For my boyfriend's birthday weekend, I decided to book J Patrick House and Inn. I was really planning on giving this place a 5 star review but after the awful experience here on our last day, I decided to take 2 stars off. Let me start with the positives. Before our arrival we were given a code to enter the living space and our room, so it was very convenient to have such an easy check-in with no hassle. Plus was a warm welcome from Nana, the Inn's pet cat. She was really cute and friendly. The room itself was cozy and patios enough for the two of us. The room was spotless clean and loved how spacious the bathroom was, and how comfortable the bed was as well. As far as the complimentary breakfast we received. It was okay. It was a quiche, yogurt with fruit, a muffin, sausages, and orange juice, on both days. It was left by our door around 9 am the two days we were there. Now, for the negatives. Parking spaces are limited and each room doesn't have a guaranteed parking spot. They have misleading information on their website. If you come back after 8 pm, forget about finding parking there. You will need to park in Cambria Inn, their sister property, and walk up a very dark and dangerous road back up to the Inn, which is unsafe! When I let their Inn know about this parking situation, the night before, I couldn't reach anyone after 8 pm, so I was told to call Cambria Inn. The person who picked up was extremely rude, and told me to park anywhere there was parking, after I explained there were no spots available. Finally we ended up parking at the Cambria Inn. The next day, I let the J. Patrick house know about this parking situation and someone over text got super defensive and was trying to send me screenshots of there being parking, when clearly there was none when we arrived, and kept arguing with me about it, which left a really bad taste in my mouth, and in stress I ended up leaving my super expensive jacket, which I still haven't heard about from the Inn. It's unfortunate that this situation happened because I was really hoping that we would have a better ending to a special weekend! I will not be coming back here again! read more

We usually stay at the Cambria Pines but have always wanted to try the J Patrick house. It was a great stay, contactless check in, great communication, clean well appointed quiet rooms, great breakfast delivered to your room, plus Nana the unofficial greeter. Needed a place to stay and called the same day hoping they might have space midweek. I got lucky and grabbed their last open room! The lady on the phone was super helpful and explained the contactless check in process. I arrived in the evening, parking is behind the main house. There is a code used to get into the building (and a friendly cat that will try to convince you they also are suppose to be in the building!) The sign says please don't let the cat in-- so it stayed out then greeted us again the next morning. The room clean, comfortable and the bedroom door had a security code too! I liked the contactless check in process and the ability to just keep my own schedule. They delivered breakfast the next morning between 8:30-9am in a picnic basket. It was quiet though I could hear the neighbor coughing - and there was a wall heater that worked great though I wasn't initially sure if it was the heater or a fan. The room was warm but got chillier over night- so I used it in the morning. I didn't use the fireplace. The shower and water pressure were lovely. And checkout was a breeze. I will say the cell reception in the area can be challenging so make sure you know your room code. Nice place, liked that it was smaller and quieter. Didn't take pictures but I stayed in the Kerry room which was exactly like the online photos. read more

Be aware that this is no longer a B&B and is contactless which means everything is done by text. Right there the personal touch is gone. No warm or welcoming greeting. No person. C'mon...Covid is over people. Time to get back to actually talking TO a person, not texting AT them. We had a bathroom sink that drained so slow it nearly backed up each time we used it and a TV that wasn't working right and no one came to help us at all. Just sent a text. Really?!? We stayed there 7 years ago and it was awesome because it was owned by people who knew how to treat their guests. Not anymore. Sad. Won't be staying here again. read more

This a spot we have been to each year same room and a great spot. Since our last visit the inn has been sold. Gone are wine and appetizers in the front house with Linda and Ron. Cookies at check in were more dense and adding a TV and fridge in the room not needed. (The fridge while nice to have just does not fit with the room look) The inn now with the same owner as the Cambria Pines ) provided a breakfast with fresh fruit and some type of very earthy bread which sits heavy hopefully day 2 would be better. The location is still quiet but now back house only. Check I. Is by phone no human interaction Room still has fireplace same bed and features Shower/tub is high so if you have mobility limits you may want to be aware No Social interaction may just be a Covid thing. I hope they return a fresh breakfast this unidentifiable bread just did not make it. Breakfast day 2 was a rectangle of eggs with a cup of salsa as a muffin I ate the fresh melon but one bite of the eggs was enough This is no longer a true bed and breakfast you need fresh edible food and bring back appetizers in the afternoon read more

