Let me start by saying, if you need something from the menswear section, go when Brandon is working. Every suit, tux, and shirt he picked fit me right off the rack. I've never had such a smooth and easy time getting clothes before. He got my size right just from a glance, and his styling was perfect. There are levels of service I've become accustomed to, and Brandon showed me we deserve better. Can't say enough good things about this location. Haven't been back to J.Crew since the store the Grove closed. I love love J.Crew and today was perhaps the best experience I've ever had at your Century City Wakefield J.Crew. Kyle and Ricardo were the best sales people I have ever encountered. Gracious, knowledgeable and diligent I went to the store to buy one pair of pants and left with Two suits an extra pair of pants and three ties. There was no hard or soft sell, they were just unbelievably accommodating. And every time they found a difficult item to locate the response was we're just glad we could make you happy. KELLY was an absolute angel, going as far as to try on shoes for me, as I wanted to buy a pair for my mom who was her same size and couldn't be present. I'm definitely glad I tried on the shoes in-store, as J.Crew's sizing can be fairly inaccurate. I'm regularly an 8 and bought a 6 and a 7. I ended up scoring their "Millie Bow Ankle-Strap Heels in metallic and croc-embossed leather," originally $270, for only $50; their "Pointed Toe Flats in metallic leather," originally $180, for $40; and finally, their "Colette Mule Heels in Italian Specchio Leather," originally $250, for $111. I have found myself at J. Crew (Century City) on more than one occasion in the last few months and my wardrobe and general happiness have been boosted each time. While no clothes horse, or fashion maven, I have consistently discovered a great variety here. Super casual to sporty to business attire, the wares at J. Crew are fun to explore and have made me smile more than once. Often, there are sales of one sort or another, which is always a bonus. While not a super spendy store, it is still possible to damage your wallet. However, the ratio of value to stylish comfort here is casually vigorous and welcome. There's enough here for almost any budget. I have found shirts, shorts, and even a suit. The service has been great, too. Both Nelson and Randi have been incredibly helpful, candid, and friendly. I don't have any pictures of the store as my hands have been busy poking around and trying on clothes. read more

I bought an item here today that was $30 less online. According to the associate I spoke to on the phone, its up to me to know that online prices are not the same as in-store prices. How am I supposed to know all this? Do I work at J Crew? The cashier was not obligated to inform me of this. I called the store after I got home and discovered the mistake. They told me to come back to the store and they would correct the error. hell no. I am not going back TO THE MALL especially at this time of year. I thought I was going to have to throw a fit. Thankfully the person who answered the phone was able to do the adjustment over the phone, thus saving me four hours and an episode. She was standing in the pathway with a steamer and And asked if I needed her to move with which I politely replied yes and she didn't move and rudely was like "well there are cords all over the store". This is the worst j crew and frankly any shopping experience... Staff here are unprofessional and one walked in on me while I was changing. He gave me attitude and said it was my own fault. The dressing room attendant, Daniel, was joking around with his friend who was trying on a suit then put me in my dressing room. Less than five minutes later, he tried to open my door and enter while I was mid dress. No apology. When that happened, I think I heard him laugh and went back to chatting with his coworkers. When I went out to confront them he gave me attitude and blamed me saying he knocked twice. Yes he did. And I responded. But also... that's ridiculous. He tried to open my door while I was unclothed in my dressing room and it's my fault? He wasn't listening for my answer because he was busy chatting and laughing with his two coworkers, one of whom was playing dress up by trying on suits. We asked for contact info for corporate and Daniel's full name and the manager said he would get it but disappeared and didn't come back. It felt like a group of immature young friends given run of a store where they're over staffed and all covering for each other. This j crew location has a lot of associates and staff but only a few are actually working. The others are messing around and completely unprofessional. Don't shop here. If you must buy from crew just purchase online. This place is a mess. And they'll walk in on you while you're changing. read more

