Went to Jack & Grill in Roanoke, TX tonight and ordered some french fries and would like them to be crispy. When order arrived I told the waitress that they were not crispy and she advised that she stressed to 'cook' that needed to have them made crispy. Was then told that they did not have the time to make them crispy, which would take an additional 30 seconds. Spoke to the restaurant manager and she told us that the KITCHEN manager said they didn't have time to make them as ordered by a customer. So, I'm guessing that the KITCHEN manager rules the restaurant and they don't have time to make the customer happy. Never, have I been told by a restaurant they didn't have an additional 30 seconds to make it right. Will no longer go to this establishment with the family. Guess they don't need the business. The restaurant was probably 50-60% full. read more

I must admit, I didn't expect much from this place since I am not a sports bar type of food girl. To my surprise, they had a great menu and plenty of beer/drinks to enjoy. Unfortunately, not to much of a local beer selection (we are really big on local!) If you go, I highly recommend the pulled pork nachos. Again,a pleasant surprise! It's a nice hangout after work in a hidden little place. Having a candy store near by is a plus as well! We ordered the waffle fries as well the the thin crust pizza. I would definitely try the mashed potato tater tots. They were devine!! Went for a work outing so will definitely go back with friends to enjoy more of their food!!! read more

We are new to town and came here a few weeks ago. We were waited on by a young man named Seth and he was absolutely amazing. He was friendly and answered (with patience) all of our questions about the menu. This has easily become our favorite restaurant in town and each time we ask for Seth if he is available. If you are in town and have time to stop by, ask for Seth and get the spinach dip to start and the Blackened wings. You won't be disappointed. read more

I've tried this place 3 times. The first was a good experience that's why I came back. Second visit was okay. Flatbread pizza, though a lot of toppings, the flatbread tasted as if it wasn't freshly made, at least for that day. The special beer they had that day was expensive. A small glass for $18. Though it was stronger than regular beers, I didn't think it was worth the price for the glass size. But, I thought to myself, let me give this place another try. Third (and probably the last time or at least it will be awhile until I come back), bone-in chicken wings they dubbed (on their menu) the best wings on DFW was room temperature, not cooked well. I actually saw another couple where the guy ordered the same thing & ended up having the server take it back. The couple left the restaurant. Note, I tried this place on different days & seems that serving is inconsistent. I gave this place 3 stars because the servers are nice & attentive. **IF** you get your food, it's pretty good; except for the boneless wings. Those look and taste like store bought, fried and sauced chicken tenders. Ahihi tuna nachos = shmeh... lack of flavor, and drowned in nasal clearing wasabi. Beer selection great. 53 to be exact. Also have a good choice of beer flights. The "house batered" onion strings taste just like every other restaurant. Loaded fries get a solid thumbs up! Went here with friends on a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon to enjoy a few beers. Place was not busy and we were able to get a table on the patio, PERFECT since it was so nice out. The table had been cleared of dishes, but not wiped. When the waitress came to the table, she laid the menus and silverware on the dirty table, not even acknowledging that the table needed to be cleaned. My friend finally asked it she would wipe it off. She did, with a dirty rag, haphazardly and in the process, wiped crumbs on all of us. We all ordered beer and discussed whether we wanted to order an appetizer to share. Decided on nachos. I'm not even going to try to remember the specific "name" of them because they were less than spectacular. Our waitress was obviously tied up doing something else, because another employee brought the nachos to our table. Literally came by and just plopped them down. Not so much as a "did you order the nachos"? Have a nice day, nothing. The plates they brought were wet, I guess they just came out of the dishwasher... That's what I am allowing myself to think... My friend used napkins to dry them off. It was very windy that day, and an empty glass blew off the table and broke on the patio. We picked up the large pieces and assumed that someone from the staff would come over to clean up the rest. Nope. Again, when the waitress did come back, we had to point out the obvious. I am a HUGE reader of Yelp reviews. I always check them before we go somewhere new. I am careful to take into account, good to bad on a place. The one thing that will immediately influence my decision to try a new place is consistent poor reviews on service. We may visit again since they do have a nice selection of beer, but it definitely won't be at the top of my list. read more