Excellent little place to stay! The made to order breakfast pictures in this Yelp profile though are outdated, as are others you'll find on Travelocity etc. that service no longer is part of this B&B. but they provide instead a picnic basket full of breakfast goodies between 8:30 and 9am. We thought it was delicious and took some pics to share since there aren't any current ones! Only bummer was Sunday breakfast was some kind of banana bread. :( they should just do the quiche and potatoes one both days, because the banana bread was just unappealing. If you arrive late and parking is full, there's a spot to the left of the Burton house sign that they let us use, but be forewarned that parking is limited so come early if you can, or if you're arriving late, text the innkeeper and ask where you can park before they clock out at 8pm. Beds are comfy and room is spacious enough and cozy. The bath is awesome. Walls are thin though, so earplugs help Anyway, Perfect for a relaxing weekend visit to the central coast. read more

I've always wanted to stay here and it didn't disappoint! Everything from check in to check out is contactless. It was very easy and a nice way of doing this. We stayed in the Limerick room. Queen bed and fire place. I felt like I was in a cozy cabin. Everything was clean and comfortable. When you walk in the Inn there are cookies under glass and a cute little room coffee, tea, hot chocolate and other goodies. The bed was very comfortable and nice to have Hulu and Netflix to watch. The fire place was very nice too. You also can use the pool and hot tub at Cambria Pines. In the morning they deliver to your door breakfast goodies. If you have diet restrictions let them know. It was very nice fresh fruit, oat meal, blueberry muffin and juice. They made me an egg dish and sausage because of my diabetes. It was plenty to get the day started. Our stay was quite and peaceful. If you need anything just text them and they reply right away. I recommend staying here. We enjoyed our stay! read more

We booked a very last minute stay here on a whim. We decided we wanted to extend our honeymoon one more night and stop somewhere before heading back to Los Angeles, CA. The process was very easy, though cell signal is spotty in the area so I had a hard time getting enough to make payment and get the instructions to access our room. This place is located in a residential area and it's parking area is nestled behind a front house which I think maybe houses an innkeeper or something. We were a bit confused once we checked in, because we couldn't figure out which room was ours. We luckily found another couple that had a similar problem and asked us if there was a name on our reservation...we were in the Dublin room, which was easily accessible downstairs. We wandered the property a bit and there were some cute sitting areas around the property. There's no check in person, you just get specific codes for the entrance doors and for your room. There's a little area in the front with board games, coffee, water, and snacks. The room was a bit underwhelming. It was quaint, but had this really ugly drop ceiling that has stains on it that made the room feel more cramped. It did have little things like a wardrobe, electric fireplace, small bistro table, and a fridge. The bathroom was right off the room and a bit on the smaller slide as well, but had a nice big shower. The towels were a bit scratchy. They did offer a mini bottle of complimentary wine that was good, but some chocolate chip cookies that were hard as rocks. The walls seemed very thin and creaky. I could hear a lot of noises as people moved around and went in and out of their rooms. I had a very difficult time sleeping. The tv was equipped with streaming services so I tried to put on something to distract from the noise. Breakfast was left in a picnic basket outside our door in the morning. Fresh orange juice and an egg frittata...unfortunately, my husband doesn't like eggs so he didn't really eat much of the meal. I'm not sure I would stay again, but it was doable for one night we got lots of text updates / reminders and things so even though there wasn't a person on site, we mostly felt like we knew what to do and expect. read more