This location in particular has amazing customer service! Whether it's online orders, pick ups, exchanges, etc. the staff here really do their best to help you with whatever you need. They are attentive, responsive, they follow up by phone if needed, and have just all around good service. The store itself is large and has good selection of new items and keeps good inventory of the best sellers (long time j crew shopper here). But really the difference maker is the fantastic staff. Horrible customer service! I walked in and not one person greeted me or even made eye contact with me. There were signs everywhere that read "30% off full priced items". I made my way to the dressing room with clothes in hand and an associate passed by me at the entrance and I had to stop her and ask her if it was okay to try things on as she otherwise ignored me. After I settled on a couple of items I went to the register and the associate asked if anyone had helped me to which I said "no". Most stores would apologize, he was more focused on his malfunctioning phone scanner. Then he told me one item did not qualify for the discount. The sign did not state there were exclusions. He pulled out a small paper that he had behind the register that listed nonqualifying items. Clearly misleading advertising. No apology, just dismissiveness. I will never shop here again. read more

On slow days, like TODAY, with few shoppers and a decent handful of staff, no one greets me, no smile even when they run past me, no one asks me if I need help finding something... I am totally going out of my way to write this negative review for this location. First of all, J Crew is my favorite store of all time. 97% of my entire wardrobe is J Crew, my wedding dress is J Crew, my wedding shoes are from J Crew and the jewelry I'm going to wear for my wedding is J Crew. Get the picture? J Crew bridal hands down has the best customer service. Ever. And all of the gazillion other J Crew stores that I have stepped into have extremely friendly, hard working and attentive workers. However for some reason, the Century City workers are literally the worst. First of all, I can't even find where the workers are. Every time that I'm ready to purchase something at the checkout line, there is no one there. Secondly, when I needed help looking at suits, the worker that was helping out was incredibly dumb, inexperienced, lazy and slow. He didn't know what sizes were available and when he went to the back to check for additional sizes, he literally reappeared in like 15 minutes. Thirdly, I mentioned earlier that 97% of my wardrobe is J Crew so the chances that I'm wearing a J Crew outfit the day I walk into a store is very very high. Workers typically flock to me the moment I step into a store. But sadly, when I walk into this particular store location, I don't get greeted. I don't get offered any help. The workers disappear (where do they go off to?). When I need to try on sizes, I literally have to circle the entire store looking for someone to open the dresser room. And then when I'm ready to purchase the item, I need to circle the entire store once more to find a worker to check me out. I honestly think that all the workers here are extremely lazy. I read other reviews on this location and I'm noticing a common theme that these reviewers are all loyal J crew shoppers that are extremely disappointed with the service at this particular location, which absolutely sucks for me because this is the location that is closest to my house. I think that I'm going to call corporate J crew and complain about this store. On a side note, the Madewell sister store at Century City has much better customer service. Whoever hires the employees for Madewell should do the same for Jcrew because clearly, this location is doing something very very wrong. One good thing about this location is that it always, always, always, has additional clearance on their sale section which is why this review gets a 2 star and not a 1. read more

A few years ago, after a slump in sales and various effects on their stock, Gap Inc. fired retail legend Mickey Drexler as their CEO. Mickey moved over to J Crew and revitalized the entire brand. Of course, that also meant jacking up prices astronomically, putting images of dogs on Wellington boots, and making their sales staff work on commission. Anywho... This might well be my least favorite J Crew in California. It's not the product (because it's always awesome preppy/cool with a twist), and it's not the staff (they're pretty much a solid "okay"), it's the goddamn merchandising and layout of the store. It's nearly impossible to navigate, there is no cohesive plan to the sections. It's sort of hard to put your finger on when you're actually there, but go to this location and then pop over to the Grove and check out their J Crew and you will immediately see the difference. It's like two different stores. If you want specific J Crew items, it's a fine store. But if you want to have a fun shopping experience and enjoy a good browse, hit somewhere else. read more

