I went to a team outing here a while back. I randomly found a Groupon, and we went this weekend. I always enjoy coming here. It's very clean and modern. The bowling games are fun and have different themes you can choose. There's also an option to set bowlers up with or without bumpers which is great if you're a family and the little ones need bumpers, but you'd rather not have them up for yourself. There is also food available and a full bar with servers who attend the lanes. The restrooms have always been clean during my visits. I haven't played in the arcade or done the laser tag yet. Cons: For some strange reason, the ball weights are only even numbers with the exception of 15 lbs. I don't understand this. The food is mostly bar style with no healthy options. The majority of meat is fried. There are a few salads, but outside of that, there's not much to work with if you're not looking to consume a ton of calories. Regular prices can be high. It is a very nice experience and atmosphere, but for a lot of family's, it isn't necessarily practical. Overall, good experience and friendly staff. read more

This location echoes the extremely poor laser tag experience as two others I've visited, excluding single players from games they should otherwise be allowed to play in. Most of the arcade machines were either broken or faulty, especially the card reader for cards won from specific games. Employee attitudes were beyond poor and prizes weren't worth the plastic the game cards were made from. read more

While it was a fun experience the place feels a bit older and prices are higher, which is expected at a place like this. We were here on a pretty busy Saturday so I imagine that affected our experience a bit. The games were also a bit underwhelming, theres a few typical games but a lot of them seemed to be just tailored to children. There's plenty to do if you are a kid for sure. There didn't seem to be anyone wiping down any of the games while we were there either. The bowling alley itself went pretty smooth, but it's not a true game like at an actual bowling alley. The lanes were not slippery enough and your ball would gain a lot of traction. The prizes in the prize room were pretty basic and everything we tried to redeem tend to have the wrong price on them. We were seated at the restaurant and no one came by and greeted us for about 10 so we left and waited til we could order at the bowling area. What a great entertainment spot for Greenville to enjoy!! They have everything from a fully stocked arcade with almost every game you can think of, escape rooms, laser tag and bowling! Not to mention they have multiple bars and a wonderful restaurant that prepares dynamite food which I'll get to in a moment. Ample parking is available for this large venue. This is a great spot for parties, work gatherings, birthdays or any celebration or family fun day imaginable. My family of 9 went for bowling on a busy day after Christmas. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait for two lanes and they kept right to that schedule. We did not call ahead or have reservations and were fine waiting as we went straight to the bar. The bar is full service with wine, liquor and beer and you can take your drinks to the bowling lane if they call you earlier than expected. They have a great selection of craft beer, large TVs displaying sports games and tons of table top space to accommodate the crowds. Once we got to our bowling lane which was in the elite room (semi private used for event space I believe) we were greeted with a waiter for more drink and food service. The service was great, constant and friendly. The food was absolutely fantastic. This is not your standard bowling alley fare! I would say this is a wonderful restaurant that happens to have bowling lanes. We ordered a little of everything: pizza, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, loaded tots, and fries. Everything was delicious but the loaded tots really stood out! Pics included! I didn't think I would like this place as much as I do. We were suckered into the Kids Bowl Free program and naturally had to sign up as a family as well. You still pay for the shoe rental (we need to buy a couple of pairs for the adults). We've been a few times so far and had a good experience so far. The employees are polite (shocker, no really) and helpful. When we've experienced issues with the lane someone was quick to come and help. The kids have a great time and they even have those dinosaur roller thingies that help your kid roll the bowling ball down the alley, if they cannot do it by themselves (why weren't those things around when I was a kid? - wait, I didn't bowl as a kid). The computer system to input your party's name is easily navigable and each player can be edited to have guard rails (I will admit I do use them and still can't reach a high score). Two games, depending on your party/lane size can pass fairly quickly, so you're not stuck there for hours upon hours. I think 8 people per lane are allowed. Maybe some people do want to be there for hours and hours; especially on Wednesdays, because everything is half off. Lesson learned; it's crowded on Wednesdays and we had to wait over an hour to get bowling lanes with friends. Since this is obviously an eatertainment they offer a full-service restaurant with standard American fare. There is an arcade, two bowling areas and escape rooms. We visited Spare Time Greenville twice this Memorial Day weekend. On Sunday they have bowling for $2.22 from 9-11 PM. We decided to go after having dinner Sunday. The wait time was about an hour during this time. We killed time by playing games in the arcade. They have plenty of things to do there instead with the bar, decent sized arcade, escape rooms, and laser tag . I tried their $7 Memorial Day