Went here for lunch with coworkers. Ordered the veggie burger. The waiter said it was a black bean burger. It came out looking watery and greasy. Sent it back as it did not look good at all. The manager was very rude about and came to the table in front of everyone very loudly. Made a big point about it. Coworkers chicken was greasy and tough. I wish I could give more stars, but the service is consistently poor. Once a server decides to greet you, it's really hit or miss. The food is amazing which is why we keep coming back. Stopped in for lunch today. I had the fried chicken PO boy, and my hubby had the crazy platter which consisted of fried fish, shrimp, oysters, hush puppies, and fries. We had the fried dill pickle spears for an appetizer. Overall I just felt like the food lacked flavor. The chicken tasted like it had just been in a simple batter and fried without any seasoning. It wasn't bad, but wasn't magically delicious either. The thing that was good was the remoulade sauce on the PO boy. My husband thought the platter was just ok as well. Just felt like their batter lacked flavor for the fried food. I will say the hush puppies and fried pickles were pretty delicious though! I also like that they have a good selection of local beers on tap, including Shannon brewing Co., which is brewed just down the street in Keller. Now, on to service. I have to say I was a little disappointed. It was around 2pm when we came in and didn't look too busy. The sign when you walk in the door says please wait to be seated. We stood there for a good 5 minutes with several employees walking by before we were acknowledged. I understand if your busy, but a "hey we we will be with you in just a minute" goes a long way. Overall service was friendly, but slow. Something happened and the kitchen didn't get our order in, so after 30-45 minutes our server finally realized something was wrong. The manager was apologized for the long wait, gave us free chips and shrimp queso (yum!), and didn't charge us for our appetizers. Good service recovery, but overall the service was just slow from the get go. Will I return? Probably not. Just didn't feel like the food was anything special. So here is a new discover which my daughter suggested for our lunch meet. First impression was good like a place which can morph from day to night, weekdays to weekend. Menu has range. Sense the grilled wings are a feature to compliment the 53 craft beers. Wings are on the radar but the devil eggs and soups are for sure tasty. Sarachi sauce on those eggs with a beer chaser...yum. Flat steak and Turkey burger did not disappoint yet the side spinach is spot on for it has a consistent seasoning cooked just right. There are many other items I hope to try which definitely includes the burgers. Bottom line good kitchen great flavor. Check it out if passing through Roanoke. read more

Too many better places on Oak Street to waste your time here. They can't even cook a burger medium rare if they tried. (They tried 3 times). The nachos are so generic and tasteless, they are laughable. Management wouldn't even acknowledge the overcooked burger 3 times in a row. I ordered medium rare and got well done each time. Came in for an appetizer and drinks. We were seated in the bar area, but a waiter never came over, while patrons who arrived later than we did were ordering and getting drinks. We tried to make eye contact with anyone on the wait staff, but they seem to have perfected avoiding it. After about 15 minutes, we left. We let the hostess know that we weren't waited on, but I somehow think this will be the first management will hear of it. Decent amount of TVs to watch the game. My high school aged sons ordered the wings and the barnyard burger. Both said it was alright and they did didn't finish it. My wife ordered tge pepperoni flatbread and didn't like it. I ordered the juicy lucy burger and it wasnt. I also ordered the Tots, which are not tots but deep fried mash potato. It was good. This is a great neighborhood sports bar which is exactly what is needed in Keller/Southlake/Roanoke. We went there to watch Oregon TCB against Floriday State. They've got well over 25 beers on tap and great food. In fact, far better than the "other" sports bar in Southlake. Plenty of TV's and Nice patio as well. Check this one out...you won't be disappointed. It's a bit pricey and service is so-so but worth the trip. read more

Took my wife to have a lunch beer and meal. Got some fried pickles that were great! ordered our lunch and after about 30 min noticed the the kitchen staff not cooking anything and our order not up. NOT the kitchens fault!!!! The bar tender with red hair was strung out and higher than Willie Nelson on 4/20, so he forgot to put in our order. we had to ask other sober staff about it and they were amazing at helping us out. it's sad because the food actually looked good but I was done waiting on a bar tender that was clearly not in the right frame of mind to be working with customers. I will definitely go back to try to give the rest of the staff the benefit of the doubt. read more

Went to Jack's for their signature Juicy Lucy burger. Wife had the California Chicken grill sandwich. Both were excellent as were the crisp sweet potato fries. If you want a great burger, this is the place to go! My issue was the bad taste in my mouth, not from the food, but the Manager. I walked in with no mask (1st day of Governor's no mask order - granted not in effect until next week and I would've put in on to walk to table if they asked, but they didn't) and the host seated us right away at a table no more than 10 feet from the front door. I sat down and the waitress took our drink orders and upon her return brought a mask and said she was asked by the Manager to give me the mask and she placed it on the table. During our visit, the bartender was talking to customers leaning over on the bar with no mask. Also, the cook staff, 4 of them were all cooking with no masks. Seeing this really got me mad. I waited until after dinner and our check was brought and we ask the waitress to see the Manager. The Manager lady came over and I asked her if she had the waitress bring the mask over - she had the audacity to say "no!" I told her the waitress said she told her to and I went on to identify all of the employees who had no mask on and that she had some nerve and it was insulting for her to have that mask brought to my table after I sat down. The waitress would not have done this on her own, so it was bad enough the Manager sent the mask over when her employees had no mask on, but that she appeared to outright lie saying she never had it sent to my table. Jack, the owner, needs to address this Manager as this needs to stop. read more

Our family loves this spot! Usually always busy! Mostly American food but they also have nachos and AMAZING enchiladas! My kids love the flat bread pizza, which I always want to steal.. so good! Signature dish here are the wings, which also are super good! My fave is the blackened salmon Cobb salad. I love when I can go to a restaurant and eat healthy when majority of my family doesn't and we all are happy! So far we have loved everything on the menu. A nice addition to the Roanoke area.
