Went there Sunday around 4 pm , no one answered phone when I tried calling beforehand to see if they were open ,, so we decided to go there and take a chance we walk in there's only two tables of people, and we walked in,, the bartender was server and waiter ,, he seemed like he was new or wasn't sure of bartender/waiter job ,, it was taking him forever to make drinks as if he had never made a drink before was messing around with the register, taking him a long time to attend to the tables,, I'm very surprised that nobody else was there to help them out because after we ordered another three or four more customers walked in the door, otherwise the food was good, but the service was super slow. When we were getting ready to walk out a group of of about eight or nine people walked in for one table ,, there was also another customer that had to get up from their table to ask for another drink because he hadn't gone to their table in a while but anyway, I'll try going on a Saturday afternoon to see how the services if it's any better or not. Let me start by saying the 3 stars does not mean it's bad, just remember that you're eating at a golf course restaurant (and not a country club.) The food is good, nothing to brag about and the prices are very reasonable. For those two reasons we will probably be back again for its convenience to our home and for the good variety of options on the menu. Both service and ambiance were great. I'll always think more highly of a place with fresh cut fries and they have those. All in all a good spot to eat at when you don't know what you want. read more

I have been wanting to try Flavor for some time now. Me and my friend made the trek when I got coupons in my clipper magazine! This restaurant is open year long, despite it being on an 18 hole public golf course. Pam, our waitress, was excellent! She patiently answered questions and gave us service with a smile! Some other patrons that were there were also friendly, pointing out the house made sauces on a chalk board ... and when they were on their way out, they let us know the portions were generous and we would not leave hungry (they were not kidding!) I want to say, I have known my friend for 39 years and we have shared countless meals together and never in my life did I hear him say what he said tonight: "I'm so full I feel sick" LOL! This was a high compliment if I ever heard one! And he really did eat more than I have ever seen! We each wanted the same 2 meals and thus agreed to order them and share some of ours with each other .. so he ordered the Shepherds Pie (he doesn't like cheese so he got his without) and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The pulled pork comes without the sauce on it, so you can pick from all of their homemade sauces. I chose the Basic BBQ because that is sweet and without heat .. that is what my friend wanted to try ... and the honey Cajun. My friend sliced off some of my sandwich and scarfed it down so fast. He said it was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches he ever had! I will say, I did appreciate it coming without sauce so you could have it your way. And the pork was tender. The bun held up nicely too for the generous portion of meat they gave. Between the two sauces, I did prefer the basic BBQ. But there was nothing wrong with the other sauce, it was just a matter of preference. The fries were super good! My friend took one fry to try, and then stole about 25% of them! He then ate all of his shepherds pie AND dessert! He was a happy camper at Flavor! For dessert, they don't have a menu but the variety doesn't really change Pam says. They are listed below the daily specials on the chalkboard as you walk in (see my photos) or just ask your server to rattle them off for you. We both got the brownie delight, that was a large and warm brownie with vanilla iced cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry on top! The ambiance is very casual and basic. It is clean (including the bathroom facilities). The lighting in the dining area is bright versus dim. There is a bar with TVs as you could see from pictures but again, it is bright lighting versus dim. I think the windows overlook the golf course but it was covered in snow and and a bit of a winter storm when I was there so didn't see much but the blanket of snow and pitch black. I am new to YELP but feel this must be said. The food at this location is amazing! The ambiance is nice and a great view of the golf course while eating. The portions are great so make sure to bring your appetite as you will not be disappointed. The service is usually great, BUT there is one staff member Tammy that makes it a bit uncomfortable and she's slower than most of the staff there. While I am a person who extends grace more often than I probably should, some things are just not appropriate. 1. She calls me "kid" every time we are there. I tried not to be so obvious that it bothered me, but when I spoke to her I would call her by her name. She continued to refer to me as "kid" and it became quite annoying. I have a family member that states that she does the same to them when they go in. 2. While she does get things to the table she's a little slower than most. A few times we thought it was just because it was busy, but we have found that even on slower days her service is the same. 3. We asked about a staff member that we had not seen in a while and we were given way too much information. It is very inappropriate for her to go into personal details about other members as a simple answer would have been fine, eventually we would have figured it out. Overall food is great and the ambiance is nice. If there was anything I would improve it would be to possibly offer customer service training because slow service, gossip and calling customers "kid" is a sure way to lose customers who are just looking to relax and grab a quick bite. I am rating my experience as a 3 based on the customer service received, but the food is amazing! read more

Our first time. We're "locals". We will DEFINITELY be frequenting! Had the Shep' Pie. Let me just say, mmm mmm MMM! The beef just melted and the sauce was exquisite! I had the Beef on Weck with fries and wings. Beef was good, (zero weird things or snappy gristle) (WHICH I HATE). Beef was sliced thin (ish) I prefer wafer thin, but that's my taste preference. It could have been more on the pink side. Again my taste preference. But it's really, really good. Fries are STELLAR!! Thin, cooked perfectly. Wings were awesome. Well, this was a total disappointment. We thought we'd try it after they put a $10 off $50 coupon in a local advertising circular. Unfortunately, either they didn't plan ahead or just don't have enough staff, both front and back of house. The bartender/waitress/hostess warned us she was by herself when we were seated. She brought our drinks promptly but then we waited...and waited...and waited. She can't serve food that isn't prepared, so I have to assume there was one person in the kitchen also. We didn't have a difficult order--Beef on weck with salad and meatloaf. After a 30-minute wait, hubby was ready to leave and as we started to put our coats on, she came out of the kitchen with another table's food and said she was just about to bring ours out. So, we stayed, reluctantly, as we didn't want the food to go to waste. Beef on weck was very tender with good flavor but was way too wet. I have aujus dripping down my arms. Side salad was ok. Hubby's meatloaf was a mess though. Drowning in gravy which he does NOT like, including over a sad-looking small scoop of mashed potatoes that looked like instant. Plus the meatloaf had green pepper in it which he absolutely hates. Not even a scoop of frozen mixed veggie to make the plate look a bit more put together. Definitely not worth $18. Back to the LONG wait--these are both premade items that just need heating up. Server told us it was the last order of meatloaf so we knew it was just awaiting reheating. I understand staff shortages, but with a little foresight, our order could have quickly been heated and delivered within a more reasonable time frame. read more

