    Tomato soup
    Nick C.

Nice little deli with daily specials and an every day menu of soups and sandwiches. Ample parking on the side street next to the deli and plenty of seating inside. I had the tomato soup and a chicken salad sandwich and although theres not much to it based on sight, it was delicious. They also serve BBQ daily - and it looked and smelled good - brisket on the day I went. JPs is a good change up from all the chain restaurants in the area.

JP's deli is like walking into the bar where everyone knows your name. The service, the food is top notch.

OK place, I just feel creepy taking the family to an establishment where they employ people on the Pa Meagan's Law list

I typically order the smoked BBQ meat (Brisket, Pork Belly, or smoked turkey) with their delicious garlic slaw, and provolone, yum!

One Star: Mother's Day Mistake…read more We should've taken the hint when every other sit-down restaurant had a waitlist on Mother's Day -- and McAlister's Deli looked like a ghost town. Turns out, we didn't stumble on a hidden gem; we wandered into the culinary equivalent of a trap. The "loaded nachos" were only loaded in the sense that someone accidentally dropped a can of dog food on some stale chips and called it a day. The chili-flavored meat product (and I use that term generously) was clearly reheated -- probably several times -- and tasted like regret. The sandwiches? Let's just say they looked nothing like the pictures, unless the pictures were taken in a parallel universe where ingredients are fresh and sandwiches have dignity. Ours were flat, sad, and suspiciously cold -- kind of like the service. For the price, I expected at least one item to resemble real food. Instead, we paid sit-down prices for drive-thru disappointment. First time here... and definitely the last.

After the entire order was complete, they said they couldn't connect with the restaurant. Somehow they managed to magically put me through to a live person at the restaurant, who was very nice. After going through the entire order again (except for the Cuban sandwich, which the computer told me they didn't have), they asked how I wanted to pay, which I said cash. They said they couldn't do that for a phone order, so I gave up. All in all 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Perhaps they could have said upfront they don't do cash for online orders?

The ambiance was so welcoming and chic; distress wood bins, succulent plant accents, decorative wall stencils. Even though packaging was damaged, or expiration dates were looming, the presentation was on par with a high-end specialty store from the city. The deli section offered an extensive selection of meats and cheeses, plus the prices per sandwich were mind-blowing! I browsed for a time through the isles and noticed the staff was on top of any line that formed in front. We originally went in for sandwiches while passing through town, but then I bought fresh desserts, some baking items and an eye drop brand that usually comes with a hefty price...all for about $10...the hoagies for me and my husband were only $8 for 2!!. They have meats, milk, bread and fresh produce in addition to non-perishables and cleaning supplies. I can't say enough about how neat this little place was. I'll be back!

The prices for grocery items were higher than those at comparable stores, but the hoagie I bought was a great price and tasted fantastic -- crisp veggies, fresh bread, meat and cheese right from the deli counter. I might return to shop the store later, but if you want a simple sub for a good price, this is a good choice.