I've been a J crew customer since the mid 90's. I've shopped at their stores from Boston to Santa Barbara and always met with great service. I've been living around Century City for the past 10 years and this was the go to J crew store. However, I try to avoid it because of the consistent bad service. I make the extra effort for the one at The Grove or The 3rd street, and sometimes even SFV. Sometimes due to time constraints I go to the CC store just as I did a few days ago. It's been sometime, but the service hadn't changed. You get the sense of dread and suspicion. The reason for me writing this review, a plain clothed security was following me around the store. If you've been to this store, you'd know this place is a glorified broom closet. Time constraint or no time constraint, never more. read more

I usually steer clear of reviewing large brands, but my experience at this J Crew location was so.... unique, that I thought I'd share. Now, mind you, these employees whose behaviors I found issue with were nice enough to me, personally, and to all of the other potential customers who used the fitting rooms. But I was surprised to find two saleswomen of the three saleswomen in the room acting as if sound did not travel through shuttered doors (and let's not even mention that these aren't even full-length doors) as they went on and on with their inane chitchat. The loud conversation touched on insightful topics such as politics (the more annoying woman lamenting, "I'm sorry to Haiti, but we need to work on our own country") and the obvious inferiority of competing brands ("I love shopping at Banana Republic. Everyone's a size zero there!") All the while not checking in on the patrons. When I first came in to the area, I thought the ladies were fellow customers waiting in line because of the little regard they had for their environment while gossiping all the while-- until one of them unlocked a door for me and seemed to be impatient with my not noticing she had done so. As I was trying on my loot, the prattle went on, with none of them stopping to do any work. Another saleswoman uninvolved in the conversation had to sporadically check in on the few of us there! Which begs the question: why are J Crew's dressing rooms so overstaffed? There were a maximum four people in there, and the store itself seemed slightly understaffed, at least from the looks of the unkempt operation. A note to those chatty saleswomen: folding clothes does not involve your mouth. Carry on with your conversation elsewhere, preferably where customers are not forced in their confinement to listen to you. I did not want to listen in, but the ladies were making a clear effort to be heard over all other noise. Unprofessional, unaccommodating, uncouth. So, it's LA. And there's tons of J Crews out there, for those of you with a hankering for cardigans, espadrilles and all things preppy to shrill. And the saleswomen working that room are not nearly prim and proper enough for these clothes. read more

Always clean, simple, and a fun store to shop in. If you see one section of the store, you've pretty much seen it all. Everything is super cookie-cutter as far as style, but maybe that's its niche. The store is certainly for people more on the preppy side that can afford nice things, while not trying to look too showy. Certainly good for someone who has a "casual" policy at work. As I came up the escalator, the first store I saw was J. Crew. Oh goody! I can use my gift card. As I roamed the store, I grew increasingly depressed. Everything seemed way to expensive. Oh wait, I found my section, aka the "clearance" section. And yesterday featured an additional 30% off. I picked up a pair of green cords and a green change purse. And I still have money left on my gift card! Hurrah! The sales person who showed me to the fitting room waited with me but when an open fitting room didn't open up, she took me to the back fitting rooms where there were plenty of rooms. That's some service! I also liked the fact they asked me if I needed tissue they normally stuff in the bag. I'm glad J. Crew is being more environmentally conscious now. read more

Went with my husband today to buy a light weight suit style jacket for his business trip to Africa. Peter waited on us. He had a great attitude and was very helpful. We ended up buying two jackets, one on sale. Being spring, most of the light weight jackets had just come out but we took one in a dark color. We felt the prices were reasonable and were pleased with what we found. An efficient, successful shopping trip. Although they don't bother mentioning on their website, the store on Santa Monica Blvd is located inside the Century City mall. read more

Came here today to exchange a pair of pants I had bought last week. Of course as I'm tearing the tags off and preparing to wear them I notice there's a loose string in the center part of the thigh area. So immediately I was like crap. Tags are off and I have to return them because if I don't something will eventually snag on to the loose thread and make my pants fall part. So here I am going into the store preparing my story so that they don't think I wore them for a full week and now just want a new pair. I'm sure this goes through other people's mind. Right? Anyways, I go in and DANIEL was so freakin awesome. He immediately helped me look for a new pair so that he could process the exchange. We couldn't find any in my size at the store so he ended up ordering them online for me with free expedited shipping. Of all the J. Crew stores, this is my favorite. Watch out for Lonnie; she can sell you the shirt off your back and always provides wonderful service. J. Crew is my mother ship. The quality, in my opinion, is far better than Banana Republic, and their styles are timeless. I stay away from anything with lobsters and pineapples embroidered on it; go for the cashmere (when on sale) and dresses in the summer. Also, their skirts fit very well and they have stepped up their accessoires and have some fun jewelry. read more