I received a welcoming text a day before I made a reservation 9 months earlier without a reminder email, so I had to pay over 400.00 for a room than had faulty electric outlets, so we couldn't charge our phones, flickering lamps, very difficult tv to manage, no soap in the bathroom and a box spring that was not covered so we could see it. Ive never had an experience like that in a room that expensive. They offered to send someone to drop soap etc. It was the worst room we've stayed and the most expensive. This was a first time visit. I intended to come to JPH last year but that never happened. I've been coming to Cambria for decades and am always surprised what I discover. A real gem on the coast and the Patrick house provided a perfect quiet hidden getaway to refresh the mind. The atmosphere was like going home and seeing fresh chocolate chip cookies waiting for you. A spacious clean room with a nice size refrigerator with chilled water. A coffee maker, a big screen tv and best of all a comfortable bed facing a fireplace. Life couldn't get any better. The morning charm came with a basket filled with quiche, muffins, orange juice and a great yogurt cup filled with fresh strawberries and blueberries. We were very pleased with our stay too bad we couldn't stay longer. But...we will definitely be back and enjoy this charming gem. Can't say enough the little snacks area even had my favorite microwave Popcorn! Our stay was truly an awesome getaway that refreshed our batteries. We picked this Inn due to its proximity to Hearst Castle and the charming photos online. The price was reasonable and the booking process easy. They also accommodate folks who have dietary restrictions (as we learned by speaking to another guest who was vegan). You can request a hot breakfast at the hotel across the street, or get a basket breakfast delivered to your door in the morning. Parking was easy, as was check in. And, yummy chocolate cookies were waiting for us when we arrived. What we didn't fully realize when booking is that this is actually two buildings on one property. The building closest to the street is the smaller Inn. The 1st floor of the Inn has two seating areas, an eating area, and a (closed to guests) kitchen. Upstairs, the Cork room is to the right, and the Belfast room is to the left. The Corks' bathroom separates the two rooms. The common spaces are below the bedrooms. The other guest rooms are located in the second building. The bedroom was charming, had a nice bathroom, smart TV, refrigerator, and a comfy bed. As we were about to unpack our luggage, we noticed a very loud mechanical, bass-y noise right above the bed. A latched door in the ceiling directly above the bed hid a tankless water heater. The heater would kick on randomly (not just with water use) and make a very loud noise, similar to low bass-y distortion. My partner, who is a heavy sleeper, looked at me and said "that's gonna be a problem". We texted for assistance, since there is no manager on-site. They replied quickly and sent maintenance staff to investigate. We were told this was "normal", and that no one else had complained about it. (FWIW, our home's tankless makes very little, if any, noise so this is not normal in our experience). We asked to be switched to a different room, but they had no vacancy. We were offered a room at a hotel across the street instead. We asked if we could view the room before agreeing to switch, and were told no. We asked if it had hardwood floors like our original room (due to allergies) and we were told it did (but, as we later discovered, it did not). We asked if we could have some time to discuss it over a much needed meal (we had been in the car for 5 hrs and hadn't eaten all day). We were told the Inn's online agent would be off work soon and unable to assist us. We then got a text message saying the door code to our current room would expire in 90 minutes, and that we had been booked at the hotel across the street. We didn't agree to this and felt like we were being forced out of our room. We were tired, hungry and frustrated. So, we reluctantly agreed to give up our room for the hotel across the street so we could get food before everything in town closed. While we appreciate the effort to re-room us, the second hotel was nothing like the Inn we had booked at. The other hotel was incredibly outdated, had worn casino style carpet, zero charm, very uncomfortable bed and sofa, small non-smart TV, stale air, etc. When we saw the room, our hearts sank. This was supposed to be a romantic get away for my partner's 50th birthday and this was just not what we wanted. We discussed it, and decided to skip our plans to visit Hearst Castle and just drive the additional 4 hours home that same night - arriving home at 1am. Obviously, we were disappointed in having to do 9 hours of driving in one day and skip Hearst Castle. But, the thing that really rubbed us the wrong way was when we brought the Inn's attention to this very loud noise, we were basically dismissed when they said "no one else had complained" and it was "normal". We also felt rushed and pushed into accepting another accommodation we didn't have the time to properly discuss. At no point was there any kind of an acknowledgement that the noise was loud and would prevent someone from getting restful sleep, no apology for the inconvenience, nothing. While making that small gesture wouldn't have ultimately changed the outcome for us, it would have made the customer experience less frustrating. I think if we had a different room, the experience would have been significantly better. read more

