Best beef on the southside! Definitely a homemade beef. I only tried the beef extra dipped with hot peppers .

Been twice. Passed it bunch over the years. They pack a lot into the space. The shipping…read morecontainers certainly catch your eye as you pass the building. First time I came in got southwestern chicken soup. Spicy without being overwhelmingly hot. Lot better than progreessos version of the soup. And a grilled cheese that came with fries. Grilled cheese is an outstanding sandwich one that I don't eat as much since I'm not a kid anymore but it felt all warm, gooey brought back childhood memories. Second time I came got jerk chicken salad. Flavorful, zesty. The jerk chicken didn't have the taste from like an actual jerk place but I liked it. I got the Maplewood fat pug for a beverage. It also looks like they sell beer to go.

Food is fantastic. Price is high. Service from Nick (owner) was TERRIBLE…read more I was a long-time (20+ yr), loyal customer up til I was yelled at by Nick because I spoke up about consistently receiving orders much later than promised via online orders. I had placed many online orders for pick-up on my 30min lunch break, to ensure I had proper time to drive to, pick up my food, and quickly drive back from the restaurant. After a few pick-ups took around 20mins after promised time, I was pretty upset. I was told they only start making food once the person is there to pick it up, so I asked what's the point of placing an order online and receiving a pick-up time, when the food only starts to get made once you're at the restaurant to pick up? That's when the owner stepped in (My family and I have had many pleasant convos with him before at the old location), turned red, bunched up his face, and legit yelled at me "What do you expect? Do you want your fries to be cold or do you want them fresh?" (I was taken aback, and responded "I expect my order to be ready at the time indicated"). He told me I could go elsewhere. I get it. I was receiving consistently poor service and was upset when I asked the cashier about timing, so he stepped in to defend his worker. What I don't get is how you can tell a customer to go somewhere else when they're expecting their food at the time promised (or at least within 5 mins...I'm not THAT picky). Perhaps my expectations are too high?

The last visit we waited 45 minutes for a hamburger and mac and cheese bites while there were only 4 tables occupied. The hostess experience has become TERRIBLE. We've gone at different times, different days, and somehow it always feels like asking for a normal table in the dining area turns into a negotiation. We don't want the noisy booth area with TVs blasting in our faces. We want to sit in the actual restaurant section and have a peaceful dinner. Why does that feel like asking for VIP treatment? Am I supposed to be royalty to sit at a table? Then the explanation is always: "We're understaffed." I'm sorry, but after hearing the same thing over and over while looking around at a mostly empty restaurant, it starts sounding less like an explanation and more like an excuse. The sad part is that this isn't coming from someone who visited once and had a bad day. We've probably gone there 25-30 times this past year and that's exactly why this is so disappointing.... When you keep giving a place chance after chance and somehow things just keep getting worse, eventually you stop making excuses for it. It feels like they're acting as if they're doing customers a favor by letting them eat there.. Not again...
