The shop performed transmission repair on my employee's Dodge Ram truck. The transmission broke down after 1 month. I paid for more parts which later were not used in the repair. Yet the owner kept promising me a refund but never did. In short, the transmission remained broken and my paid unused parts were never refunded, despite multiple attempts. My brother paid this shop over $7,000 to repair his transmission, and they completely failed to fix the vehicle. Instead of doing the job, they kept his truck sitting in their garage for five months with no results and no accountability. While the truck was in THEIR possession, it was vandalized and a window was broken. The owner personally said he would fix the damage -- and then never did. The truck sat for months with a broken window, exposed to rain, leading to water damage that could have been completely prevented. After taking thousands of dollars, they are now refusing to properly fix the transmission or take responsibility for the damage that happened under their watch. This level of negligence and lack of professionalism is beyond frustrating. Now my brother is being forced to take legal action just to try to recover the money and damages caused while the truck was in their care. WARNING: DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK HERE I brought my truck to JV Transmission on June 16th due to a serious transmission issue (downshifting from 6th to 1st gear). The owner, Juan Vega, diagnosed it as a valve body and conductor plate failure and recommended a full transmission rebuild to prevent further problems. He quoted a 1-week turnaround and required a $1,925 deposit for parts -- which I paid (proof attached), with the remainder due upon completion. By July 7th -- three weeks past the promised completion date -- the truck was still not ready. Every time I called, I was told it would be done "tomorrow," or that a part was missing. These were blatant lies. Frustrated, we began recording our conversations to hold Juan accountable. By July 14th -- nearly a month later -- the truck still wasn't fixed. We told Juan to either finish the job or return the truck so we could take it elsewhere. He promised it would be ready the next day. On July 21st, after Juan again claimed the truck would be ready, my wife and I arrived at the shop to find him absent, the truck on a lift, and blocked in. His employees pretended not to know his whereabouts or have a way to reach him. We had to involve the police to even get access to our vehicle. Only after police arrived did they lower the truck -- and we discovered the transmission was in pieces and dumped in the bed. Do not trust J V Transmission on Moursund Blvd. I brought my truck in for a complete transmission overhaul. Juan Vega told me the job would take one week, but they kept my vehicle for almost two weeks and charged me $3,000 for work that was never done. He gave me a detailed invoice full of lies, claiming that parts were replaced and services were completed--none of which actually happened. My husband inspected the truck and found the transmission cover had never been removed. It was obvious they never even touched the vehicle. Juan Vega showed no accountability and offered no explanation or evidence of the work they claimed to have done. In my opinion, Juan Vega took advantage of me and used dishonest tactics to get paid for a service that was never performed. I felt targeted and disrespected as a woman, and I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. Avoid this shop at all costs. He is now threaten us saying that he knows were we live. I would post zero stars for this place! This is by far the worst mechanic shop in all of San Antonio! My 89 year old dad drop off a truck for transmission and breaks. Took 3 months to get truck back. Breaks not fixed but charged for! 2 weeks later converters broke and he took it back only to have truck stuck there for a year! My Dad paid more than was asked and was promised a refund that never came! This guy is a liar,a cheater, thief and will simply take your money and do crap work! Took them over 2 months to fix my truck and when I got it back it wasn't the same transmission it looked like they got one from the junk yard and just put it in they didn't rebuild the old one. DONT COME HERE DONT RECOMMEND!!!!!! read more

Juan Vega had my truck more than two years he hasn't fixed my transmission then someone broke into his shop and did a lot of damage my truck he filed a claim and police report, this guy is a joke more than two months has passed and has not done the repairs learn from my mistake do not bring your vehicle here go somewhere else read more

Same as the other recents posts. He had my elderly mom's car for 3 months and kept saying it would be ready soon and wasn't. Kept added things wrong with it to get more money from her. She picked it up three times and it would not even make it home. Had to get the car towed 2 times immediately after picking up the car. Do not go here. This man is a thief.. read more

Beware, took my vehicle in for transmission issue. 2months later I still don't have my vehicle. 1st it was still not shifting believed to have been defective part, then all of a sudden my brakes weren't working. After a month they finally able to work on the transmission then waiting in ford to come relearn it, they did that twice, 2 month mark now it's smoking so they have to keep it longer, I'm still waiting on it, every day was either it will be ready tomorrow, then by Friday then i have to drive it so Monday it will good. Well over 2 months I'm still waiting, in the meantime I'm having to pay rentals, this place may be cheaper but the saying "you get what you pay for" is definitely the case. Saving a few bucks was definitely not worth it. This has been absolute nightmare! read more

worst place ever and juan vega is a joke, they have had my daughters car back and forth since june and still can't fix the transmission . we had to take him to small claims court but this guy is a great liar!! please avoid this place or you might have to learn the hard way. i hope this can prevent someone from loss of money and a big headache dealing with jv transmission....juan vega you and i know the truth and that is that you rip off your customers !!!! read more

Came here with a friend's skipping transmission. They ran some tests on the vehicle, and were able to tell how far the gaps were between the various clutches and the gears. They presented the findings with absolute terms, how far the gap was, instead of some vague gesturing that I'm used to. They did a great job of describing the problem, and estimating what it would take to fix it. They seem honest, and straightforward. However, the work was not completed. I did respect their opinions, and led to more knowledgeable decisions regarding the car. They work on most types of cars, with the exception of some foreign models. read more