white cocktail which tasted good, but like a virgin pina colada. I would not recommend bowling if you have more than 3 players and they call you for a lane after 10 PM. We tried it with four players and ended up getting our game cut short by two rounds because they closed at 11 PM. It kind of felt like money wasted, although we still had fun. We ended up coming back the next afternoon to play in the arcade again, since we had cash left on the game cards and aren't from this area. It was less crowded during the day today. My son ended up coming home with several small toys from the prize room. Please note that you cannot pay for any of the items in the room. Some arcades allow you to pay money with a toy amount if you do not have enough tickets. Spare Time staff stated that you must have enough tickets to redeem for an item. The prizes ranged from candy, balls, toys to electronics. Overall, I recommend it if you're looking for something to do that all ages can enjoy. read more

Spare Time Greenville is a great way to spend an afternoon (and a lot of money!). It's fun for kids and adults alike, whether you're in the mood for bowling, laser tag, or video games. I have 3 boys ranging in age from 4 to 11 and each of them have a blast every time we go. From what I've noticed, they don't really have sales or deals going on beyond being a VIP member or possibly a birthday gift. If you're only interested in laser tag and video games, do yourself a favor and skip the line trying to talk to someone but going to one of the kiosks. This was such a fun day! We came here because a neighbor was having a birthday party. We arrived to a very cool building off woodruff rd (but with backroads so you can avoid the traffic) with plenty of parking. When we got inside we were greeted with smiles (behind masks) social distancing spots for the line to pay. We got our sanitized bowling shoes and made our way into a private bowling ~elite~ room with 10 private lanes. This was so nice to have! Music played, fancy disco lights and strobe light options. Each lane lit up in difference colors with 2 HUGE projector screens playing football. We had private servers who took our food orders and brought us drinks flowing (kids you bowl, momma gonna have an adult drink). They had a full menu to choose from, along with a real restaurant inside the event center. After the bowling games the kids led us to the arcade where we whooped their butts in some airhockey & driving games. (They had loads of other games too!) We also got to play a game of laser tag which was a hoot! We decided we will be back next weekend and ready for a neighborhood battle in laser tag (the perfect game to social distance!) read more

We paid 58 dollars for an hour escape room and the help button stopped working less than halfway through and we solved a riddle to get a flashlight and once we got the flashlight it stopped working within 5 minutes when it was supposed to work the whole rest of the time. We needed that flashlight to solve the next riddle and we couldn't solve it and we ran out of time. We did not get offered our money back or even a discount on anything afterward. Update: I visited again on 10/6, and again there was a wait, but again it wasn't bad. We enjoyed the back bar with the football games and drinks while we waited for our lane. I had the chicken soft tacos and cheese fries. They were pretty good, nothing spectacular. The Moscow Mule drink was delicious. The punch of ginger in it made it really enjoyable. Unfortunately, the cashier didn't explain to my dad that you're paying by the hour on weekends, so we were definitely caught off guard when the late shut down halfway through our second game. I approached management, and spoke with JC (maybe JP)- before I could finish my sentence, he was already talking over me saying the policy on the weekends about paying by the hour. He then proceeded to say 'There was no way it wasn't explained to you' and 'why would you expect to pay $39 per game?' So i tried to talk again, and he again talked over me. When I finally got a word in, I said it wasnt explained and there are 3 adults bowling, so $39 is not unreasonable and my dad is from NY and that price us comparable to what he's used to and didnt complain. He then asked if we would point out which cashier it was that didn't explain the policy, and I said 'Sure, if you want to stop being an ass hole!' He definitely refused to help at that point, and when I asked to speak to his manager, he said he didnt have one, so I asked to speak to the managing partner. He said he would get me another member of management but 'Let it be known I will not help you if you use that language.' I'm cool with that, however, before I even said ass, he was already being a jerk. When I spoke to the other manager, i explained 'Even before we got to the word ass, your manager would not allow me to speak and kept talking over me.' The second manager (dont remember his name) was kind enough to fully explain the policy, apologized that it wasnt told the first time, but that it was a busy night and things may have been missed, and allowed us to complete the game. I appreciated the fact he took a moment to do that, unlike his colleague who must've been having a stressful night. Well, I was running errands and was about 90 minutes past my typical time of grabbing lunch. I was close by and decided to pop in to Spare Time and order possible the easiest & quickest lunch that you could possibly order: Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The place was not crowded---maybe 10-12 other people at the most. After 40 minutes, a salad came out. I say "a salad" because it wasn't the salad that I had ordered but I almost ate it. So back to the back with that one. After 20 minutes, my Caesar salad with grilled chicken showed up