This was my 2nd time trying this place. The first time I tried it I remember it being really good! This last time I tried it I feel like the food lacked flavor. Not sure if every batch is different and it might be a hit or miss, depending on how the batch of food comes out. It's still a good place to get fast food and at a cheap price. J&J Wok is Chinese fast food in warm chafing trays so don't expect just made food from a wok although it may be if ordered à la carte.  The young, Salvadoran American lady behind the counter is friendly, charming, affable. I appreciate her good spirits.  Food to me here is closer to 2 stars. The saving grace is the huge amount of food that can be crammed in a styrofoam box at a relatively low price of $10 plus tax for two items with minuscule bits of veggies fried rice & flavourless wheat chao mein noodles tinted brown w/ soy sauce. I got orange chicken nuggets which seem more fried batter coating than chicken meat tossed in a sweet sour orange juice tinged sugar sauce.  Spicy chicken resembles kung pao chicken with touch of by now, over heated limp zucchini, green & red bell pepper, onions, errant blackened red chile pepper in thickened soy sauce.  There is enough food to feed 2 eaters for $11 which is a deal even if the food is schlock.   2+ stars read more

I have been coming to this places for decades. NEVER BEFORE. There's a new woman working here. She's so ugly with people. Her attitude and demeanor does NOT justice to owner of this place. She's rude mean and disrespectful. I was so used to the nice courteous attitude from previous employees. I hope the owner see this and does something about it. I know I WILL NEVER COMING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. The problem is that employees with ugly attitude hurt the business owners. As I walked out the door her behavior was worse than of a street taco stand. They treat people with appreciation and respect, because they own their business in the taco stand and appreciate people who go and spend our hard earned money. Tried to come to this place and try it. Walked it because it said Chinese fast food and i was in a hurry. Only one old lady in front of me so figured since it was basically Panda Express it shouldn't take more than a minute to get my food and bounce. Nope. Not sure exact time it took but i was able to watch a mike trout at bat on my phone, look at every single dish they were serving and she was still being helped. It took so long the cooks in back came out and all made their own plates to eat in front of me and went in the back to eat it. They I got frustrated at that point and just left. It shouldn't take ten minutes to give someone pre made food. I refuse to give a place a one star without trying the food but 3 out of 5 seems fair. When all of my kids (4) lived at home, we'd order four 2 item combos (each comes with rice and noodles-2 different types of chow mein and fried or steamed rice) and it was enough food for all 6 of us and enough leftovers for at least 2 more people. They make packing the sectioned togo containers a skill. The first time I went, I saw how they piled in the rice and noodles and thought, oh...so the items will be smaller, but no, no my friend, not even! They fill the sections and keep adding more. I usually get the same thing half fried rice half chow mein with broccoli beef and ribs in black bean sauce, and it never fails to satisfy. I've never gotten sick from this food, but then again my body is a custom to eating it and I always get the same thing. J&J Wok looked closed at first glance but it was because the thrift store next-door was all burned up and boarded up. I ordered two item orange chicken spicy chicken and chow mein. The spicy chicken has zero spice to it and the chicken taste old and doesn't look very appetizing. The orange chicken was much better must be the number one seller they move it quickly. YELP 100 CHALLENGE REVIEW 2016 --- 30/100 I actually came across this place from my brother in law and his girlfriend who kept talking about how much this loved this place. Of course I was a little hesitant because it looked like no one really goes inside. To my surprise, they have the best orange chicken I ever tasted. Not to mention this place hooks it up. It's okay, more like a lower quality version of Panda Express. Expect oversized portions with a ton of fried rice (with a very small amount of egg and vegetables) and or flavorless chow mein. We were exhausted after a big day of sight seeing and wanted something quick and easy, bingo! Unless we wanted to wait for something to be made, we had to choose from the pre-made selection, no idea what most of it was but we just picked stuff that looked good and went with it. We got a 2 in 1 meal each and we're going to have it again tonight, not that we'll go back there, but the servings are so big we could have just shared one! We got one with noodles, something chicken little spicy with veg and beef with broccoli. The food is your ordinary style Chinese take out that is filled generously and has the typical taste that most mom and pop shops have. Reasons I took out the two stars: B Rating from Health Department is an automatic star removal for me. Not sure what's going on in the kitchen for that to happen. Another star was removed because all the "Sriracha" bottles were filled with some other type of hot sauce that was very watered down and tasted different from Sriracha. Please don't lie to your customers for something that simple. I'd rather know I'm put some other type of hot sauce than be deceived into thinking its Sriracha when it clearly doesn't taste like it. read more

I've been coming here for about two years because my boyfriend introduced me to this place. Last time I came here I was six or seven months pregnant. Don't get me wrong I always loved their food. Perhaps out of the entire time I purchased food; I only had one bad experience. The fried rice had no flavor, absolutely none. But I always kept coming back. So today we decided Chinese food. So we walk over to the dollar tree store for something to drink and then proceeded to get chinese food. It was exactly 11:45am, and it was closed. I was completely shocked because they open at 11. And then I read the sign that was posted. It was closed by the health department because of vermin infestation. This totally ruins everything.
