I have been here twice probably like 10 years ago and even forgot about it. 2 of my friends and I were looking for a nice place to celebrate Mother's Day, and I came up with the idea to go to Green Apple China Bistro and we all met up over there. Walked in today at 3:45 pm and was greeted by the host name Melody and she took us to our table. A minute later, Luis, our server came to take our order. We ordered 4 items that could have fed an entire Army. It really was a lot of food. Generous portions and still had left overs to take home. We got small orange chicken, which was more like a large size, ($14.49), Chicken Steamed Dumplings ($7.99), Vegetable egg rolls (4) pieces(8.99), and their House Special Fried Rice that came with: chicken, beef, shrimp, eggs, peas, carrots & green onions.(16.99). Luis & Bryan were very nice, pleasant, kind and very attentive. They checked on us like 4 times. Our food came out fast, tasted fresh, hot and delicious. Let me not forget to tell you that the minute you sit down, they bring Complimentary hot Green tea in a teapot. The restaurant along with the restroom were very clean. 10/10. Underground valet parking shared with other businesses; and you can also park on the street and metered parking. Very tasty Chinese restaurant that I travel 17 miles for. My favorites are the Mongolian Beef and Schezwan Chicken entree. Both are very flavorful, juicy and use a lot of veggies and herbs, like white and green onions in the beef and red peppers, onions and mushrooms in the chicken dish. Both meats are very succulent and hit multiple flavor notes. In addition to the 2 entrees, I ordered the hot and sour soup and that one was extremely yummy as well. The portions are very generous and well-priced. The service here is always friendly and while I mostly order to go, I know that they serve you a complimentary pot of green tea before your dine-in meal even starts. And finally, this place is pretty spacious, has over 10 booths and the design is newer and clean. Will definitely be back for more! read more

Three of us adults had dinner at 5:30pm at the Green Apple. The shrimp with lobster sauce, the hot & sour soup, the Chef's French filet with asparagus, & a the fillet of fish with ginger & green onions were all very tasty dishes with both white rice & brown rice. Tea & fortune cookies were also provided. The cost was about $20 for each dish. We appreciated the outstanding service. The bill with a tip was $120. There were lots of food to take home. The facility is clean & simple. I think the best thing about this restaurant is their lunch specials (weekdays before 3pm) where you get soup, salad, & an entree. Ordered : Beef & broccoli 9/10 Kung pao chicken 8/10 Mei Fun Noodles 6/10 Beef and broccoli wasn't chew and had nice flavor to it , would order again! Kung pao chicken was good but could've had more flavor in my opinion . Mei Noodles were disappointing . They did come with shrimp but there was very little flavor on the noodles . Although the atmosphere is a step above a fast-food establishment, the food was rather good. This restaurant was suggested to us by some friends merely because of the eggrolls. The eggrolls were actually very good, but they should be for four dollars apiece, which in order consists of two pieces for eight dollars. We were there for lunch and I started my meal with the egg corn soup. It was surprisingly very good. The salads that come with the meal at lunchtime were extremely tasty and I was very impressed. My main course was the orange chicken, and my wife's dish was beef with broccoli. Both dishes were extremely tasty, but we found the beef to be somewhat tough. I would also like to add this is one of the few Chinese restaurants that we were able to get crispy noodles to put in into our soup. This is usually reserved for New York Chinese restaurants. The Thai tea was good, but nothing over the top. The restaurant was extremely quiet during a lunch hour, and we were able to have good conversation. We were with friends that I had not seen for 57 years and it was a good venue to sit talk and eat. I would come back again, but not make this one of my regular haunts. read more

I like Chinese yet rarely eat out at restaurants. First Chinese restaurant in years, recommended by a friend who dines out more and whose opinion I trust based on years of experience. My family and I have been coming to Green Apple on and off for 15 years and until recently it's always been our number one go to for fresh authentic Chinese in the Valley. In the past the food always had rich and bold flavors, was piping hot and you always left the restaurant feeling satisfied but never too full. Over the last few years whenever family and I go back the food is just kind of "okay" it's still tasty and hot but it's not as bold or flavorful as it used to be. I don't know if it's because they are under new management or because they don't have the same cooks that they did before but all our favorite foods that used to have that singularly unique Green Apple taste now feel rather ordinary and run of the mill. I don't know if we'll be back because it just doesn't have that special taste anymore and makes us hesitant to use the place for our special get togethers and family milestones. This is literally the only place we order from when we want Chinese for dinner. There are a lot of options that I really like. We usually like to order the lemon chicken. Which always has such a nice crunch, and they also serve it with a lemon sauce which you're just going to want to smother it in. The orange chicken had really good taste to it. Filet mignon French style is one of my all time favorites. The garlic brussel sprouts are a must when ordering from there. Last is the Lo Mein. I've been looking for good Chinese food for a while, and I finally found this place on Yelp. The food is absolutely delicious -- not too greasy, and full of great flavor. I love spicy food, so I usually ask for extra spicy garlic sauce, which always makes my night! I usually order takeout, and it's always been great. But last night was disappointing. The woman who looked like the owner was very rude when my husband asked for extra spicy garlic sauce. I had to go ask myself, and she clearly didn't like giving it to me, even when I offered to pay for it. For me, eating chow mein without that spicy garlic sauce is like having peanut butter bread without the peanut butter -- it's just not the same! I was craving Chinese food, and this place kept popping up so I decided to try it. It is connected to a shopping center so there's parking out on the street and also underground. I parked underground. I had called for takeout and when I came I waited a few minutes. The staff was nice and the inside was spacious with a lovely ambiance. It was an early evening so not that many people there but I saw they had a lot of people ordering take out. I ordered the Orange Chicken and Beef Chow Fun with Bean Sauce. Both were good but for me I like my orange chicken to be a little crispier. I've had better Chinese food, but when I'm nearby and craving Chinese food I'm down to try this spot again. read more

Green Apple is tucked away in a small plaza on Ventura. Parking is decent if you are able to get a spot in the small structure or in the lot in the back. You can always park on Ventura but it's a bit competitive out there. Portions are extremely generous. I really liked the honey walnut shrimp. The shrimp are cleaned very well and severed with a generous amount of walnuts. They also have really good fried rice that has a lot of veggies in it. I really enjoy this because chinese spots cook the best veggies IMO. Service is OK. It's not amazing but it's not bad. Sometimes I wanted to have a refill but found myself waiting a bit longer than other spots but I am not going to knock them for this since they only have 2-3 people usually working the front. We placed our order and were pleasantly surprised with how quickly it arrived. We had the Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef, BBQ Pork with Snow Peas, and the Spicy Hot Szechuan Eggplant and added beef to the dish. I think the Eggplant dish was our favorite. The spice level was pretty mild, but the eggplant was so creamy and the added sliced beef went well with this dish. We enjoyed all our choices. We overheard the employees say it was the OWNER! Decided to try this place because I had heard the food was supposed to be good, but we never even got around to it. Did not want to support a place that treats people so awful, any food after that would have left a poor taste. Servings are smaller than average and some dishes were a little greasy but we three ordered enough and left full. Huge menu variety with good hospitable service.