with less chicken than was on the wrong order. I entered Spare Time with a group of teens from Church. Immediately in front of me is what looks like a hotel check in desk. Exactly like that. Immediately to my left is an open air restaurant and bar that reminds me of the Chili's restaurant in the Atlanta airport, you know the one that is open but has the wrought iron fence between the concourse and the seating area and the long bar to the left? That one. To my right is a scene out of Dave & Busters, it is an arcade. Moving past the hotel check in desk, in the center of a large open concourse like hallway is the Brain from the movie IRobot. It is some type of a water feature with multi-colored lights, but it looks just like the Brain. Behind this is a bowling alley, moving to the right are the individual public lanes. To my left is a private room on the backside of the kitchen that is a walled off party area with a private bar, several tables in an eating/visiting area and eight private bowling lanes for something like a corporate event. The teens loved the place. There are plenty of arcade games where credits are accumulated for redemption of prizes. There was a long wait list for a bowling alley so we did not get to experience this. There is also a laser tag room. It looks like a fun place to come back and try the bowling and the food. What a neat place for food, drinks, and entertainment! This was my first visit to Sparetime for a company Christmas party and I will definitely be back. The facility is so clean and exciting, and the soundtrack is on point. The waitstaff provided impeccable service and our party was catered so I'm not sure if the items we had are regularly offered but the deviled eggs are a must try! We also had hummus and pita chips, fried chicken tenders, and pulled pork and cheeseburger sliders. Yum! The children had a blast at the bowling lanes and the arcade was overwhelmingly lit! There is a bar area, a laser tag section, and probably more to explore. A great place to host adults or small children or both. This was a real disappointment! Some friends and myself brought our kids here for bowling and dinner. Once we were on the 2 1/2 wait list for a lane (4pm on a Saturday), we went to get a table to eat dinner. We went to the hostess who, instead of greeting us, gave us a blank stare. I asked for a table for 6, and still without saying a word, picked up menus, and walked to a table. I guess I was supposed to just pick up on her nonverbal cues. Once seated, we finally saw a waiter about 15 min later. He was nice enough but once he took our order, that was wrong, it was another 15-20 til we saw him again. Food was definitely "bar food" which is fine...but not at the high prices they charge! It was gross, cold and my daughters order wasn't even put in. Her food came after we finished eating. Our buzzer went off to let us know our bowling lane was ready, and the lady at the desk had the personality of a stapler. It's sad because this could be a really cool place if some attention was paid to customer service. The service was fine, the bowling area was clean and all functional, and there were plenty of balls to choose from. (I'm actually 12 years old.) It's a great area and I love what they've done with the place. I didn't try any of the food, but I think it would be a great place for a party/gathering with friends. A lounge by the bowling area so you can get your drink on and bowl. You can rent lanes area for private party. Great specials every day. Sunday's 10-12 bowling is $2.22 a person. We went with our two children and paid $8.88 for the four of us to bowl. It wasn't very busy so we got see the new place. The bowling was great and had fun screens to interact with. It's very nice and clean. The staff was polite and helpful when we needed it. The arcade is also very clean and well lit but it's the same pricey games for little kids that don't do a whole lot or give a lot in entertainment value. We came here for the games but decided to try the dessert and I'm glad we did. We got the cookie skillet sundae and it was sooo good. The cookie was moist on the inside and the ice cream went really well with it. I really like how they separate the two so the ice cream doesn't make the cookie soggy. Only thing I'd like to see is for the cookie to be crispier on the outside. Still glad we got to try the cookie though. It's a little bias for me to be writing this review since I work here, but... I've been working here since September 2014 when we started the big renovation of this place. It went through A LOT of work to get to the beautiful place it is today- and we stayed open through it all! The facility is brand new, cozy, and beautiful. We have an arcade, a great laser tag arena, 34 bowling lanes, a full restaurant, and three bars! We have a VIP suite (lanes 20-25) that you can rent out for parties and events. There's a bar, pool table, and shuffleboard in this room as well. (Call and ask for Karen if you need information about parties/events). We have a large menu with a good variety of items. You can dine in at our restaurant on the weekend and during the week we serve all food to the lanes! Some of our staff have been here for years while a lot are brand new. We go weekly for trivia. Always fun but the waitress we are stuck with can't get orders right. Bills are always wrong and the charge for soft drink is $3.50. Ridiculous charge for a Pepsi. She skips people with ordering and many can't get refills on water. We understand they may have wait shortage but some are standing around and could maybe help. Hopefully the wait staff will improve. Typical bowling alley charges between $2 to 5 dollars an hour per person or $20 for the lane with teams of four people. here the crowd you at eight people so you don't have time to play.