Amazing B&B. The owners were delightful, and friendly. Our room (the Gallery?) was small but adequate with a fireplace and decent sized bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and the room was quite. Walls are thin- you can totally hear your neighbors talking- and there is no TV on the property. Outside has a nice sitting area with lounge chairs. Breakfast is delicious and created/made and served with great pride. Happy hour has delicious snacks that are also made by the inn keepers- and served with your choice of wines. The decorations on the room and common parts of the inn are very nice. It's a very tranquil weekend get away! read more

I'm giving five stars because it was everything we wanted on this trip. It was our 15th wedding anniversary and we wanted to be left alone. The place is immaculately clean and they absolutely left us alone. That said, it's a peculiar place in that you will not have any human interaction of any kind with the staff or other guests. When you arrive, you will receive a text with a code for the lock on the building and your room. There is no check in at a desk. They provide a breakfast but they leave it in a picnic basket outside your door. There is no dining room with breakfast. There is a small room with individual coffee making machine and a microwave in this small room. Management does respond by text to questions that you text them. They will help you find local places to eat, etc. But you will not interact with another human face to face at any time. Again, though it was perfect for us, it's kind of like being under quarantine. In fact, it's like covid is still a thing. I never saw anyone from management or staff. If you're looking for a typical bed and breakfast where you dine with other guests at a table or enjoy the social aspects, this is not the place for you. Really cute place! Great location to shops. Literally a few minutes away. The Cambria nursery is walking distance up the road and might be the nicest nursery I've vet been to! Our room was very comfy. The bathroom is nice, updated, and the water pressure and temp are great. Cute fireplace in room and quint outdoor space as well if you wanna just relax. Overall it was quiet most of the time. Sometimes you could hear people in other rooms, and footsteps but nothing that phased us too much. Communication with the staff is all via email and text. Super fast responses with any questions and a very easy streamlined process. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was nothing amazing. Kinda odd meals that just didn't strike a chord. Still edible and not terrible but not memorable. Over it's a lovely place that is definitely stay at again! read more

Linda and Ron sure know how to run a bed and breakfast. We've been to our fair share of B&B's and this one takes the cake! They are incredibly sensitive to any accommodations you may need (dietary and otherwise). Even with happy hour, Linda made a point to put out dishes that would suit everyone present--low carb, vegetarian, not-spicy, you name it! There are many B&B's nowadays that do a happy hour, but never one that has executed it as well as I feel they have. Everyone actually comes and everyone actually socializes! They've curated an atmosphere that really works and isn't awkward or forced. The property itself is lovely and the decor is homey and classy. Our room had a fireplace, which was just so cozy! They even set out board games, cookies, candy and hot beverages for you to help yourself with! Breakfast was an absolute treat--they should run a restaurant with how well they cook. We were started with blueberries with a fruit dressing (unbelievably good) and homemade granola. Then we had huevos rancheros--the best I've had. Truly phenomenal. This company should work on their customer service and communication skills. I believe it should be made clear that they do not book reservations through Agoda. They will canceled your reservation and you will NOT be notified of the cancellation. You will be left last minute scrambling for somewhere to stay and the prices will be extremely high because of the last minute booking. There is also no number to call and directly contact to get the issue handled directly. The only available service is a texting line. I believe this was unprofessionally handled and the company should work to improve their communication with their customers. I will not be booking through this company again I am extremely disappointed. read more

Perfect little spot a specially for the Christmas Market. you don't have to take a shuttle from town, you just walk across the street. When you 1st walk in there I'd a cozy room you can sit have coffee, hot choc, tea, or oat meal. they supply board games and blankets for extra homeless. The rooms are set up for only 2people and you never have to leave. They will deliver breakfast, lunch and dinner to you. There is a nice size refrigerator with a bottle of Martinelli's cinder and a carafe of ice cold water in it and of coarse coffee or tea is available. The shower was big enough for someone with disabilities and very clean. Check-in and out was all done by text. So easy. I will definitely be staying here again, I almost forgot But there are always fresh back cookies in the hallway. Yummy read more

