I have been to many LA fitnesses in the area, and I would rate this one below average versus the others, particularly the pool area. The water is noticeably more murky, and Y'ALL, last week when I was there doing my lap swim, I spotted a spider that was no joke at least 3 and maybe 4 inches dead at the bottom of the pool just bobbing up and down on the pool floor as people swam by (spine shivers). I appreciate that it has 4 lanes versus the three at the Sachse location, and it seems like the early morning spin instructor on Saturdays is super friendly/ draws a good crowd. When I tried to find a spin bike, many of them in the studio were broken in various ways. It seems like maintenance and cleaning are chief concerns for this location. Temper your expectations about the pool before coming and shower well after. Also watch out for British Swim School which comes in and takes over with lessons during certain hours. read more

They need better training when dealing with over age 60 adults. We are not as technically savvy, and they don't allow options for not using Their app for signing in at the front desk. I communicated to the manager that went on install the app. I had all types of unwanted ads and such popping up on my phone that I could not stop. It also affected other things I had loaded on my phone. I deleted their app from my phone and everything that was an issue stopped. I do not understand why we cannot just show our drivers license and give our member number at the front desk. Disappointing. read more

If you still use the first I phone or iPod then this is the gym for you. if you like filthy pools than sign up. not only is their equipment old but it's outdated, like from the 90's. I love in Rockwall County so this is the most convenient gym location. But I miss the Greenville Avenue location and that's saying something. The vending machine for a water bottle does not work and they do not have a drinking fountain that can fill your bottle like the rest of the world does, even the elem school where I teach has them and that school is 40 years old. Get up to date already. When you are all done you get to get dressed in a locker room with music from the cleaners personal phone competing with the sound from the speakers overhead.....great way to end your work out, said no one ever. read more

This LA fitness is extremely busy! What I like about thos place is that its very big. Even with COVID precautions, there are still many machines that people could use. The staff are very friendly. I was hoping they would be open 24/7 but their hours are limited. Nevertheless it's a solid gym. They have a pool, sauna, hot top, extremely clean locker rooms and cardio rooms. You can also play racquetball. Their membership packages aren't too bad either. My only suggestion is for them to replace some of the old rusty weight machines. I had previously rated this gym higher but it is definitely getting bad. During summer the gym is full of teenagers that leave the weights all over and sit for hours on equipment. There was one young adult that was on a bench press for over an hour half the time he was texting on the phone. If you are a busy professional this is not the gym for you. read more

I saw that this club had one star ratings and a composite of two stars so I thought I would check it out anyway since I have silver sneakers over 65. They would not register me even though it was 1:45 on a Saturday afternoon and the club was empty. After repeated attempts to tell the front desk person that 24 hour fitness had no such policy I left the club even though I told the dude that I recognized now why they were so poorly rated because they have poor customer service. Signed up for a summer membership to work on my swimming. I was able to sign up via email/phone. But when I went to cancel, I was told I had to do that in person. That's all I was told. So, I drove almost 30 min to the club, only to be told that there is only ONE person who can do the cancellations...the operations manager...and she is only there during business hours (Mon thru Fri from 9 A - 5 P). Well, I have a job, too... So, I wasted an hour for nothing. I am going to try to do the mail-in cancellation, but I have a bad feeling I'll follow up in a week only to be told, "We didn't get it." I wasn't told about the cancellation form I can mail in until I went up to the gym in person. If people can sign up without being in person, they should be able to cancel the same way. I will not use them next summer. I will go to a more professional, customer-focused gym that doesn't play these silly games with MY time and MY money. read more

