We've been here a couple times and it's really more of a solid 3.5 Stars! The food and choices are very good. Tons of stuff to choose from the bar, but I would say the only thing that holds this place back from being stellar is the service. Both times, our service was very slow. The bartenders - Sam - are the best! They stay on top of your drinks and food. I had the famous loaded tator tots- a must have! The locals scream about how great the pork sliders, buffalo sandwich, smoked pork nachos, and the value of the house salad which is a true bargain! My boyfriend and I have been here several times as their wings have always been AMAZING! We love the cajun spicy, blackened. We have been cooped up as most and thought we would get out today and have some wings and a cold beer. We order our beer then a few later our food. We wanted to enjoy our beer before our meal (18 wings/ tots) Food arrived first (not happy) them was told the computer was down and bartender didnt receive (ok- i'll understand as its not the waiters fault) 3/4 way into the wings my BF bites into a bloody raw wing! To top it off- the tots were so disgusting I could not even eat them. They were like mush! The manager comps our food (fine and dandy as I still pay for beer and tip the waiter well) My PROBLEM is - not one time did he or she come to our table to even check, see or apologize! I would have never let a customer leave my establishment before attending to them personally. Its sucks bc we had in the past thought they had the best wings and service. Monday night is a little quiet but bar service is good and there are plenty of TVs to what the games. Very good selection of beers on tap 50+. I tried the BBQ chicken salad. I was there earlier in the evening where I got the chicken fried chicken with jack fries and mashed potatoes every thing was great an all the chicken was great the mashed potatoes were good but the fries were kinda heavily salted but it was good an all but I wish I had more fries on my plate and more mashed potatoes the waitress I had was nice and chill and he was very polite but other than that great experience and I also like the atmosphere of the restaurant and I will definitely be back again read more

Ate here at 1:30 on Labor Day. Definitely coming back. Wings = decent but not great. Nice they are grilled. Tangy sesame sauce was the best. Also had mango habanero and it was just ok. We had high expectations for the wings. Burgers were awesome. Both types of fries and onion rings were awesome. Our family enjoyed the rings more than anything else. Ahi nachos were just ok. We ate out on the patio today. The service was a little slow, but they had just opened. We checked in using this app and got a free appetizer. We ordered the pulled pork nachos. They were very good, but a pretty large serving. I got the Philly cheese steak which was pretty good also. You had to pay extra for French fries, but they gave you a large serving for the $2.25. It was too much food after the nachos and the philly. My wife got the Lucy juicy burger. She said it was okay, but not good enough for her to want to come back. Roanoke rocks! One of our favorite places in the Metroplex is Oak St. in Roanoke. Home of the "unique dining capital of Texas" we enjoy our neighbors to the south and the great eateries there. Jack and Grill always does us right with a great vibe, good service, and a tasty and wide variety of food options. Ordered buffalo wings (they are tenders aka massive) and tried lemon garlic and buffalo chipotle. It was so tasty and not to saucy! I would definitely recommend! As an appetizer I ordered queso and salsa. It is made in house and was Ahhh-mazing. They topped the queso with beef and guacamole (guacamole was to die for). Chips were a tad but salty but overall great food! Also, I ordered the Texas sunset. It consisted of classic coconut rum, pineapple and grenadine(?). It was good (you can't really go wrong I suppose). Two thumbs wayyy up! If you're a fan of the "unique dining" in Roanoke, this is a great spot! read more

The lemon garlic wings were right on the money and the side of sweat potato fries completed the meal. Great food and bar atmosphere but lackluster service. I've been here several times; sometimes to watch a game and other times to enjoy the outdoor patio. The best service we ever got was when we had a table inside. While sitting at the bar or (especially) outside..service is not great. I'm not sure if the waiters have tables inside AND out, but we have felt forgotten more than once. Some of my favorite things are the blackened salmon cobb salad (my go-to entree), the loaded tots, and the pork nachos (definitely a share plate). If you like a little spice, the pickles are good, too. I'm not a huge beer person, but they are great about letting you try samples before you decide. I recently had a blood orange beer from Bishop Arts and it was REALLY good. As long as you plan to spend a bit of time here, enjoying some food and beer and the game, you'll be fine. read more