In a nutshell: Pros - The sales associates were friendly and super helpful about checking in on us, getting sizes, finding styles and checking us out of there quickly (with student discount!). Also, the young guy behind the counter kept thinking I was also in college - which definitely lifted my spirits ;). Cons - it's a very small jcrew. Fine if you're already at the mall but the selection is WAY too limited if your intention was to visit jcrew as an actual destination. When I get a jcrew hankering, I'll go to The Grove. read more

I get some of my online purchases delivered here to avoid paying for shipping and it's always been delivered on time and I don't have to worry about someone stealing my package. I've been to this JCrew enough times to know that I have given it enough chances to warrant this bad review. While I love shopping at JCrew and has been a loyal customer for many years, I have yet come across a horrible customer service (at any retail store) as I have encountered many times at this store. Knowing that their motto is to do whatever they can (even out of their way) to satisfy their customers' needs, this JCrew is THE definition of the completely opposite of their motto. Unless you come in here looking like you're ready to drop $1000+ that can help their commission, you will be going on a wild goose chase trying to get anyone to notice you let alone help you find sizes or get you in a fitting room. Bottom line, if you want to find another reason to hate shopping, come to this JCrew and it'll feed you reasons to dislike shopping. read more

If you're like me and you hate shopping, come here and you'll find a reason to hate it more. The air in there is thick with 'tude - I felt like I walked in on a party I wasn't invited to. The store was overstaffed with employees who weren't even pretending to fold clothes; they just stood around talking to each other and avoiding eye contact with customers. The men's section is a little nook in the very back of the store, so it didn't take me long to not find anything I wanted. This was my first J Crew experience, and I doubt I'll be coming back to this location. Considering the frigid atmosphere, I'm betting they probably don't care anyway. I'm a stickler for good customer service, and if you're nice to me, heck, I might just spend $90 on a crappy shirt. I'm still giving it 2 stars since nobody was a blatant a-hole. However when I visited the store on Sunday I had to chase sales associates around the store to help me. I was there Friday night too and the woman who helped me pick out a new leather purse was also fab. It was 7 mins to closing time but she didn't rush me (and I was conscientious of her time too). This has always been my least favorite J. Crew store because of their stock and store layout and overall feel. It has never felt good in there for me for some reason. I don't know if it's because of the size or what. The back area just never feels compelling enough to go through, and it feels like a dead end. A couple weeks ago, I was in the area and decided to pay it a visit as I needed something hemmed. I was assisted by Annamaria, who seemed reluctant to help me. I tried the pants on so she could estimate where she needed to hem. It didn't take that long, but when I was ready, I had to walk out of the dressing room area and interrupt a conversation she was having with another associate. She didn't offer any advice or direction -- i had never had an alteration done at j.crew before. I found myself kind of just guessing what to do next and she would just agree. I asked if they could mail it to me as I lived far away. She said they didn't usually do that (even though their alteration stub pad showed this option), asked a manager and finally agreed. I called 5 days after it was supposed to be shipped as I hadn't received it yet, and the guy on the phone told me that it was there labeled, "To be shipped to customer". The guy told me it would be shipped out the same day, and when I asked how long it would take for me to receive, he assured me I'd receive it in the next day or so. A week later, still nothing. I called again, and this time, a girl named Alicia answered and was able to help me. She was much more helpful than the other two, offering to call me back in the next minute with the tracking number. I received it in the next day or two. In my experience, Alicia was the only good thing about that store. Everything else just cemented my bad impression about it. read more
