Ugh, I'm torn. I love Jack Rabbit. Bartenders were attentive and nice tonight. Music is always solid. Prices are normal and food is reliable. But tonight we came in after 10pm for a show with a cover. We gave security our ID and they took our photos to enter. We couldn't enter without taking it. We asked what they did with it and the bouncer blew us off. Later when we left, we (kindly, not annoyingly) asked if they could delete our photos and were told "don't come back." If you're going to have "ICE is not welcome here" stickers displayed proudly behind the bar, as well as other places, maybe you shouldn't use facial recognition software & a photo database that's timestamped and could be subpoenaed in this political climate . Just ok! Tried the brunch. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and a side of strawberry French toast. Sandwich was ok, the bagel itself had good flavor but a tad over toasted. The French toast was ok. Just bread with a strawberry compote and powdered sugar .. nothing special about it. My guest had the steak and eggs and had to send it back because it wasn't cooked properly. They remade everything and the steak was still overcooked. Was supposed to be medium and it was more medium well. I tried a piece and the only flavor was from the char taste given from whatever grill they cooked it on. No seasoning at all! It wasnt good. Service was pleasant, but inattentive. The waitress was doing some of everything. One moment we saw her at the bar, next running downstairs. I was just about done with my meal before my guest could even tell her the steak was not cooked properly. In fact she didn't come over. My guest actually walked her plate to the bar for service, as she never came back to the table to ask if everything was ok. Ambience was good. We enjoyed live music during brunch which was nice. Slightly loud, but it didn't interfere too much with our conversation. We enjoyed it. I won't be back. Food was overrated. Service was lacking. Parking took 15minutes to find as the lot was packed and off street was hard to come by, but I'm glad we experienced it. I'm actually disappointed because it's been so highly rated, perhaps we ordered the wrong thing? Shouldn't matter though Overall, we had a great time together. read more

Really loved this place! Stopped in for brunch for an early birthday celebration. We sat outside which was enjoyable as there was a lot of activity and sightseeing on Elmwood. Paige was our waitress and she was amazing! She was very sweet and got us everything we needed and then some (hello birthday shot!) The food was the best part of our visit. The loaded tots were 5/5 and I would highly recommend them! I also enjoyed the biscuits and sausage gravy. Had a great time here! Bartenders answered questions. Good food selection. Pretty cool aesthetic if you like retro dive. There was a speed dating event upstairs, karaoke at the bar (which was super fun! Everyone was really into it!), a lady selling baked goods to support the Buffalo City Mission, etc. Everyone is very nice and talks to you like they know you which I love! LGBQ+ friendly. Philly cheesesteak dip was super good. I don't go to bars often but still will come back sometime! I only wish this were somewhere other than Elmwood only due to the parking issue (mostly bothersome when it's freezing out lol) so if you're not familiar with the area it is street parking. The server was a fantastic, though I unfortunately don't recall his name since it was about 7 weeks ago. The food was nothing special - pretty standard - so that's where the one star gets docked, as the whole group felt that way and we all got something different. Surprisingly for sitting next to a pool table and change machine, it had a charm and I loved it. I ordered the loaded tots (forgive the bad lighting, again, sat in the dungeon ) but it was so delicious and filling. The portion was huge, so if you have a good appetite I highly recommend it. My friend got the avocado toast and he said he'd get it again too. The only criticism I had is I wish our waitress asked us if we wanted refills on our drinks but it's a small gripe. The steak was cooked well done with no seasoning. I had to bring my meal to the bar as the waitress didn't come to the table. I waited 10 minutes. The waitress came over and apologized. There's a nice bar back training there and the (older, sorry not being ageist just want to describe her better) woman "helping" him out kept berating him and said THREE TIMES "you're never going to be a bartender" Just awful behavior. What year does she think this is where you can just be so mean to an employee like that. He kept his spirits up and had an AMAZING attitude about it. Just to make sure I wasn't crazy I asked another patron if they heard this abuse and he agreed that the bar back was being unfairly maligned by this woman. I found this place on a happy accident, and I'm glad I did. This bar and grill is not only a restaurant but a music venue as well with great sound. We were greeted by the sound of love music and a friendly hostess . The menu looked so appetizing that I wanted it all. We started with sweet potato fries with a housemade hot honey. The honey was a tad too spicy for me, but my husband loved it. The fries were crisp and fluffy in the middle, not greasy at all. The seasoning was great on them, too! Next, I had the Ham and Gruyere cheese melt. Instead of your traditional sides like fries , this place makes you love your vegetables again! I had the balsamic glazed roasted brussel sprouts, and they were fantastic! The sandwich was very large, and I could only eat a quarter of this triple decker. Make sure you save room for dessert! We had the Buffalo Beignets. I do not regret this decision. This dessert is definitely large enough for a table of 3 or 4 people to share. These pillows of happiness melt in your mouth.
