I walked in because i was getting an ice cream cake next door. I'm pretty familiar with filipino cuisine and saw they have halo halo, which is one of my favorite childhood desserts. It was $7.99 and it was delicious! I've never had one with frosted flakes and I was pleasantly surprised. It never got soggy. It's always such a fun dessert to eat. So I regularly come here for the turo-turo (point-point) food (basically means take-out). Always good. My go-to for Pinoy food. The family that owns it are lovely people. Today we came in for pastries and halo-halo (mix-mix). Have had them before and always good. The halo-halo today was a re-imagined version. Still had all the same ingredients - shave ice, milk, ice cream, ube, various fruits, sweet beans, etc). I don't know if how it was served today is how they make it now or just how this young lady makes it. She took her time with it. I wasn't much paying attention to it. But when we got in the car and I really looked at it, there are layers of ube in between layers of shaved ice (see pic). Those layers and the fine texture of the ice - magical!! I normally would have to take this home, dump whole thing in a bowl to mix it all up (just my thing). Not her version. She cracked the code on this one. We slurped it up right there in the car. Ordered food - lumpia, pancit & beef sinigang last minute from this place. Received good service from the friendly staff, even though they were closing & cleaning up. Didn't feel rush or hurried out. Appreciated the fact that they even gave us the remainder of the sinigang soup. The hot soup felt good against our sore throats. I would certainly come back. We've been here three times and all three times were exceptional. The staff behind the counter are always friendly even if it's busy. The food is always top-notch delicious. Hot fresh and very reasonably priced. What's not to like! The favorite here is the honeydew smoothies they are simply out of this world. They taste so fresh and they're so delicious we sometimes order an extra run to split on the wine drive home. Yes we drive 40 minutes to come here it's worth it for the fresh Filipino food. You can tell there's love into the food it's made here because it taste like it's from the heart. Everything is delicious and homemade tasting fresh and yummy. The staff are very friendly as well they took time to answer questions as we've never had this type of cuisine before and boy we are sure glad we tried it everything was delicious from the curries to the lumpia. Olympia are so good that we ordered 50 of them and served them at a party they were gone in a half an hour. There are many things to try there including baked goods it's a full-service grocery store, again the smoothies are delicious especially the honeydew melon, the lumpia are to die for and the prices are very fair. Filipino food in Aurora? This I had to see. The signage outside says Asian Food Mart. I actually came looking for some specific ingredients and left with ready-to-eat food instead. The grocery portion of this shop is small and geared towards Filipino cuisine. I was looking for pa-lo powder, but didn't find any here. They have a bunch of other powders for making Filipino food, though. They also have refrigerated and frozen items, snacks, and the basic sauces, e.g. fish sauce, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, etc. Being a small grocery, prices are slightly higher than the big retail boxes like H-Mart. As for the ready-to-eat food, they are located near the front of the store next to the cash register. There were various unmarked dishes ready-made when I came around lunch time. $3 for small, $6 for medium. I can only assume $9 for large, but I'm not sure. Lumpia (pork egg roll) is $0.40/ea - Crispy and delicious! Pork Adobo - Oily and very tasty. The pork was tender and juicy. Ulam - This eggplant with bitter melon dish was good. read more

Their sign actual says "Asian Food Store", so we weren't sure that we arrived to the right place when we first came here. The store is small, but they offer a good variety of Filipino goods, from rice, to sauces to Filipino desserts and more. They also provide ready-made Filipino dishes. Its small and the interior is not grand, but that's expected for a typical Filipino "sare sare" store. We've been here twice now, when we were craving quick, authentic Filipino food to take home. Again, food is not made to order, but that's fine with us. So far, we've tried their pancit, lumpia, adobo and kare kare with bagoong, which is my favorite. Food is served ala cart, with sizes from small to large. Their food is delicious and always hits the spot. They are in Aurora near the Naperville border, which is very convenient for us. This will be our go-to spot when we are craving quick Filipino food or want to grab some Filipino goodies. read more

This is a small filipino grocery store in a strip mall. The name on the storefront is "Asian Food Mart" and the also seem to be known as J & S Pinoy Oriental Store. They also have a popular take out counter where you can get authentic tasty filipino food. My tita brought me to this place while we were visiting Illinois - she's been feeding us empanadas and lumpia from this place for years. Their empanadas come in beef and chicken and are both very good. The lumpia is also tasty - I miss our homemade version that has shrimp mixed in with the pork but the pork version here is still delicious and the most popular thing at our family dinners. We also loved the puto bumbong and were happy to see that we could grab boy bawang (basically filipino corn nuts with way tastier seasonings - hot garlic, garlic & adobo). read more

We live in Los Angeles and we were in Aurora on vacation visiting family. We discovered J & S Pinoy Oriental Store on the internet and read all the nice reviews. My family decided to visit J&S to buy some Filipino grocery items. We enjoyed our visit to this quaint grocery store. They had all the Filipino staples that you need to cook at home and also have a hot ready to eat food counter with take out offerings. We strolled around the store for snacks and bought Filipino corn nuts, chicharron, sky flakes crackers, shrimp chips, puto, and ube ice cream. From the food counter we had the wonderful chance to try the pancit and lumpia. The staff was absolutely friendly and welcoming. I am glad we found this place and will definitely come back whenever we are in Aurora. read more

You would never expect it from this small grocery store but the Filipino food here is pretty fantastic. It's not easy to find good Filipino food in the area, but the food here is authentic and delicious! They are actually set up for social distancing so you can buy food safely. We are from Elburn,IL next to Aurora. My wife is from the Philippines and we go here about 1 or 2 times a month. The food is great and also to be able to buy the food at their store is great. She feels at home when we come there. With few Filipino places close by, this is a great place. The cooked food is great also. I highly recommend it to anyone. lived in the philippines as a little girl, ex-hubby is fillipino...been eating filipino food all my life. moving to chicago (from california) i find it a LOT harder to find any filipino food. i love going there to get the food i love, sisig, pancit, lechon and all the yummy snacks, etc. ube ice cream, banana ketchup, sunflower crackers, polvorone, etc. this place has a small deli and well-stocked market. they're finally used to this "white girl" coming in all the time to get her grub on. LOL friendly staff, but get there early on the weekends before the titas get all the good stuff!
