    Breakfast sandwich with sliced tomatoes
    Rashika H.

Just ok! Tried the brunch. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and a side of strawberry French toast. Sandwich was ok, the bagel itself had good flavor but a tad over toasted. The French toast was ok. Just bread with a strawberry compote and powdered sugar .. nothing special about it. My guest had the steak and eggs and had to send it back because it wasn't cooked properly. They remade everything and the steak was still overcooked. Was supposed to be medium and it was more medium well. I tried a piece and the only flavor was from the char taste given from whatever grill they cooked it on. No seasoning at all! It wasnt good. Service was pleasant, but inattentive. The waitress was doing some of everything. One moment we saw her at the bar, next running downstairs. I was just about done with my meal before my guest could even tell her the steak was not cooked properly. In fact she didn't come over. My guest actually walked her plate to the bar for service, as she never came back to the table to ask if everything was ok. Ambience was good. We enjoyed live music during brunch which was nice. Slightly loud, but it didn't interfere too much with our conversation. We enjoyed it. I won't be back. Food was overrated. Service was lacking. Parking took 15minutes to find as the lot was packed and off street was hard to come by, but I'm glad we experienced it. I'm actually disappointed because it's been so highly rated, perhaps we ordered the wrong thing? Shouldn't matter though Overall, we had a great time together.

Really loved this place! Stopped in for brunch for an early birthday celebration. We sat outside which was enjoyable as there was a lot of activity and sightseeing on Elmwood. Paige was our waitress and she was amazing! She was very sweet and got us everything we needed and then some (hello birthday shot!) The food was the best part of our visit. The loaded tots were 5/5 and I would highly recommend them! I also enjoyed the biscuits and sausage gravy. Fruit was very fresh and a nice light touch to the heavy breakfast I'm looking forward to coming back for something new!

Had a great time here! Bartenders answered questions. Good food selection. Pretty cool aesthetic if you like retro dive. There was a speed dating event upstairs, karaoke at the bar (which was super fun! Everyone was really into it!), a lady selling baked goods to support the Buffalo City Mission, etc. Everyone is very nice and talks to you like they know you which I love! LGBQ+ friendly. Philly cheesesteak dip was super good. I don't go to bars often but still will come back sometime! I only wish this were somewhere other than Elmwood only due to the parking issue (mostly bothersome when it's freezing out lol) so if you're not familiar with the area it is street parking. Still worth it for the great vibes :)

Visited for brunch twice, everything we've tried has been delicious, and the service has been great. I don't suggest showing up for brunch without a reservation, during both visits I passed by a pile of people by the door and was seated quickly.

Had a good time with the group and the drinks were amazing! Porn star martini was the fave out of the 4 drinks we got. The Married couple was unique and provided a much needed laugh as a person in the group is getting a divorce. The Mexican firing squad was strong! And the other drink was okay. It was our least favorite so I dont remember the name. The strip sirloin pizza was great!

Have eaten here several times for takeout, brunch, lunch, dinner, late night inside and on the patio. Food is consistently good every time and staff are friendly. Dog friendly too! I love that they have tots lol Supportive of the elmwood village, welcoming and has live music consistently.

The atmosphere was nice even on the day of a Bills game. In the upstairs back room there are two TVs to watch the game and service was still great. We had Paige as our server and she was attentive and fast. The French toast was delicious. The Omar Benedict was flavorful as well. We will definitely be returning for another brunch.

Review from 3/2024 Classic eggs Benny 7/10 Thicker sauce. Good consistency. Not much flavor though. The "Canadian bacon" was actually ham. Potatoes 7/10 were a little firm in the middle, not cooked enough.

Food is delicious! Don't be fooled by the casual environment. Order the poutine & pizza it's the best!

Stopped in for drinks around 5 pm on Sunday before heading to a Bills game. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. Drink was the vodka ducky which was perfectly sweet and biter. The duck is a cute addition. Seems like the food would be good and a decently large space. Would definitely stop by again if we are in the area!

Was nice they were able to get us on the patio for a gorgeous Saturday morning to people watch and enjoy brunch outside. Came here on my husbands birthday and enjoyed breakfast before a long day of family and celebrating. The cocktails were fun - his came with a little rubber ducky in it - cute little twist! He loved his tater tots and the special sandwich that was on French toast with eggs and bacon. I enjoyed the eggs in purgatory but it was too much sauce and not enough eggs - the goat cheese was a good touch though, made them even more creamy. Our server was great as well. We'd def come back!!

Very good atmosphere to this place! I got a pizza and it was phenomenal! Thicker crust, extra crunchy cheese and good amount of pepperoni! Went with a small group of people and everyone said good things about the food. Service was great as well.

I stopped here to have a little mini reunion with some friends on my way through town. It was a great welcoming atmosphere in one of my favorite parts of Buffalo. The server was a fantastic, though I unfortunately don't recall his name since it was about 7 weeks ago. The food was nothing special - pretty standard - so that's where the one star gets docked, as the whole group felt that way and we all got something different. I liked the tots more than the Eggs Benedict which should have been "the star". I would go back to try other items though, especially for lunch or dinner.

Waited at our table for 15-20 to see a server and then walked out. No employees in site or to even see us leave.

A menu with prices would be nice, where can I see one.?

The best place to look unfortunately is in the pictures. There are some on Yelp and Google. You'll have to look at the dates to get the closest possible to the current menu and prices.

    Do you have gf options?

    Yes

How do you determine who is medically unable to be vaccinated?

We no longer require vaccinations, per local and state laws.

Do you need to be vaccinated to enter?

Yes, that way you do not have to wear a mask.

    Are reservations recommended for brunch?

Yes, but not required. We always keep some tables, and both bars, available for walk ins.

I would definitely get this again. Matt got the jalapeno cheeseburger, which had two thick beef patties side by side on the jalapeno bread...at $18.95 it was actually a pretty good deal. He's ordered this before and loves it. He especially likes the fried jalapenos they add. The fries are house made and delicious. One order is enough for two. We'll definitely be back!

The seitan really surprised me with the texture and taste, and the sandwich was packed with so much flavor. It was way more filling than I expected. They make their own sourdough in-house, and it really takes the sandwich to another level. I also tried the peach basil hand pie (not pictured), which was a first for me because I'm not usually a sweets or pastry person. It was too cute to pass up, and I'm so glad I tried it. The filling-to-pastry ratio was perfect, not too sweet with a nice glazed crust on the outside. I didn't get much basil flavor, but overall it was still really good. I heard they switch up the flavors often, so if you see the peach basil one, grab it before it's gone. The staff was really friendly this time around. First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.
