JT's was at the top of the list of our favorite places to eat on our recent vacation to Cape Cod. We ate there three times. Nice to have a choice of eating inside or out. Ya gotta love cape cod for having basically the same menu at every single seafood place they have---fried clam strips, friend clam belly, fried oysters, fried shrimp....the list goes on and on ha At least here I felt we got way more food for what we paid than other seafood spots around. Plus the way to go here to is to get one of their specials of the day because we got a pretty good fish cake sandwich that was pretty big with coleslaw for $6.99. That is a steal in this area!! And they say you can't eat cheaply on the cape ha ha But I wasn't a fan of their coleslaw too much, but oh well, I guess it is just slaw? Almost too much for me, but at least our server was super nice and recommended putting honey mustard on our clam strips and she was right. That did taste pretty good! I like JT's for their ice cream. They have soft serve and hard and their prices for ice cream are the lowest in the area. Prices for everything else? I've experienced WAY better. JT's is overpriced and mediocre at best. Ordered the lobster salad at lunch one Sunday afternoon recently and feel completely unsatisfied and ripped off. The salad is "traditional garden salad". I don't know who said that ICEBERG lettuce is traditional, and if that is tradition, they need to get out of 1982. The lobster meat was a joke. About 1/8 of a cup of lobster meat plopped on top of iceberg lettuce, two cucumber slices and two grape tomatoes do not a salad make. WAKE UP JT's! It's the 21st century. A salad consists of, at the very least, Romaine lettuce...and heck, maybe toss in some baby spinach for a change?! GET WITH THE PROGRAM. For $23, I was left with a very, very poor taste in my mouth and a grumbling in my stomach since I wasn't about to toss that unhealthy iceberg lettuce into my system. Really, JT's? For the inexpensive lobster season this year, I could have purchased 4 live & kicking lobsters and boiled them up myself for that price. JT's is the home of the world's best onion rings. They were perfectly cut, thin but not too thin while still maintaining their onion-y shape. Perfectly breaded, fried, and crispy. The hot lobster roll is also to die for. The roll was overstuffed with huge chunks of lobster meat. The lobster was perfectly cooked, with a huge portion of butter to dip the sandwich in on the side. There is little to no ambience here. Outside there are picnic tables along the parking lot, and inside are tables that look very 1970's. But none of that matters because the food is just ridiculous. Scallop roll served on a hot dog roll was tasty and had a clean fresh fry to it. Comes with small bag of cape cod chips and nothing else, no fries, for $15. Not terrible. My girlfriend's lobster roll was tasty but served bare and was extremely small. Comes with no fries or o-rings or anything, but a cup of drawn butter on side and small bag o chips; for $20. I was torn between 4 stars and 5 but decided, what the heck. They have good food. The ordering process might be a little different than most are used to, but it's laid back like your vacation should be. We dealt. You head to the front, wait on line (usually out the door at dinner). The wait wasn't actually that bad. Get to register, order and pay (CCs accepted), and get a number. Chill at table and wait for some lost soul to wander about the place with a giant tray of food and hope they don't trip over the line of waiting people. :) Wife had lobster roll that she described as very good. Lots of fried options (which seems typical for seafood spots of the like). Steamed lobster platters available with no call ahead. I had the clam chowder and it was excellent. Kids had fried fish and had no complaints. Beer and wine available by the indy bottle. Indoor and outdoor seating. Would certainly visit here again. This year was our first stop at JT's, and we'll definitely be back! Finding a hot lobster roll on the Cape isn't as easy as finding the cold lobster rolls, so I was happy to learn that JT's offers both. I opted for the hot lobster roll which was delicious and came with a good amount of meat. We also got the clam chowder and fried scallop platter. The chowder is easily one of the best clam chowders I've ever had! It wasn't too "clammy" even though there is a generous amount of clams in it. The scallops were equally as surprising, with a lot of great flavor in the batter. Later in the evening we returned to JT's for some ice cream of which they have a good selection of hard and soft-serve options. Great place if you are craving fresh fried seafood. We tried native fried clams and the scallops. Try the clam roll if you are looking for something a little smaller. It is basically the fried clams in a toasted sub roll served with coleslaw. The homemade onion rings are also delicious. There is also an ice cream shop connected to the restaurant so you can finish of your meal with soft serve. read more

Stopped in for a small soft serve cone and it was terrible. Probably the worst cone i have ever had. Ice cream was very soft with absolutely no flavor and the cone was extremely soggy. Very expensive for what I got. Was charged the same for a soft serve as their hard ice cream cones. I really love side of the road, New England fried seafood places... JT's is wonderful. Its one step up from most places because it's cleaner and has more variety in menu... but that's not why I love it. I love it because the food is amazing! I know a good lobster roll when I have one. Across the street from Ocean Edge Resort where I have a condo, this is my go to place for fresh seafood. Prices are comparable to other seafood joints on the Cape, but the quality and freshness is amazing. The portions are large, and this place gets packed in the summertime, but the wait is well worth it. My favorite are the fried whole clams, but I've also tried the hot lobster roll. I've never seen this anywhere else, and it was good, but for the size (served in a hot dog bun), I was expecting more. Don't be surprised if you drop close to $100 on dinner for 3-4 people here, but then again, it's seafood. Any place with dirt cheap seafood could be questionable. read more

I couldn't keep away from the Lobster roll but we added in some of the bisque... loved it. Filled with lobster, sweet and creamy. The portion was generous. What stood out to me was the fact that J T's had a few options of lobster roll that I have never had. The lobster itself was soft and cooked to perfection while the flavor was two thumbs up. It is well worth the drive; bike ride or walk, a tourist must! And the Cape Cod Cooler, so damn good I am putting this on the menu for my Wife's 50th birthday party. Found this place by accident. The outdoor seating drew us in as the weather on Cape Cod last week was awesome. We ordered at the window inside and took our seats outside. A server brought us our food very promptly. The fish patty sandwich was good, but a little dry. Needed the tarter sauce to lubricate. For $8 (including fries) it was a decent value. Kids said fish and chips were good. Ironically, the highlight may have been the hamburger as my 15 year old raved about it. Clam chowder was also good (but, as with most Cape Cod dining, nothing special). The ice cream shop next door to the kitchen was neat. It saved us a trip and gave us a reason to hang out some more on a nice day. Pricing was about average for the area. Lunch for 7 of us (4 adults and 3 kids) was $90. No alcohol. I would go back for the speedy service, big menu and classic Cape Cod fare in a really nice outdoor setting - with easy access to ice cream :-) read more

They had a great menu with good prices and several daily specials. Very nicely done!! We stopped in after driving over and the food hit the spot just fine :) I had the special, baked seafood stuffed cod with green beans and a baked potato, and my coworker had the lobster roll with onion rings. Deep fried goodness? You bet! Service is prompt and the system is a bit wonky, you order at the counter, then try to find a table where they will bring the food by shouting out the order number. We didn't try the ice cream, but it was definitely a "happening" place even for a Wednesday night.
