I had been eyeing this place for a while and finally committed to going, I went on a Saturday evening and it was pretty packed being it's a small space, but I was still able to sit at the bar comfortably. Me and my boyfriend were greeted immediately amongst entrance and taken care of very well. The atmosphere was friendly, I'd say it leans more to a bar than a burger joint. Awesome variety of burgers and specials! The burgers were far more delicious than I had even been hoping for considering i ordered something i thought i wouldnt like; that's a big ups in my book! Last but not least, they had their own sauce for the fries that was delicious! I'd describe it as mayoketchup but much sweeter. The restaurant has a divey appeal to it, kinda tacky even but that says nothing of their burgers and brew. Their "Schocker" burger with sliced habanero peppers was STELLAR, and the best burger I've had since I lived in Bremerton, WA! The cheeseburger here is great. I had french fries and they were ok. My target here was the burger so I didn't deduct any points for the ok fries. I was in town only for the night and wanted it eat at my motel. That way I could drink as much with my meal as I wanted without worrying about driving back to the room. It took me about 30 or 40 minutes after I picked up my order to get in a position to eat, so the food wasn't as warm as it could be, but that is on me and not on JB's. The person who waited on me was very nice. The take out was ready when she said it was going to be ready (10 - 15 minutes). One thing that I particularly appreciate: The burger was not huge. It was filling, but when I finished, I did not feel like a foundering horse. The Greenville, NC area is a great place for barbecue also. I smoke my own barbecue, so I don't usually order it at restaurants. If you are in Greenville and in the mood for a burger, check out Jack Brown's. The staff were friendly but inattentive and left my burger sitting for 6 minutes and 30 seconds after they had dinged the bell and I was sitting at the bar. Because of the temperature the burger and fries just weren't the same as the previous first experience where it was a completely different staff and they were amazing and my experience was a 10/10. The menu is extremely limited. You can't add onion or swiss cheese or mushroom to your burger. There are 6 beers on tap but plenty bottles or cans. There were flies flying around our table as we ate. The staff was friendly and atmosphere very casual. There was a staff member going outside to smoke and out his butts in a cup with what looked like lemons and tea. He set the cup on the metal rack above the peanut butter they use for the burgers. The bacon was kept in an open mental container above the grill. A fly free for all.
