Very spacious, open, airy space conveniently located in Charlotte's South End district. It was fairly quiet for a Saturday at 11:30a. Just two stylists in the shop. My stylist said they're still only half-staffing since Covid and with so many clients working from home, Saturday's are not the super busy days they used to be! So I scheduled a blow-out (wash/blow dry/style) so my hair would look well done for the wedding. Kerry, my stylist, was great. She was honest, straightforward, and tried every which way from Sunday to get my abysmally straight fine hair to do something, anything, other than lay flat on my scalp. Lauren is by far the kindest most transparent and trustworthy stylist I have ever met. From the start she was quick at replying and her communication by far unmatched. I was impressed with her transparency in every aspect. She was honest about both her ability to achieve what I wanted along with her recommendations for me given my current hair health. For Lauren, keeping my hair healthy and reaching my hair goals were at the top of her priority. I never once felt uncomfortable, and the entire appointment felt super personable. She was also super honest about the price and what upkeep would look like- and that is a conversation that can sometimes feel taboo but not with her. She is such an amazing stylist and her ability to make you feel welcomed and clear minded with what to expect is by far the best I've ever experienced. I will most definitely be coming back and I look forward to seeing her as my future stylist because that is just how good she is. The vibes were TOP TIER and I am super happy with how my hair came out! I went in looking for a balayage and wanted to go blonde but after a very thorough consultation with Lauren (with complimentary snacks) we decided on a more brownish look since I had lots of box dye and she don't want to fry my hair. Of course she provided a range of options if I did want to go blonde that same day, such as adding highlights or doing a baby foil (which she was so kind to explain what everything meant and how that would look maintenance wise along with price!). In the end I decided to just follow up later on to go lighter! The whole time she does not at all make you feel pressured or uncomfortable or tries to up-sale anything- she even told me that if I loved it and didn't want to do another appointment that that was totally okay too- there was absolutely no pressure! Paige was very helpful and answered all my questions. I also talked with her about coloring my hair and how we could just touch up my balayage that I already had Today I went in for my hair appointment. Paige absolutely nailed it! The color fix she did to my hair made it seem like we colored my whole head and the color blended so well with what I already had. But I saw Sarah for a cut and balayage (my first!) this week, and I'm so glad I did! I was bored of my medium-length, one-color hair but am pretty low-maintenance (read: lazy) so I wanted a style that I could air-dry most days and that wouldn't get terrible roots as it grew out a bit. Sarah cut my hair so it actually curls better than ever but still looks cute when straightened, and has nice subtle highlights to spice it up a bit (and because it's balayage, roots aren't an issue). I think I've found my new stylist!
