Situated right under the York River bridge, not far from the Yorktown museum, is the cutest village. I'm sorry, they can't claim it as part of the original Yorktown but it is cute. There is a lovely river walk...hence the name of the restaurant. They have some of the BEST views in the area being right there. We had reservations however it being the busiest day for restaurants, we had to chill our heels for a few moments before being taken back. I was more than ok with this as we ended up getting a window seat (see above for reference). Thank heavens they put the name of the server in the receipt cuz y'all know my Swiss cheese brain. Cara was the wonderful server who took care of us. She was always there ready for me to get my mum good & spoiled. Super friendly and very helpful. The buffet, it was impressive for a buffet and while not a big buffet, it was specialized. First up were 3 different kinds of salads, then a fruit platter, and bagels & cream cheese. They had a raw bar with shrimp & oysters next, then breakfast stuff (eggs, potatoes bacon etc) mac & cheese, garlic mashed taters & then a carving station with turkey, ham & lamb. Finally a small but respectful dessert table. If you couldn't find something to fill you, you weren't looking. The single sour note of the buffet was the salmon and Mac & cheese. I'll know better next time. Overall the River Walk has come back with perfect timing and style. I highly recommend a visit. Parking is a pain but patience will help

The biggest issue was the portion size. The special only came with two tacos, which only contained 6 shrimp in total, which felt a little light for a meal. I was also surprised by the bar. I asked for a mojito and was told that they couldn't make drinks that are not on their menu. Not a deal breaker, but still disappointing because from the looks of it, they had a full-service bar, which I wouldn't think a mojito would be an issue to make. And no, I wasn't asking for a mojito during a busy time when the bartender was slammed. Overall, the food tasted very good and the waterfront location was hard to beat. It was only two small things that kept this from being a 5 star experience, but I absolutely would come back as I enjoyed myself.
