I brought my car to Glisson's for an oil change a few weeks ago. Yesterday, I was driving (long…read moredistance) and started smelling burning. I pulled into a gas station and found the oil was basically empty. I was surprised, as the oil change was so recent. I inspect further and find the oil filter has a major gash in the corner ... with oil stains around the gash. I add 2 quarts of oil and watch the filter. Sure enough, a drop of oil starts to form on the gash, eventually dripping. My question is: how could this have happened? The gash was way too big and obvious to not be noticed (on the edge where you grip w your hand). Did they knowingly install an obviously damaged oil filter? If so, why?? One theory (and this is only a guess, but I'm otherwise struggling to hypothesize a reason to give Glisson the benefit of the doubt here) -- I remember when I brought my car to them, I was under the weather, so as a courtesy to make sure I didn't spread whatever I had, I wore an N95 mask. The person at the shop looked at me weird like I was their political nemesis, so I explained that I was wearing it bc I was under the weather and didn't want to infect anyone else, but that didn't seem to change their disposition at all. Again, this is just a guess, but I truly cannot fathom why they would have installed a visibly obviously damaged oil filter on my car. (If someone can provide a valid hypothesis, I will delete this review.) Either way, my engine may have extensive damage due to driving without oil to the point it started burning. Arrggghhh.

They lie and said they fix something that they haven't even touched. And I have the fax when they turn my vehicle back over to me, they told me my windshield reservoir Was replaced. I took it to the dealership because I didn't believe them where I bought my car and they said those was the original parts so stay away. They we're always respectful and detailed. If they found issues while I was at home, they would call me, tell me, give me the option if I want them to fix it. My quotes always matched my bill. I tend to ask a lot of questions because that's how I learn. They took me to my car and showed me the issue. Then showed me what it SHOULD look like, no car place ever did that. I had a new found respect for them after they did that. I always do my research no matter what the situation is. That way, I know what to ask and to expect.

When I asked for a breakdown of the bill, he said $200 for labor & $1500 for parts. I then told him that I would need an itemized bill for the parts. He in turn started to say that he does not do that & that I would not get the same price for parts that he does. He proceeded to turn the cost around and say it was for a warranty. I said that I did not opt in for a warranty nor was I offered the option to opt in or out for one. He then said, "Ok, you can buy the parts, and I will charge you $400 in labor." The scam is real. They've been great so far, I've probably been there 4 or 5 times and haven't had a problem so I don't understand the negative reviews. Things went well until I drove away. I think there are new scratches on my rims but I can't prove that so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I should have photographed all four wheels prior to the work. The biggest problem was that the tires were not inflated properly. I got warnings right away that three of the four tires had low pressure. To me this is a very basic requirement when replacing tires. All 4 should be inflated to the proper pressure. I feel like this is a very basic service that they neglected to do.