I rarely give 5 stars but J Patrick deserves 4.5+. The facility is very well kept and had everything one would ever need. There's a fridge and freezer in the room. Excellent shower with very hot water. Breakfast was good and I've included a photo so you can see (quiche, 3 link sausages, yogurt and fruit, OJ and a muffin). The breakfast is delivered to your door between 8:30 and 9AM. There's a Keurig in the room with both regular and decaf. In the lobby room, there's more coffees, teas, cocoa even some packs of oatmeal and popcorn bags (which we really enjoyed as we played games with our adult children). Parking was easy and it's a quick 3 minute drive to the center of town.They don't have on premise staff (which we actually liked) so make sure they have your cell number to text the codes and info. That was the only slightly confusing part but we managed just fine. There is a pool and hot tub at their (larger) sister hotel just down the road but we didn't use. Well done. Very cute place. Grounds were rustic and lit very nice. Best of all worlds. Located in the trees, close to town and to the beach. Room was a nice size with a nice private bathroom. Whole place was decorated very cute. A bottle of Wine was left in our room to greet us upon arrival. Cookies were left on our door when we arrived back from our evening out. Hot breakfast was left in a very cute tote at our door in the morning. Our only negative is that the bed was not as comfortable as We had hoped and I needed another pillow. Cute little place with great breakfast. We stayed for one night on our way down the coast and appreciated the kind service and self check-in. Our room, called the Donegal, was charming with a cozy working fireplace. The bathroom seemed recently remodeled, and the shower had perfect water pressure. However, we could also clearly hear conversations happening in an adjacent room, which made it harder to fall asleep. Quiche, breakfast sausage, a parfait, orange juice, and fresh banana bread for breakfast -- delivered around 8:40 AM and a really delicious little spread. I was so happy with my stay. The Inn was so lovely and charming! There's an area downstairs for the little things that just add such a nice touch - coffee and tea, microwave and cookies. The room was beautiful and super clean - something high on my priorities. Everything about this place was PERFECT, plus I love the small size of the Inn (so it was quiet and felt very private), and we both loved the breakfast in the morning (very nicely done). I'm going with 5 stars. Think it's closer to 4.5 but I like to round up. It's a very quaint place with quaint (small) rooms but they do have everything you need including a very nice fireplace. I think the experience would be improved if you could have breakfast served in a common area but during Covid-19 they deliver a nice breakfast picnic basket to your door around 8:30. They have in room coffee and plenty more in the mini lobby area along with teas, apple cider and hot chocolate. Very very cozy place at reasonable rates. Plan to return for a winter stay so I can use the fireplace. The property manager was very responsive and accommodating. We had a very nice stay. read more

