The seating area is fairly large and you get an absolutely fantastic view of the Colorado River in Hill Country while sipping your beer or having a meal. We ate fairly light here as we were grazing and snacking all day long as we were out and about in the Austin area. We got chips with salsa and queso and salad to split which was just right for a light snack. I got a really, really good beer which with this and the view earns Oasis a five star score. I got the Coffee Scotch Ale. When I get a Scotch Ale I want it to be boozy and strong and this one definitely hit all of the marks there. Flavor features in this beer are earthiness, sour, coffee, bitter and boozy. That last feature I am really looking for for what I consider to be a good Scotch Ale and indeed this one did. There are a few different holes you can try and some of the concepts were really interesting. One of my favorites was one where it shoots the golf ball up the wall and you watch it come down various ramps and musical instruments. This is a good spot for a date night or fun with friends and family. The mini golf area is smaller than some other mini golf spots I've visited in Houston but it was still a fun time. We finished the whole course in around 20-30 minutes and there wasn't a line. Seems to be a fun spot to visit on a weekend!

My grand baby immediately runs to the arcade games and they had lot's of toddler friendly rides for him which were all around 3 to 4 points. It's a fairly reasonable place to go on hot summer afternoon. The kids spent an hour running around a large playscape. It always makes me pleased to see them come back to the table nice and sweaty for a drink. We got a pizza which wasn't too bad and a hot dog which he ate all of, so it must have been pretty good too. Then they got to play games and win coupons for "prizes". They each went through a $10 "game card" pretty quickly, but got to pick things they wanted. Although this place isn't squeaky clean, the staff were exceptionally nice. It wasn't terribly packed either, which is great for places like this. During the last 45 minutes unfortunately there was one little girl who was able to scream so loud (and frequently) that I jumped almost every time she let out one of her frequent squeals of joy. Can't blame that on anyone but the parents though and it's rare they'd do anything about it at a place like this.

After browsing nearby bars, we saw that W XYX was within walking distance so we decided to give it a try. W XYZ is in the lobby of the Aloft Hotel. The hotel has a contemporary modern feel which is also reflected in the bar. When we first arrived, it wasn't too busy, but it picked up as the night went on. Chris was behind the bar that evening. He provided some good recommendations on cocktails. I was surprised to see the number of cocktails on the menu. I decided to go with the Freshen Up while my friend went with the Thin Mint Cookie. My drink had cucumber syrup in it. I'm a sucker for cucumber so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I didn't care for this drink. It was so mint forward from the creme de mint that it over powered the drink. I felt like I was drinking mouthwash. My friend enjoyed her drink and said it tasted like a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie in a glass. Though I didn't care for my cocktail, it wouldn't stop me from returning to try a different drink. I'll be sure to avoid any cocktails with creme de mint in the future.
