I am highly critical and have a very high standard when it comes to Asian cuisine, but I can confidently say that Western Wok was fantastic. The lettuce wrap filling was incredibly flavorful--I devoured it all in a matter of five minutes. The fried rice was equally impressive, and I appreciated that the dumplings were perfectly cooked, rather than overcooked and mushy. They certainly don't skimp on the portions either; I have plenty of leftovers for a late-night snack (or breakfast tomorrow). I highly recommend Western Wok if you're craving delicious Asian cuisine, and I look forward to ordering from them again soon! read more

I came here and dined in for lunch. They were quick to take my order and they had lunch specials which included an entree, rice, soup, and an egg roll. I chose orange chicken and egg drop soup. The food was all hot and tasted way better than the fast food places. The staff was attentive. read more

I've been looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant and this place did not disappoint. Every dish pictured are my usual go-to dishes. They were all very flavorful. Very good wor wonton soup and the Thai iced tea was great. Perfect amount of sweetness. Since living in Burbank for the last 25+ years this has been my go to for good chinese food and reasonable prices. The service is great and I love that this is family owned. I love supporting family ran businesses and this is one I will continue to support. It's a small restaurant but it can accommodate quite a few people. So if you want awesome food without getting ripped off, I recommend this place for sure. They also have awesome lunch specials for a great price. The food is good for the area of Burbank and The Valley for the convenience of Chinese Food that's not "Panda Express" or some "Steam Tray" styled place, not that those are bad per se (and we actually do like Panda Express too!) What I like about restaurants like this and Chinese Food is eating "Family Style" where you can order several dishes and share in diverse items among a group. Usually if you order 1 main dish per adult person in the group (i.e., 4 dishes for 4 people) it's pretty safe and if you like leftovers or have heavy eaters, maybe order a different ratio. We ordered Tofu (Mild no spice special order), Noodles Beef Chow Fun), Noodles (Combo Chow Mein), Chicken, Salt and Pepper Pork, Fish fillet and a Combo Meat Dish for 5 people we ordered 6 dishes and Western Wok gives complimentary (Free, i.e., no charge) steamed white rice too. We had leftovers for 2 adult meals (so in other words, we could have fed 7 people instead of 5, easily with the 6 dishes we ordered) The staff is nice. I actually called and was asking how long it took to prepare the food, as I was coming from a great distance about 1 hr away, and the lady told me NOT to order online as sometimes those orders don't get the same immediate attention as just calling in direct on the phone and speaking to them live, an actual human being. :) - - So, the said it takes 15-20 minutes roughly to prepare an order fresh, cooked to order and hot to go. I waited and timed how to pace an order from phone call to pick up and it worked perfectly. Our meal was $100, so the avg cost per person for lunch was $20 and everyone was satisfied and there were leftovers. The only knock I have on this, and I'm used to authentic Cantonese Chinese Cuisine, is the chow mein noodles done crispy was kinda weak, not fresh egg noodles but had some sort of freeze dried noodle stiffness that wasn't great. The food was very fresh. Tastes great, and menu descriptions are spot on. Service was friendly and welcoming, but could use a little work with accuracy. I ordered an entree, and asked for a side of veggie fried rice, which the waitress suggested instead of the white rice. When my food came out, she gave me a side of plain rice and soy sauce, and a FULL side of veggie fried rice. When I said I didn't order the full order, she said "Oh sorry, but you can take for later." With no offer to remove it from my check or take it back. We had a great time today at Western Wok. Total surprise hit--this place is a gem. The food? Delicious. The service? Spot on. And the tea? Oh, that tea deserves its own Yelp page. Best I've had in LA, and I don't say that lightly (I run on tea). The vibe is bright and breezy with pleasant views--no strip mall ambience. The menu is refreshingly focused, like Trader Joe's for Chinese food: just what you need, none of the chaos (sorry, Walmart). Food served cold. Bad customer service and was even told not to bring a child. Our baby was not crying, just playing in his sit and not roaming around. The waitress even smack the sauce on our table and when we called her attention , she pretended it was accident. She cleaned and almost knocked out the plates. Very rude. This restaurant was surprisingly good! They don't have much of a drink selection which isn't helpful when you have kids, but the food was very good. My kiddos loved their orange chicken and chow mein. We enjoyed the yang chow fried rice, hot and sour soup, egg flower soup, teriyaki chicken, shrimp chow mein, har gao, and siu mai! I have been looking for delicious Chinese cuisine for so long and I have not been able to find anything as delicious as this restaurant! I had the orange beef, pork chop salt and pepper, chow mein, Thai fried rice, and pan fried dumplings! Every single item was seasoned perfectly and left my family and myself so satisfied! About 2 weeks ago a worker flagged me down outside of the to leave a bigger tip although I left one at the table for a small check. Extremely unprofessional and rude with mediocre food to top it all off. stay far away from this place if you want to enjoy your food without the maniacal women workers chasing you down the parking lot for not leaving a big enough tip to their liking for no service. Western Wok serves up good Chinese food fast. I'm wondering though if it's under new ownership. I recently ordered online for pick up using their preferred app and a meal that was supposed to cost no more than $20 ended up costing me $34 with the app's convenience fee, an automatic tip etc. That's all new I'm not taking food out anymore (feeling ripped off). I love me some good Chinese food and this place does NOT disappoint. I am so glad that we live close enough to have this delivered because it always arrives quickly and delicious. Our go tos are plain chow mein, egg fried rice, king pow tofu, and vegetable shrimp. Side orders include veggie rolls and cream cheese wontons. Add in extra sides of sweet and sour sauce, hot mustard, and chili sauce. This makes for a great Sunday night dinner. We look forward to ordering here when we can. We've never eaten inside so I can't speak for that, but what I can speak for is their delicious food. You won't be disappointed! read more
