    Portion was small.

Solid 3.5 Stars! Spicy beef salad was fresh with good dressing but had VERY little beef. The Pad Thai noodles were very bland with small pieces of overcooked dry chicken. We added shrimp which was perfectly cooked. Lastly, the chicken wings sauce (sweet sriracha) was very good but there was a gummy breading over the perfectly cooked chicken.

When you're craving Thai food and can't decide where to order from, Chiang Mai Thai Kitchen is a great option offering traditional Northern Thai cuisine . Chiang Mai Thai Kitchen is located in Valley Village at the intersection of Burbank Blvd and Whitsett Ave. If you choose to dine in, they offer free parking in the back. The service here is always friendly and fast. Overall it has been the neighborhood Thai restaurant for years. The best time to eat here has to be during mango season because this is one of the best mango sticky rices in town! They use purple sticky rice which really makes this dish pop. As for food, my other go-to order is deep fried chicken wings. These wings come with either salted garlic sauce or sweet sriracha and both are just as delicious. Before the summer ends, I'm going to make sure to order mango sticky rice otherwise I'll have to wait another year!

No flavor depth: only sweet noodles.

The pad Thai arrived quickly, but only tasted sweet and not savory. They don't have vegan fish sauce. They don't have mushroom sauce so the waitress suggested hot sauce which I added so now it tastes, hot and sweet. Pad Thai is a much more savory sweet dish. Recipe from web: Pad Thai Sauce: 4 tablespoons (60 ml) Thai fish sauce 4 tablespoons (50 g) sugar 3 tablespoons (45 ml) bottled tamarind paste 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lime juice 1 tablespoon (15 ml) unseasoned rice wine vinegar 1 tablespoon sweet paprika, for color (optional) 2 teaspoons chili sauce, such as Sriracha Elsewhere: The bathroom door and light switch could use some cleaning.

I was pleased with Chiang Mai because it's not your regular Thai restaurant. They specialize in Northern Thai cuisine and you will have a different experience here compared to most other Thai restaurants. I got the Khao Soi drumstick soup meal and it was very good. For appetizers we got the chicken wings that were tasty as well. The person I went with got the Pad see ew which was pretty good/standard. I was surprised at how empty it was during the lunch hour when we went. We were the only ones in the restaurant for most of the time we ate. It's a nice vibe in the restaurant and it really makes you feel like you're in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The people that have visited Thailand will understand. Restaurant is on a busy street but there is plenty of parking.

I loved everything about this spot! I came on a Wednesday during lunch (on my 30 break) because I was looking for a specific Thai dish, Khao Soi, and only certain locations have it. Luckily I found this little restaurant near by! The customer service was amazing! I got to speak with one of the employees and she told me this is a northern Thai dish! I ended up getting the Khao Soi with a drumstick. 10/10. Perfect service size for me. It was so delicious.

Amazing Thai food! Everything was packed with authentic flavor, but the tom yum was absolutely fire--in the best way. Perfectly spicy, sour, and aromatic, with a rich broth that really stood out. The dishes were fresh, well-balanced, and cooked just right. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. If you love bold Thai flavors and a great dining experience, this spot is a must-try

Date: November 19, 2024 We were actually looking for another Thai spot that we've been to previous but couldn't remember where it was so while driving around, we saw Chiang Mai and decided to give it a shot. It's a small little restaurant at the corner of Burbank Blvd with a small parking lot in the back. They have one side of the place with sofa and tables and then the other end with tables and chairs. Very cute decor inside. We arrived around 7pm and only one other party was there and finishing up so we were seated immediately. The waitress gave us menus and took our drink order. 1. Crab Fried Rice- hubs really liked this one! The egg on top was amazing and deliciously cooked! Flavor overall was on point and everything blended well together. 2. Pad See Ew Beef- not anything different than any other pad see ew but well flavored. Not too salty or anything. Good portion of beef to noodles. 3. Pad Thai chicken - I really liked this one! Not too peanut buttery and noodles were nice and chewy, just the way I like it. I'm not a fan of green onions so I was glad there was only a spec inside and I didn't have to remove them. Lovely flavor and well cooked! 4. Ton yum soup (medium spice) - spice level wasn't too spicy, however did have a kick! Love the amount of veggies inside and it was the perfect size for a small that paired well with our other dishes. 5. Sticky rice mango- this one was delicious! Love that they have the coconut sauce inside the rice already so it's nice and flavorful. They even put fresh strawberries with the mangoes with was so odd but love the extra contrast! Overall we had a great time dining here. Prices were also very fair and on the lower end. Waitress was super friendly even though we needed a lot of accommodations. Thank you guys so much for the hospitality!! Hope to be back soon!

Food is on point. Lots to choose from. Lang hung lay is pork belly stew. Flavorful and melt in your mouth pork belly. Never had this before anywhere. Tom yum with shrimp, delicious broth with lots of galanga, lime leaves and lemon grass. Just the right amount of sour, salty and fragrance. The papaya salad meets pork jerky, real good combination of comfort food.0

Yes, but it has changed management. They have also changed their phone number and looks like maybe their website too.

I drive past often mostly before 11 which is when they open so I can't stop in, but this time I was able to stop by for a late lunch early dinner which I got to go. Parking is in the back and you can enter through the back door. Staff is so sweet and kind when they take the orders. I got the Kai Soi Noodle Soup because I loved it so much before, and I got a side of rangoon, a side of Roti, and a side of chicken Sa te. The Kai Soi Noodle Soup stayed hot for the drive back home and it is so delicious. I love how it's packed in a bowl with the soup on bottom and the noodles and veggies seperated at the top. The noodles taste incredibly fresh and just amazing. I loved eating the soft flaky roti on the side with the soup. I saved the rangoon and chicken sa te to eat for another meal and they were both delicious, however I felt the chicken was so thin so it was a little dry. Probably next time I should eat that immediately. Dipping it into the peanut sauce of course elevated it and it tasted very flavorful. Overall Dek Sen's is my favorite Thai food place in socal! I can't wait to try more from their menu soon!

Kevin was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the ordering process. He took the time to guide us through the menu and even made sure we didn't over order. Thanks to his recommendations, we had the perfect amount of food for everyone, with just enough leftovers to enjoy later. The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone at our gathering loved it. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service. It's rare to find someone who genuinely wants to make sure your event is successful instead of just selling you more food. I hadn't been here in over 15 years, and it was wonderful to see that both the quality of the food and the outstanding service have remained just as great as I remembered. I recently moved back to the area, and this experience reminded me why I loved this place. We'll definitely be back soon to dine in. Thank you Kevin, for making our gathering so easy and enjoyable!

The Pad Thai was probably my favorite. It was really flavorful and saucy, which is how I like it. The Pad See Ew was also really good and I'd order that again too. The Tom Yum soup tasted good, but I definitely underestimated their spice level lol. The choices were no spice, spicy, or very spicy. I'm usually more of a mild-spice person, but since there wasn't a mild option, I went with spicy thinking it wouldn't be too bad. Nope. It was honestly one of the spiciest things I've ever eaten. I don't even want to know what their very spicy is like. If you actually enjoy spicy food, you'll probably be fine, but I really wish they had a mild option between no spice and spicy. That would probably be my only real complaint. Other than that, everything we ordered was really good and I'd come back to try more of their food.
