I go to this location everytime that I am back in the Chicago Beverly neighborhood. I believe this is located off 109th and Western in very cozy neighborhood. The fish here is always fresh and usually doesn't take a long time to prepare. The only problem with this location is the parking. The parking lot is extremely small so you have either park on Western or in the neighborhood on 109th. Either way take caution. Anyway, I definitely recommend this location. read more

Not sure why people are complaining about hot sauce and mild sauce on the side when there is a table with gallons of that stuff to pump for yourself on a little table and they set out small plastic cups with lids to take with you. This is my favorite J&J Fish and the main one I frequent. I used to love the one on 109th & Halsted but their fish doesn't taste as good as it used to back in the day. I think its because they got a new cook. The J&J Fish on 109th & Western is right down the street from where I stay so I visit quite often (at least a couple of times a month), I go so much that all the cooks know me lol. My go to is the small perch fried hard. Sometimes I'll get chicken if the wife is craving it, we'll usually split a 10 wings dinner. Their fish and chicken is always cooked made to order so it always fresh. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because their mild sauce isn't the greatest. To be honest their mild sauce is actually barbeque sauce pretending to be mild sauce. If they had the Harold's sauce then this would be a 5 star review. Other than the mild sauce issue this J&J Fish is consistent and their food is fresh and good. If you're ever in the Beverly area of Chicago and you're craving some good fried fish or chicken wings you have to stop by J&J's on 109th & Western, your appetite will be satisfied. P.S. make sure you tell them to fry your fish or chicken hard so it can stay crispy because a lot of times after they box your food in the container it tends to get soggy. Also they only put lemon pepper on your food. They offer hot sauce and mild sauce but you have to put it on your food yourself. There is a table with a big jug of mild sauce & hot sauce with little plastic cups with the tops to put your sauces in. read more

The people at this location are so rude! I placed an order for catfish nuggets with mild sauce on them and the man argued with me about how he will not put the sauce on it and I need to pay for it to be on the side. That's unheard of for me and I realized, why am I (the customer) arguing you with YOU (the cook) about a service? I'm giving you money. Ah well. I took my $10 over to 109th & Halsted.
