Tom let me know he had a class that started two weeks ago but that I can come participate and watch and can decide if I wanted to join. I came late and I stood behind away from every dog because my dog was very fearful and reactive, barking at everyone. Tom let me start that day and told me I could be continue to come and would be added to the next cohort at the end of the month, he gave me those extra weeks without charging me extra. I have been going every session since 1/8 M-Th and my dog is doing very well she is less reactive and is finding a purpose. She gets excited to go because she puts her collar, leash, and jumps in the car. I also found out a lot of her reactivity and fear was because I was scared and she was feeding from my energy and also that she just wanted to play with the other dogs, I have learned how to read her body language she is progressing very well. He lets you come as many times as you want to his other basic classes to help you master your skills with your dog. The more you go the better and more confident you both become.

I am not writing a review based off my experience of my dog being there, but a review based off of me always passing by and what I see and hear. based on the looks, the dogs are left outdoors. I never see anyone out there with the dogs whether they are giving them attention or training them and when I do see people outside, they're not really doing much. I saw this older white lady training a dog on the obstacle, and she seemed very impatient and yelling at the dog because it wasn't doing it right. From what I see it's usually run by older people and I feel like these older people just might not have the patience or the energy to give these dogs what they need and are just overrun by people who owned the place which are older. Who knows maybe I'm wrong, but I'm just writing a review based off the many times whether morning or night that I walk by this place and the feeling I get when I do.

One downside was that the facility was closed on Easter Sunday. I wish there had been an option to pick him up that day when I returned from my trip. During pickup, my experience at the front desk wasn't great. The staff member was speaking very loudly the entire time (possibly due to the barking in the background), but it came across as dismissive. There wasn't much eye contact or friendliness, which made the interaction feel impersonal. I also would have appreciated a quick update or report on how my dog did during his stay, as that would have added peace of mind. Overall, my dog seemed well cared for, but the customer service and communication could definitely be improved.

BOLT Had extreme leash reactivity , would fence fight with anything that would pass our fence . He was also very anxious and his stress level was always high ...hated bikes and skate boards We were giving up hope that this was going to be the new normal but we didn't want to give up so we called Jacklyn and let's just say the rest was history The amount of progress that bolt made in one week! Showed me that Jaclyn is the real deal! In about 1 week I went from getting constantly pulled on my walks .....to bolt walking right by my side ! Me and wife simply couldn't believe it In a month! We had bolts reactivity reduced dramatically. Dogs can literally be barking at bolt and he can be corrected to ignore them , he can walk by strangers He now tolerates bikes and skate boards His fence fighting has also improved big time Jacklyn will train you for success guaranteed! She will lead you to the water but she cant force you to drink it YOU NEED TO PUT IN THE WORK! Her training methods are practical and fairly easy to understand to take home and work on We put allot of work in with bolt and that's why we got the results we got. We've been going to that other "smart" store for over five years to have our dog's nails trimmed…read more Ever since, they've told us that we can just walk in and they will do the trim. The most we've ever had to wait is about 15 to 20 minutes. Today, was no different, walked in at 10:15a, let them know that we needed a nail trim, the associate said that the earliest they can get us in was not till 12 PM without an appointment. An appointment? I explained to them that in the five years we've been going to them for nail grinds (which is pretty frequent) we've never had to make an appointment. That's when she said that making appointment has always been in place. So, I walked out, came over to The Good Dog. The General Manager greeted us, even while working with another customer. Listening how he handled the other two customers in front of us (who appeared to be regulars) set the tone that this is a friendly place that we want to be a part of. You know, it's like "Cheers," you wanna go where everyone knows your name! Well, they were able to get us in right away. They advised we typically do not need to make an appointment for nail grind, but to simply call up to make sure they are not busy at the moment, otherwise can get in quickly. I think that's reasonable, fair enough AND smart! "Thanks, Good Dog!"

They offered medical wipes for my dog's injury and a complete re-grooming with a different groomer. I chose not to continue patronage, but the offer and continued open communication was very appreciated. Original Review: This is the first time I've been to this location and decided to go here due to the large number of good reviews. They were able to fit my appointment in very last minute, less than 24hrs notice, super friendly staff, and lots of merchandise. Also great cut options avaliable for someone new, trying to figure out what a new groomer can do with a new client. Asked them to brush his teeth and grind his nails, to which they accomplished (at least his breath smells better). With that said, I was told they would contact me 20 minutes before he's ready for pickup, they did not. They messaged me when he was done. No big deal. When I picked him up, immediately noticed the uneven cut job. As we're driving home, noticed A BUNCH of dirt left in his coat. Makes me question if they bathed him, and if they did, they didnt do a good thorough job. Also started to notice the uneven cut throughout his body, from his stomach where they left bunches of fur, to his back, which seemed as though they used two sizes for razors. They cut him (most likely by accident) but just reinforces my suspicion that they rushed through his entire "grooming". For the $100 package, counting $15 for dental/nail grinding, I can't say I'm not disappointed. Unfortunately, will not be coming back. Sincerely disappointed :( I will have to bathe him again, give him a complete haircut, and finish areas they didnt even attempt too, such as the hair under his nose going into his mouth.

I can not express how much of an amazing trainer Ian is!…read more I have a dog, Deku, who had behavioral issues. Deku has been through a previous board and train, but I feel like that board and train mainly tackled his obedience, not his behavior issues. I let Ian know about all of this prior to boarding Deku and he made sure to explain his process with me. He also made me write down goals for Deku so that he can focus on them and make sure he tackled through them. I boarded Deku with Ian for 3 weeks and Ian made sure to send over progress pictures/videos every single day! I appreciated the content of Deku because that is basically my baby lol. There was a mid session where Ian taught me how to properly use the ecollar and showcasing what Deku has been up to the time he was with Ian. Deku was pretty much a different dog by the mid session, so it excited me to have him back after the 3rd week. The day I got Deku back, Ian showed me all of the progress and work Deku did and he was completely different. Deku stopped reacting towards people/other dogs and he was very obedient with following all commands! It's been almost a week now and Ian has checked in on Deku while he's been at home for the week and I also have follow-up sessions included in my service! I have been so happy with Deku is at! Before, I would be too scared to bring Deku out in public due to his reactivity/behavior, but I truly believe he is a completely different dog now, for the better! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Ian to EVERYONE. He is the real deal. I do feel like Ian knows how to connect with these dogs and emphasizes about how important relationships + communicating with your dog. Ian id the BEST!

Ian is an incredible trainer. What really sets him apart is that he focuses on real world training,…read morenot just practicing commands at home but actually working through situations you'll face in everyday life. That made a huge difference for us and for Ponyo. She's an anxious dog, and Ian has been so patient and intentional with her. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with and wants them to succeed in a way that builds confidence, not fear. He doesn't rush the process and really takes the time to understand each dog. We've seen such a big improvement in Ponyo, especially in how she handles situations that used to overwhelm her. We're beyond grateful for Ian and would recommend him to anyone looking for thoughtful, effective, real world training.