From the reservation to our arrival, they were very communicative through text messages. This was my first experience with "contact-less" reservations and arrivals. Plus, our first stay at a b&b. It was a cold day the day we arrived, and the room was warm and cozy, our wine and cookies were waiting for us. For the first night's meal we ventured out for Italian at Meccos, then watch a movie and snuggled into the canopy bed. The next morning our breakfast basket was served to the door. We open the door to find our basket waiting for us. We received hot spinach and egg bake, about 2" high, with salsa, sausage links, tater tots, chocolate chip muffin, and huge cup of mixed fruit. The fresh orange juice in a carafe was so enjoyable. The coffee was hot by going to the front room and brewing it ourself. I don't drink coffee, only tea, and they had a new tea concept I've was never introduced to before. (Tea Sticks) Where have I been?! So we ventured out to the coast after breakfast, and took a long walk in the reserve. What a sight and so relaxing. Came back to town for minestrone soup for lunch, strolled the shops, helped a local group by donating to their cause, and enjoyed some candy at the local sweet shop for Valentine's. For dinner, we got the dinner package. We arrived on time by walking down the street to the lodge, and was greeted by a wonderful host and live music. Dinner was delicious! We chose the scallops, and the salmon meals. Yum!! We also chose the house red wine. I forgot that we enjoyed the calamari steak slices as an appetizer! Afterwards we walked back to the room, bring a flashlight with you. The stars were so bright and the night sky was so perfect. When we arrived back to our room, we had more cookies and bottle water waiting for us at the door. We enjoyed the movie we chose that evening and fell asleep. The next morning we were welcomed to another breakfast basket. This time we had scrambled eggs and cheese, French toast, honey, tator tots, sausage links, fruit, and orange juice. We were so full!! Hubby booked two nights at JPH for our getaway after reading the good reviews online. We arrived a little after the 3pm check-in time and were greeted by Linda in the office, who was bustling about in the kitchen in preparation for the evening social hour. We were given our key and Linda showed us to our room. She invited us to the social hour for wine and hors d'oeuvres from 5:30 - 6:30pm for all guests. The rooms at JPH were just recently remodeled in April. The place is cozy and homey looking both on the outside and inside. The rooms have a fresh coat of paint with pretty decorative accents that Linda has collected throughout her travels. The bathrooms are completely new. JPH has a total of 7 guest rooms, 3 on the bottom floor and an additional 4 upstairs. Each room has its own private bathroom. The room we stayed in, the Dublin, was downstairs and away from the other 2 rooms that were on the bottom floor. Our room had a king sized bed, nightstands, chest, cabinet, electric fireplace, wall hooks, a small bench/stool. There isn't a TV but they do offer FREE Wi-Fi with great connectivity. We didn't mind not having a TV, we just watched Netflix on our iPad one evening. After quickly freshening up, we decided to check out their happy hour and were greeted by Linda and some of her local friends. They were such good company! We were treated to wine and yummy appetizers; tomato mozzarella bites, little tortellini bites (I think) plus an assortment of cheese and crackers. My favorite part had to be the milk and cookies that Linda leaves in the sitting room in the evening. What a kind and homey sort of gesture! And those cookies are amazing, I looked forwarded to the next evening just because of that! One thing to note is that Cambria is pretty mild weather, it doesn't get very warm there, even in the summer. But this weekend, it was humid due to some rain. Opening the window did not help much. I would suggest stashing a tower fan in the room for guests to use since there is no air conditioning, or possibly putting in a pretty ceiling fan. There is a heater, but we obviously did not need that. A fan would have been glorious. I slept soundly through the night but hubby did notice some snoring from the above room and, obviously, the sound of the rain with the window open. There was also a neighbor's dog that barked a bit in the early morning. I'm not trying to be nit-picky but want to be thorough. Keeping the window closed would solve most of these problems. Breakfast is provided at JPH and is a MUST when you stay here. Our first morning here, we were treated to fruit salad and the most AMAZING stuffed French toast I've ever had. With a side of breakfast sausage, it was all delicious and wholesome and so satisfying! There was also juice, coffees and teas. The next morning we had an equally delicious breakfast; grape salad and a huge frittata with sliced sausages on the side. It was so delicious and so filling! The grounds are well-kept and pretty. There are a couple of small decorative fountains that offering a soothing sound of running water out in the yard. There is parking right in front of the house and a couple up by the office. Overall, we had a lovely 2 nights at JPH. It's quiet and quaint. The neighborhood is scenic if you like morning walks. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Quiet and comfortable. Had stayed here a few years ago. Downside now is the 'contactless' experience which takes away from the B&B aspect of it and makes it more of a hotel. You never see or talk to any staff. No breakfast offered and served in a dining area. You get something dropped off at your room to eat in your room or you can take it to a dining area. In our previous stay there was opportunity to interact with staff and guests. Only contact with staff was through text messages which was so impersonal. If you are just looking for a room and somewhere quiet - away from town - this is a good option. Not a true B&B experience. read more