What a terrible experience this was all around. Took awhile to get service initially. The place itself's decor was cool lots of sports & all colleges on the wall EXCEPT The University of North Texas which is the closest major university to the grill. I asked if I could bring a flag to put up & he said maybe a small one we're full. Including myself I was with 4 UNT alumni who were disappointed in that. Maybe get rid of the university of Minnesota & Yale flags for a school that you're actually gonna have customers of. My drink order was forgotten & I had to remind the waiter of it, (he did comp it, our waiter was very nice & friendly at least). Fried pickles appetizer was was about 6 pickle bites so very small portion. I got boneless wings & the they were awful. Visited on a Sunday just before noon. Moderately crowded and we were seated immediately. We had been at our table for over 10 minutes and watched the servers pass by our table several times before we asked the host who our particular server was. He came by a few minutes later and said he didn't see us though he had been waiting on the table two seats over (who arrived after we did). I was a server for years and try to be understanding but it was very obvious he was much more concerned with flirting with a female server near the bar and visiting with his friends at the host stand. He brought out the wrong beer for my husband as well. The service was bad. *But the food was great!* If I lived close enough to order delivery through a service I would. Easy to eat here. Kids meals are a great deal. The kids sliders are really yummy. My 5 year old loved the kids chicken strips, my 11 year old thought they were so-so. They all wished that the fries did NOT have the seasoning. I guess you have to ask for them to be unseasoned (I kinda think kids meals should automatically come with plain salted fries). So unfortunately they probably would have loved the waffle fries but we ended up tossing most of those. Great beer list. Queso was really good. Great service. Will visit again. read more

Food not terrible. Atmosphere decent enough. Things took a turn for the worse with the level of service. A very young staff seemed to want to socialize more than do their job. i.e. Our server took our water glass to refill it. Never brought it back. Our server constantly passed our table without taking our order. At least 5 times. I get that there are other tables to take care if, but this place was sorta empty on a Saturday night. (It's a sports bar, so I guess I should have put 2 and 2 together) Our server would rather flirt and hug on the employees that were there picking up their check than bring us back our card and slip. The manager didn't seem overly concerned either. Doubt we'll go back, and the server should feel fortunate that she got the dollar tip rather than me rounding up to the next dollar on the bill. read more

A few months ago I had bad wings, like sick for three days. Tonight we thought let's try it again. After sitting on the patio for 30 min after the hostess sat us. 3 waiters walked by us and even the buss boys walked by us. No one ever asked what we wanted or even acknowledged we were customers. So we went to Flips, sat down and ordered. I guess my money is not good there. It's sad this place has gone down hill. It was a good place to have a beer. If I could give negative stars I would. We are fans, my husband loves the smoked wings. They are really good, he gets them naked with blacked seasoning. Their waffle fries are great! Side salad is really good if u like salads , not Texas ranch drenched salad, but a good classy side salad. The pulled pork nachos can feed 4. I also enjoy the salmon tacos. They give you a ton of salmon. We usually sit in the bar area so typically service is good. The waitstaff does tend to chit chat and hang out by the service stations , but I've never had an issue with them not being attentive. read more

I've been coming to Jack and Grill since they opened. I took my daughter and son-in-law there Friday night, we started out by ordering the pulled pork nachos which are too die for! I've noticed over time the amount of pork on them seems to be less & less. Next time I'm going to ask them to double the meat. Been there twice, its ok. We had boneless wings which were good, the cheeseburger was good but nothing special -- it'd be nice if they had bacon to go on it but instead I had to settle for bacon bits, strange since bacon cheeseburgers seem to be a pretty standard staple. The waffle fries are excellent, I definitely recommend those. The flatbread pizza apparently uses a pre-made topping mix so you can't easily make any substitutions, and it kinda shows in the final product which was pretty underwhelming (especially with a great pizza place like Inzo just down the street). The atmosphere and service were good though, but aside from the wings it seems like they're a jack of all trades, master of none. read more

Yum yum! Everything I've had here is good, even the BBQ chopped salad. The salsa is no joke, and soooo good. We could drink the queso. We take our 2 year old here & she eats very good. Large children's portions. The skinny girl turkey burger is so filling you would never know its low fat. Definitely a restaurant more than a bar to us. While I didn't have a beer tonight, I know that I'll be coming back for not only the expansive beer selection, but also their food. Surprisingly, I was not a fan of their wings (their sauces were just too spicy for my tastes) but the cedar plank salmon with Mac n cheese that hubby had and my chicken tomatillo soup and salad that I had were fantastic. More than just soup and salad, the chicken tomatillo soup had a decent kick to it which was perfect for a cold night and the house salad stepped it up a notch with candied walnuts, dried pecans, diced cucumbers, and diced red onions.