I lived all over the world, I am a white Caucasian lady and their front desk ( black staff) discriminated against me today by not letting me into the gym because my credit card payment wasn't done yesterday for the annual fee! I told them I want to speak with the manager first before I make the payment they said sorry no manager is in today and u r not allowed in because u did not pay the annual fee yesterday! what a horrible excuse! I've been going here for a few months because it's the one nearest to my house, but recently the building stinks as soon as I step in. The cleaning staff needs to be informed that using a dirty mop and likely dirty water to mop the floor defeats the purpose of "cleaning". They are only stinking up the place, which makes it very difficult to exercise! I just don't understand why it is so hard for the men's locker room to smell/be clean? I literally want too gag when I walk in. You literally walk in, and smell mildew and see mold around the toilets and showers. No other la fitness in the metroplex, that I have been too, struggles with this. Ok. So I was super worried because of all the 1 star reviews. I went to take a tour today because it's the closest gym to my house and has a pool. Tyler was super friendly. Took me and my roommate around and showed us every part of the gym even tho we weren't signing up today. Not planning to anyway. It was very clean. There was even a gentlemen cleaning while we were there. I forgot to take pics. I will later this week! I ended up joining in the spot and went swimming for 45 minutes. This location is nice. It's always clean and the machines seem to always be in working order. My only complaint would be the door greeter people rarely greet you. There is no hot tub or sauna so you have to go to other locations for these features. read more

It is a typical gym that is comparable to 24 hour fitness. There is no towel service but I prefer using my own towels. The staff are friendly and helpful. The machines are kept clean. Has a nice selection of classes. Music could be better but that is what headphones are for. Overall a great gym for the price. read more

Beautiful! Clean! Lots of machines. The locker rooms have gorgeous wood lockers, blow dryers for the women, huge handicapped bathroom facilities & shower benches with DME bars. Very nice! We were hesitant to come because we saw other reviews on here with 1-2 stars but when we walked in we were shocked at how great this place is! TRAINING IS A SCAM! Do not waste your money on a company that lies about what's in its contracts and doesn't follow through, then blame previous employees for false promises. That's not a company that operates with integrity or any sort of values. Management is seriously lacking in customer services skills and how to mitigate a situation. Filthy equipment and smelly locker rooms, pushy staff that try to get you to do an "assessment" who will then try to sell you their incompetent and unprofessional personal trainers. Good luck trying to get any of the money back for that crap if you agree to it, took me 3 months. They did a "renovation" a year ago. I'm not impressed at all with this particular gym location. I am a LA Fitness member though I originally started at another club. I feel like there is so much room for improvement that doesn't take a lot to actually execute. I think they could do a better job of keeping their gym clean and orderly. It's not horrible with a capital H but it can definitely get in the way of a workout. The manager supposedly has made efforts to address this during peak hours. We'll see if this actually happens and I can see the difference. I also had several issues with my personal training on the administrative side. It took a looong time to straighten it out and still I did not receive finality until I called customer service which did a great job explaining and ironing things out. I had issues when the manager said he was going to do things that he never did (like calling me back) and I ended up having to be the proactive one and that was extremely frustrating in light of the fact that the issues were a club error not mine. Generally speaking, I think they lack in customer service overall. I'm not saying they suck just that they could be better. I finally bit the personal training bullet though I haven't been satisfied fully with the experience especially since I have an athletic background and tend to think I don't really "need" a trainer and could get it done on my own with free resources. Nevertheless, I was persuaded. The one person I actually liked transferred to another gym and she was great with her training and her direction. She made me feel valued as a member and comfortable with my memberships and add-ons. So now I need to figure out who would be a goof fit trainer wise. The corporate back drop just makes it hard to feel like the trainers really want to develop and build a client base. I wonder like how long is the trainer going to be here or are they even interested in hearing what I want and need out of personal training versus their ideas. They could also use some updates on equipment. I do like that they offer free Saturday boot camps they offer (maybe monthly?) though I have never actually been. I wish they opened their cafe. I don't know if all LA club cafes no longer operate or not. I hope this club improves! Because I want to be happy with my gym. I think they need to be about building relationships. Know my name. Dirty. That sums up most of the problem here. No one cleans or disinfectants anything and there are no wipes available so we can do it ourselves. Never anyone at the front desk after dark and if you find them, they are on their cell, in the back playing basketball or chatting up people trying to workout. I used LA for a little over a year and was overall dissatisfied. The machines (when working) are fine and the facility is average but you are being charged tremendously. The process for cancelling is ridiculous and took me a week to cancel due to staff and other complications. Have been wrongfully charged multiple times without any refund. Will be signing up at Planet Fitness instead as they have a much more affordable price and the staff seems better equipped. read more
