Honest to god, they made the best ever protein style I've ever tasted. BETTER THAN IN N OUT. Staff there is so kind, it's unbelievable. I had a mobile order for in ultimate cheeseburger, replaced buns with lettuce and I was given heaven. I didn't get the staff's name, but she was so kind. Props to her and all the staff working their hardest there. Food was spectacular and affordable too! Might be cheap on the budget, but not cheap when it comes to the quality. Road trips are fun. Even better when you have good company. The fun started when my friend and I were on our way back up from a raucous weekend down in San Diego. For the record, he had more of a raucous time than I did and paid for it partially on our trip back up (aka barfing on the side of the freeway on government land and then pretty much getting a HOO-RAH from a passing Marine, CLASSIC!) The poor guy rested from that point on until we were about halfway up I-5. He wakes up and says that he's hungry, I see a sign for Jack In The Box and off the freeway we careen. Walk into the place, order up some food and sat down with our bounty. As we were going deep in our food we took a glance around. The people were interesting to say the least, some of which appeared as if they shared one tooth among a couple of them. I believe I made a comment that the Lost Hills Have Eyes or something to that effect. Sure it's not nice to say these things but it was only our personal observations. Normally I like Jack n the Box for a quick road trip meal but this one was horrible. I ordered a grilled cheese with lettuce, tomato, and onion, and I received a chicken sandwich with bacon. No big deal, I would have eaten it if I ate meat. So I went back to the counter and they gave me a sandwich with toasted bread and cold cheese LOL. I had to go back to the counter and ask for an actual "grilled cheese". They told me that is how it comes and if they toasted it any longer it would burn. I then again asked for a GRILLED cheese (because how hard could it be??????) I then received a half melted cheese sandwich and just sucked it up and ate it because I was not going to go back and explain how to make a grilled cheese. This is the most unreasonably long wait ever. Having worked in fast food myself, I find it completely unacceptable to see a line of more than 4 guests up front with over 8 employees behind the counter pretending not to see any of them for over 5 minutes. It took over 20 minutes just to put in an order and leave with the food. My boyfriend, worried about me for it taking so long felt the need to phone me multiple times just to make sure I hadn't been kidnapped. The staff is friendly and laughy to one another while ignoring a lobby full of people. Terrible experience. I know you're hungry from whatever long drive you're taking but don't waste your time with this place. read more

Stopped here today as when I eat fast food the quality is generally good at Jack. Whole inside was caution tape - no restroom access like most places have.... looks like they are not interested in keeping the store clean for travelers.. Several employees walking around serving drive through customers - not a lot of interest in walk in customers. Ordered two hamburgers for my sister and egg rolls for me. Took one bite of the first egg roll snd on the second bite it was cold inside. Broke another one in half and the same thing even though they were deep fried and hot on the outside to the touch. Bad food safety protocol!!! Took the egg rolls back in and asked for a refund / no apologies or offer for anything else. She looked in the bag and threw them in the trash and just said "cold" to one of the other workers. She then said - put your card in -printed a receipt and walked away with it. I waited 5 minutes - she finally came back out of the back room and walked by the cash registers not saying anything to me or the other customers who were now waiting. So I left feeling uncomfortable for making the other people wait. I would not go back here - seeing the rest of the reviews it all makes sense. The brightly-colored climbing structure at this Jack in the Box caught our attention, so we stopped in for a little breakfast time food and exercise. Unfortunately for us, Jack has not exactly embraced the evolution towards healthy-ish options in fast food... and we could not find anything on the menu that looked less greasy than a triple cheeseburger or its breakfast equivalent. Now I'm not scared of a greasy meal here and there, but there are times (like after a week-long vacation filled with amusement park hot dogs) when you want to at least serve your kids a piece of fruit with their grease. YES! I have to do it!! I just gave Jack in the Box 4 stars!! Its my guilty road trip pleasure!! I don't know why but I absolutely LOVE the Ultimate Cheeseburger....its like the sex panther of my cologne collection....you don't get it very often, but when you do....DAYUM!! So needless to say, I was on a road trip, and I had to stop for some of that Ultimate Cheez goodness! This location was much like the rest, except for a few subtleties I noticed....first, they gave me a lot of fries! I always order curly fries with my UCB, and this time they definitely gave a hearty portion....SCORE!! That being said, they did leave mustard out of the UCB, but it was still pretty tasty and I was starving so I didn't really notice....and the staff here were super nice too, so they get a solid 4 stars in my book! Usually love Jack in the Box, but... Bathrooms- a complete mess. Tables- most were not picked up and had trash all over them. Trash cans (inside and outside) - all overflowing. Ok- so there was a long line to order, which is understandable... but the one cashier didn't seem to have any urgency, and had too many jobs to do besides taking everyone's orders (getting the coffee ready, handling an order that needed to be fixed, getting people condiments, etc). Food- as expected. I don't usually use Yelp when stopping at a Fast Food place, but I will def take people's advice and go to Carl's Jr or Taco Bell when passing through this area again. read more

I'm gonna hop on the bad review train here. I went to this Jack, not once but twice. It was passing through both times but the first time it was at like 3:30 am so I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt "maybe they were short staffed and tired?" NOPE. The first time was definitely worse, we waited about 30 minutes for our orders. We were the only ones there... The bathrooms are disgusting. The people aren't very nice and there's a machine above the door that when you walk through, it sounds like a lawn mower turning on or something. No joke, that machine made my sister scream when it turned on. The second time we went there we didnt use the bathroom, and we ordered very simples things. My sister and I ordered (separately i might add) a portabello mushroom buttery jack meal. I ordered curly fries and she asked for regular. The girl called out #428 ... we were just standing there confused bc we were 420 and 421, and there was no one else.. she kept calling it, so I went up, she said "oh sorry, the 0 looks like an 8" ...so does she do that all the time? lol Maybe shes's new... idk. We got our food and took off in the car, our mistake. She gave us both some kinda pepper buttery jack and both of us got curly fries.. didnt think it was that hard of an order. I thought maybe the cooks made the mistake but when I looked over the receipts again it definitely didn't say portabello mushroom, she didnt even put it in right. Twice. Then most tables haven't been wiped either. It's a dump here. Long lines are also a problem. I've never seen two registers open here. They only have one and that makes the wait too long. Jack in the box is always my first pick when it comes to fast food but recently I feel the quality has gone down. I had ordered a brunch sandwich and the egg had a hair in it, the cheese was so dry it didn't melt, and burger was so dry it was hard. The other burger had similar problem, the burger was dry and hard, the jalapenos were dry and the bread was soggy. When I asked for my sandwich to be fixed they left the "new" one on the counter after so I had to wait until I got someones attention to follow up. ALL OF THE EMPLOYEES were sitting at tables and EATING whilst having lively and joyful conversations. The audacity. Not only did they ignore eager and hungry customers, they are costing this corporation their wages (for which they are NOT WORKING).
