They were done with our duct cleaning in about 2 hours. I requested an additional, same-day service and they were able to accommodate our dryer vent cleaning at the same time. However, the system was not set up correctly from the start. It relied heavily on auxiliary heat during heating and failed to cool properly when tested at the start of summer. When I reached out to Meade's, their technician confirmed that the outdoor unit wasn't operating correctly and that the refrigerant was significantly out of specification. As a result, the system effectively ran in an incorrect configuration for nearly three months during peak winter, leading to significantly higher electricity bills (about 3x normal). Once corrected, the system behavior changed immediately. This was also clearly evidenced through Nest thermostat history, which showed auxiliary heat being used on nearly every heating cycle during that period. I understand that energy usage was higher for many homeowners during the colder months, but in this case the system behavior changed noticeably after the issue was fixed, which points to a setup issue rather than just weather. These were installation-related issues that should have been caught during initial setup. While Meade's was responsive in sending a technician after i reached out to them to get the system checked, there was no acknowledgment of the impact beyond that. Despite the elevated energy costs, no credits or accommodation were offered. Overall, good responsiveness, but disappointing quality control and follow-through after installation.

Cold Comfort was our 3rd company to provide an estimate and to come out to assess my unit, etc. The owner, Gabriel was the reason we made this company our choice. He was down to earth, honest and provided solid reasons why they choose the products they use. Our unit was over 25 years old, had served us well and I was unfamiliar with some of the other brands being offered now. We were a "Carrier" family. They were immediate in responding with a same day appointment for the service call and we were scheduled for installation withon the same week On the day of installation, his amazing team arrived right in time w/ cheer and professionalism. They explained what they were doing and how, lines my floors with cloths and covered their shoes to avoid a major mess, they were efficient and communicated with us throughout the removal and installation process. They cleaned up after themselves leaving us with very little to do other than dust. They showed us how everything worked, how to troubleshoot if need be and how to communicate if there were questions or issues. In total, Cold Comfort replaced the entire HVAC system, our humidifier, thermostat and then several days later, our water heater! Whew!!! Our AC went out a little over a week ago, of course it happened toward the end of the week so it…read morewas Friday afternoon by the time we realized it wasn't something routine maintenance on our side would fix. Jary (who helped us when we first moved in) came out on Tuesday and said we had a leak somewhere since the closed-system unit was totally out of coolant. He came back Weds. to do the leak detection and found the leak, recommended a new coil. We had the new coil installed on Friday; this time it was Ricardo and team that did the work installing the coil. They did a great job and a couple hours later our house was back to normal temperature. Gabriel helped us with all the coordination and estimates and seeing if the part was still under warranty (it wasn't, but I didn't expect it would be honestly.) No one likes spending a bunch of money on repairs but I'm very confident that the recommendations Jary made were sound and correct. He did not attempt to upsell me at all, which is greatly appreciated. (The estimates Gabriel sent did include options for replacing the unit, but that wasn't necessary at this time and there was no pressure to do so.) I will continue to call them if we have issues in future with our HVAC system.