Yes this place is quaint and cute but truly more like a cabin experience than a bnb. Reasonable rates for what you get but don't expect a bnb experience anymore. This is not the same place as it was with the different owners a few years ago. It is owned by Cambria pines lodge across the street. The same breakfast picnic basket was delivered each morning. No variation and pretty basic. Quiche, 3 sausages, juice and yogurt. Not very hot either though there is a microwave downstairs. The room and house are very cold in January. Space heater helps and the bed was plenty warm and comfortable. In general, the atmosphere of the place without owners present is cold. Leather couches downstairs make it uncomfortable to sit and enjoy the home. Minimal lighting too. The off site staff were very responsive to our text requests for more towels and blankets. Just know this is a 3 star stay for lack of amenities. I believe it got 4-5 start years ago when there was a chef here and the food and owners made a name for themselves. Ratings stay with a business even after there is a change in ownership so be aware. read more

In LOVE with this B&B! Planning on staying here every time we're in the area! Super clean and cozy. The bed was so comfortable! We arrived to a bottle of cider and cookies! Miss the ole J Patrick House when it was privately owned and served a wonderuful bfast around the dining room. Now you get a bfast in a picnic basket - VERY uninspiring- sausages, small piece of quiche, dry small muffin and a small vanilla yogurt with a few berries. When we complained there was no vegetarian option - they offered a complimentary buffet bfast at their lodge (why dont they offer everyone the buffet). Plus there is no one to greet you its all done with codes on the doors - and no more happy hour treats . A very different JPatrick Inn like we experienced 10 years ago. read more

This was my first experience at a B&B and I can safely say it won't be my last, thanks to the J Patrick House. Everything about this sweet little home was magnificent. It's charming and clean, with sweet details my husband and I loved. Warm cookies at night, delicious happy hour and breakfast... it was all a dream. I just wish we stayed longer. Nice place, nice rooms, remote in every way. Perfect if you wish for privacy. Staff is very fast to reply to texts but is not typically seen. Breakfast is delivered and is nice, but the little table isn't big enough to enjoy it comfortably. Downtown although nearby is not really accessible on foot. the road down is windy, narrow, with no shoulder or sidewalk, and unsafe for pedestrians. Stairs down from the Cambria Pines lodge are steep and not lighted, so not safe either. Overall nice place but has its pros and cons. read more

Sadly, Ron and Linda have sold out to a conglomerate and so much has changed, not for the better. This used to be a 5-star venue where we stayed several times! Prices are now higher, the wine and cheese evening event is gone, the food is no longer special and there is no one on-site to check you in, answer questions, give you restaurant and adventure recommendations, etc. After reading the other recent reviews, we chose to cancel our reservation. read more

I will add to the amazing reviews. Beautiful, quaint, quiet. Make a coffee to go and visit the nursery at the end of the street. We spent an hour just strolling through the gardens and gift shops. But, since this review is about J Patrick House, let me also say the breakfast of fresh fruit, sausage, french toast bake and fresh squeezed O.J. was outstanding. We can't wait to return when they start up the evening wine hour again. What a great idea! read more

I cannot say enough great things about this place. My husband and I have never been to a B&B, and this place exceeded our expectations! Everything from the gorgeous decor on the outside of the house, to the welcoming hallways filled with extra blankets, board games, and books for entertainment. Every night there was a fresh batch of baked cookies in the common room. They truly do care about making you feel at home. Thank you for the wonderful experience, we will surely be back read more

I've been to quite a few B&B's over the years, and I think this was the best experience yet! Linda and Ron were warm and welcoming. The grounds were charming and lovely, the Limerick room was brilliantly decorated. Attention to detail was everywhere to be seen. The social hour with the hosts and other guests featured wine, cheese, and homemade hors d'oeuvres, and the conversation was great fun. Breakfast was homemeade by Linda, and over the top fabuous. All in all, a great experience! We'll be back! read more

5Star + first time to Cambria and first B&B. What a great experience! Greeted by Linda with a quick tour and great information about the town. We checked in shortly after Happy Hour and once our luggage was in our room we joined the guests at Happy Hour. The wine was great and the appetizers were perfect. I told Linda I was looking forward to breakfast as her reviews were very good :) she did not disappoint. And did I mention every room has a fireplace, perfect ! Walking distance to a lounge with live music, great getaway. We will be back. read more
