VERY GOOD JP Licks location! The parking nearby is street or lot and is paid, but cheap (about $1 per hour in Newton Center). The ice cream parlor is small but has a few seats and the line was nearly out the door on the first warm day of the year. However, the staff moves quickly and they are so friendly! They also completely hooked us up with so much ice cream, packed a small cup to the top with ice cream- it was practically a medium. Highly recommend and the ice cream is delicious. Can't beat the extensive hours, but the ice cream itself is decent for the premium they charge! We were pleasantly surprised when we called on a Wednesday night asking how late they would be open, midnight during the summer! (After our dismay that Cabots Ice Cream was closed for vacation for the entire week...) They have some unique flavors and the typical toppings but nothing special that keeps me up all night salivating. The location in Newton Center is also very recognizable with their cow print sign. When we have a hankering for something sweet and in the area we will stop by but otherwise there are plenty of other options. Also this is more of a grab and go type place. There's only about 5 stool seating options available and the outdoor bench seating for warmer months. Sad that Sweet Tart FroYo place is now gone so this is basically the only option. Head there on a chilly evening, when you think things might be calm, and you'll find a line of covid-spewing teens going right out the door, each one taking longer than the next to decide which flavor might do the best job of clogging up his or her arteries. To make matters worse, there's another herd of equally inept (auto-fill suggested "infected," which would also be accurate) teens behind the counter, taking their own sweet time to fulfill the orders. If you like deserts you will probably love this place. The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful and gave me samples on request. However the seats are a little uncomfortable and the place feels a bit grimmy. There was some paint peeling off a wall and bits of rust showing. Of course real hipsters will like this "authenticity". They've got some really terrific flavors, but I thought my ice cream was kinda expensive. I'm used to paying high prices based on where I live, but that was the first time I paid over 6 dollars for a cup of ice cream. It was a real turn-off for me. read more

Ordered through Grubhub to delivery several sundaes to our place of work. They arrived in a timely manner but every single order was wrong, there were no toppings including whip cream, and the fudge came in these sad little cups that were not even a third full. To had insult to injury, my coworker pulled a long hair out of his ice cream after eating half of it. Attempted to call the store about a dozen times with no answer even though they were open for another two hours. Contacted Grubhub who weren't much help as they could not reach the store either. They did give some coupons for future orders, but did not receive a refund for the costly order. Everyone was really disappointed! read more