This place may take you by surprise when you get there because it's located at the Buffalo Tournament Club golf course, when we pulled in we thought we were in the wrong place! Once we got inside we found it to be a quaint little place, with 3 TV's on above the bar and several tables throughout. The bar/restaurant manager sat and waited in us and was a very nice, personable guy. A waitress came in later and checked in on us and she was also very friendly and helpful. My wife and I both had the beef on weck and it was out of this world! One of the best I've ever had without question. At $18 I thought it was a little pricy until I saw the size of the sandwich, OMG it was piled high with beef!! Picked up a couple fish fry's to go last night. We were very pleased. I can't exactly say I was disappointed that there wasn't a breaded option on the menu because many restaurants don't offer it either. But sometimes battered coating is thick and greasy. But, our battered fish last night was terrific. It was light and crisp and well done....lol, done well. Big piece of fish and the sides were great, tasted like fresh cut fries, not too thin, the salads were great. And I didn't expect potato salad And fries...did I mention the mountain of fries? I thought the potato salad was better than the coleslaw but she thought otherwise. I guess I like a little more kick in the slaw, a little more zing a little more sweet. The sides might have been a little under seasoned but that's personal preference. The macaroni salad was nice, not pasty or limp overcooked elbows. The meal was done in 20 minutes exactly as they promised when I called to order. And I still have some leftover for lunch tomorrow. For the price I think it was a very good value and it was good to see so many people in the restaurant enjoying themselves...I could tell because the lights are turned up to 100. Went to Flavors to check out specifically their thingers. Come to find out. They are fingers but made up from thigh meat (I am not a thigh person) which is a nice, unique twist on regular fingers. We did get a variety of good. Burgers. Fries. Tacos. Quesadilla and beef on weck with wings. Was not a fan of the taco or quesadilla but the other food items were fantastic. Two very friendly and personable staff members made sure we were taken care of. The place is very nice and clean, even the restrooms. Nice view overlooking an 18 hole golf course (although snow was our view). read more

This place is horrible! Treats their employees like crap and steal peoples recipes! Their roast beef and 13 sauces are NOT their recipe. The are so mean to their employees. They steal recipes and then let employees go. Support a business that cares about their employees and can make up their own recipes and NOT steal from others. Their roast beef, pizzas, all their sauces etc were NOT from them. They stole the recipes from a previous employee. Then they let employees go all the time if they can find someone else to serve the owner for a cheaper price. This place is gross and I will NEVER step foot in there again. So, our family had just finished a funeral ceremony and we were looking for a place to sit down, decompress and connect. We were looking for someplace close by but weren't very familiar with the area. When our search pulled up Flavor it seemed to be the right mix of causal and quality. When we arrived, we discovered it was on a golf course which was a nice surprise. The dining room was tucked around a few corners but when we found the place it was delightful. Overlooking the golf course was a bar and dining room hosted by a professionally dressed gentleman. He moved a table to seat our party and kindly took our drink order. The menu was simple, savory and comforting. I got the beef on weck which was of the gourmet variety. AMAZING! Our table also got the Shephard's pie and meat loaf. Everything was more than delicious. The prices were more than reasonable. The staff were kind and efficient. The manager even popped over to our table to say hello. Our expectations were exceeded and we would certainly take the drive just for the food. Menu was adequate; we ordered a roast beef sandwich and 5 wings, which also came with fries. Pricey at $24 but we split it for a light dinner. We went there two weeks ago for a fish fry. The service was a bit slow from start to finish. Our waitress was very nice but not forthcoming with information. This was our first time here & she did not offer up any info on the specials, happy hour, etc. like the other servers did. We had to ask. We ordered 2 fish fry's, one fish taco & the Mahi. the food was just ok. everything was over done. The mahi was dry, not flakey. The fish fry was dark brown and the salads were very heavy with mayo. that's all you tasted. The fish tacos were ok. Not a lot of fish in them. The fries were good. I don't think I'd go back. Friday feb 24th for a fish fry. Fish was great,cooked perfectly. Was very pleasantly pleased with the homemade, macaroni, potato and cole slaw. Placed was busy. naturally, fish fry during Lent in WNY. Made a reservation the day before was no issue for the time we wanted. We were seated promptly. Staff was fun and attentive even thou they were running there tails off. The Chef came out to check on tables to see every thing was to our liking. nice surprise. I'm writing this after a second visit. The first one was for take out so this time I decided to bring two family members along to dine in. Due to the excellent beef in weck I had the last time I was looking forward to eating here again. We walked in to four people at the bar and a sign that said to seat yourself. No acknowledgement from the bartender when walking in. We sat down at a table right across from the bar (we were the only table occupied). Over the next 10-12 minutes the bartender glanced over at us a few times, didn't bring menus, didn't call for anyone to go to the table to take our order, etc. They did have time to chat with the bar patrons but no time to shout out "be right with you" or even "we are short staffed you have to order at the bar" which would have been fine with me. It was the most awkward bizarre experience I have ever had at a restaurant - the first time I actually felt invisible. Ended up walking out (and nobody said a word as we were leaving) - can't describe it as anything less than strange and unexpected. Probably will not return. read more
