are lacked. there are no energy for the food. although it's over size, the food are mediocre. The fish were thin and over batter, the chicken were ok-ish...There were no seasoning in the fish or chicken. Something better change or this restaurant will not survive for the next five year. read more
