I never got them, even though, I asked three different servers. and I asked the lady, who I thought was the waitress who cleaned the table, but she didn't wipe it down. She just picked up the dishes. The Whiskey Girl was playing and we planned weeks ago to celebrate a friend's birthday. Called ahead of time and asked if there was a cover charge - they said no. We arrived at 8 sat down and order drinks and queso. The queso was like water and no flavor. A man came up and asked if we paid the cover charge. We said there wasn't one. He became aggressive and rude as they changed the website three days ago to tickets - I think he went to the back to edit their website. I asked for a manager and he said he was "security manager" and said he would give us a discount for their mistake. Really??? Said we had half hour to decide. Then asked the waiter to deal with it. We recently brought the whole family of seven adults to the Mule barn for the first time. We had heard good things about it and so we wanted to try it out for ourselves. We came early on a Saturday night and got to choose our table. It was smart to arrive early as it got busy later! We were not disappointed. To start with the drinks were very good, refreshing and not overly high priced. I loved the strawberry vodka lemonade! The food was great, we started with delicious southwest eggrolls, which everybody loved, and the queso was also very good. For dinner, we tried many different items. The big hit was the catfish- fried and delicious! We also tried the chicken fried steak and yummy mashed potatoes. We tried the burger which was perfectly cooked and I had the blackened chicken salad which was not the best choice - it wasn't really blackened. But I was full from the other items so that I didn't really mind. We wish there was live music early for that would have had us stay longer and order more drinks, but they didn't have music til late. First of all, this place has no business calling itself a "Sports Bar." It is more like a dive bar music venue, but sports should not be in their description. Yes they have a couple of televisions, but during the NCAA basketball tournament, they had the TVs all tuned to some ignorant, insulting web based "see how stupid my accident can be" channel. When we asked if they could change at least one TV to a basketball game we were told by our server that "people like this channel, so NO." Speaking of that server, I asked her what beers were on tap and she said, "you know, the usual ones." I didn't know, I had never been there before, so I had to go up to the bar myself and read the tap handles. Then the beer itself was in a mug so wet as it melted, that we had to wipe the water running off our table ourselves. Goodness knows our wonderful server didn't notice. As for the food, I had a Cajun Philly. Best described as cold, small serving of meat, hardly any cheese to be found on a stale bun. On the side were soggy fries. My wife had Brisket Nachos. Not terrible but too much fat on the brisket, again very little cheese, and again not very hot. Now in normal circumstances I would have sent my meal back but given the attentiveness of the server so far, we just wanted to get out and consider this just a big mistake in coming. I guess, if a musical act you like is scheduled for there it would be a good place to go and have a drink and listen, but if food or service is on your mind, I say no. read more

Went to see a band play with a party of six people and paid $15 each for the cover charge. We waited an hour past the avertized time the band was supposed to start. Got tired of waiting for the after spending $185 dollars in drinks and food. Kindly inquired the attendentant at the door and asked "Since we did not see the band could we please have our cover refunded?" He was kind and said it would be up to the manager in charge. I approached the manager and asked if we were entitled to a refund. He kindly said no and I am sorry. What has happened to customer service at the Mule Barn? I have been going there for years and have always enjoyed the staff and their treatment. Why did we have to pay for entertainment, have them be late getting to the stage, and not be entitled to a refund. This is obviously bad customer service! Very disappointed! read more

Happened to see they were looking for wait staff and never knew they were in my area. Went for dinner and was pleasantly surprised it was kind of an urban cowboy vibe. This is the type of place where you get drunk and the food taste delicious! I wanted to try a new place and decided to stop here and give it a try. Well maybe I should of listened to the reviews, it's not that great. Let me start with service, it's bad. The waitress acknowledged us when we arrived and told us we could sit anywhere we liked. She took our drinks order and didn't see her until about 20 mins later. Prior to her coming, I was wondering what was taking so long (no the restaurant was not packed, only few people there) and noticed she was at the bar chit chatting with the other waitresses. I assume that conversation was way more important than taking our meal order. Fast forward, we now have our food. Was the food great? No, not at all. I had the fried fish and my sister the steak fingers. I have tried better. The onion rings, not all that. The fries, cold. In the middle of my sister chocking down her food, since she was out of her sweet tea, we turned around and notice our waitress at the bar living it up and eating. No refills for us, I guess to her we were done. So we waved her down to bring us our check. How many times did we see her in that whole hour? Three times, when she brought us menu, took our drinks order, and when we got the check. Moral of the story, you are better off elsewhere! read more

The food is good...try the Philly Cheesesteak. We went on a Sunday to see a band (awesome band), but the table service was non-existent for us. While there were other full tables of patrons who'd already got their leftovers in to-go boxes, they were the only tables still being waited on! Go figure.
